That the show was bad this year, shouldn't be an indication that more shows in the future will be the same. Stop trying to kill people's careers, people...or how again, do they say that? ![]() |
^^true that, I could care less about such things, but they have to be done with a reasonable degree of sense or purpose. I don't see any here. ![]() |
You 'just know'. There's that quality of your partnership that just makes sense. Those feelings which influence your lifelong decisions, do not necessarily need or even have logical thought as basis, but are often sensed, wholly by your intuition. |
Okies. It's not the sanest thing that I've read in a while, buh coming from you... #there's God |
These people prolly thought that Africans still walk around, unclad, as they portray us in their movies, and thus, did not consider that Nigerians may see what they'd be putting on in public places as abhorrent or thereabout. ![]() |
MOBBDEEP: ChevelleOh thanks! Cool moniker by the way. I did like their Survival of the fittest. ![]() |
...and this, is soo sooo true. no such thing as favorite band if you are a rock fan |
Okies, fourcade...whatever. . I contributed on the first page, daylae. Most of the songs being listed here are pretty commercial stuff. Pardon me, buh the majority here aren't real rockheads. ![]() |
Hmmn...a lot of commercial rock songs and artistes listings going on here. ![]() |
zibe: Thought Kwale people are from Ndokwa East.Oh, that was even a mistake. I meant to say Ukwani people from Ndokwa east, not Kwale people from Ndokwa east. Some Ukwanis are in Ndokwa East and some, Ndokwa-west. Kwale itself, which is a town in Delta, is in Ndokwa-West (and is even the headquarters of Ndokwa West). |
Hehe. I wanted to share what I saw too. ![]() |
I breathe it! ![]() I've No favorite band, buh I have a favorite sub-genre- Heavy Metal. I do System of a Down, Metallica, Chevelle, Paying On Debt, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath...and on like dat... ![]() |
afam4eva: Now, people like you will be more easier convincing that Ishilove because you've seen both sides and you're able to make an informed and rational judgement. I knew someone whose father was from Ukwuani and mother from Owerri and she doesn't deny being Igbo. But for some people that have not really being in contact with Igbos, they'll keep denying it.Infact, I really don't know why people stress themselves over such matters. So long I know who I am and right now, I really don't feel bothered about any of this. |
Andre Uweh: How else could it would have been formed if not the same way Hausa and Yoruba was formed. Or the say way Germans and Italians formed their nations in the late 17th century. Groups who speak similar dialects or languages.Hmmn... |
Yes.. |
afam4eva: Another misconception that some Ukwuani people make in thinking that they're different from south east Igbos is that they think we all speak the same dialect. What you hear Igbos speaking is central Igbo and is different from what Ngwa, Nkanu, Onitsha, Arochukwu speak. So, just like Ukwuani, we all have our dialects that may not be understood by Igbo from other places....so yes, I know this. |
Infact, scratch that. I managed to confuse myself too. #multitasking. Either way, I'm a winner. I'm Ukwani/Isoko with an Umuahia mother. So all join! ![]() |
Edited! |
Hehe. Interesting. So that should mean that all sensible Nigerians are igbos. ![]() Afam... |
Kk. Hmmn. |
Or how was the igbo group even formed? Let me learn something today. |
Hmmn. Probably. For the sake of falling into one of the three major ethnic groups, they'd agree. But... I mean, like what you just relayed about the benins, can't the same be said about the igbos too? |
Afam, the majority of Deltans (some people still say) and even a part of Anambra (based on the ubulu migrants now) are originally from Benin. But I'll use the Ogume people, as examples of typical edo people, as almost all of them, migrated from benin and even still share borders with Edo...even though, they claim Ukwani and fall under the Ndokwa-west category. |
Interesting question. Chicken and egg. ![]() Let's not forget the Benin part of the story too. (Bendel). |
Nah. My grand dad did. My fam still answers an isoko surname (my great grand dad's) till date, even though, we claim Ukwani. #revelations ![]() |
...as I was saying. We understand and speak both...anyway and how we want, interchangeably in one sentence even and so on... But to avoid long explanations most of the time, when we are asked, we just say Ukwani. |
afam4eva: I also met a guy that's just like you. he says they migrated from the Isoko area and settled in Ndokwa. Both! ![]() |
afam4eva: @RocktationDepends on a lot of things. But I'll say Ndokwa-east (Abhor area). We're originally part of the isokos that migrated, so you're getting the info, first-hand. Infact, we still have lands and relatives that we visit and visit us from time to time. They take part in some of our rites and we do the same in theirs. |
I hope the mods here, forgive us. Ishi, I saw that obiaruku discussion. Afam, the roots I mean now, is completely erasing their actual ancestral lands from their discussions and even memories sometimes. An example is the Kwale people in Ndokwa-east. Most of them migrated from Ada, an isoko land, because of fertile lands and fresh fish and even speak Ukwani till date. A lot of our generation do not know this, buh a few of our oldies still relay the truth. |

I know there's an Ubulu-uku or so, in Aniocha area, around Ogwashi-ukwu area and of cos, Asaba. So possibly they might be related to those in Anambra, since they share boundaries. You know back then, it doesn't take anything for someone to pack their fam, migrate to some other place and completely deny his root. So it's exactly like the chicken and egg tale. I don't know who made the move. Whether the ubulu people in Anambra or the ones in Delta. @Ishi: hmmn, I got confused. Because this isn't the first time that I've seen you argue over something that an outsider might even know about completely. ![]() |
Yeah babes! The oppressors took it from me. Just while I was busy banning and unhiding posts, some persons stole my titles in ALL my favorite sections. |
