entapryce: Well said, I appreciate ur effort... but ur source can't be so sure about this part. This is Nigeria! nothing is impossible Nigeria factor sometimes have a role to play. But will this jigawa list , its still top secret. You know, the intial list was discarded due to change of plans and overwhelming influence on the list. Only top official of PSC went to jigawa with federal character commission and NPF. I learnt that not all the state coordinators went. With this delay currently being experience now, if the list is not release soon, the grip on the list by top official of PSC will start to wane , then people around will start gaining access to it. |

seantei: good evening all. it's the observer again. recap from my previous post; recruitment has not been cancel, there won't be massive medicals, and there is no increase in slot or allocation. i was able to get in touch with an auditor in PSC. via a call; Before MTN network cease completely. we didt finish our discussion. But like I promise to keep intouch; am relating to you. What I was able to get from him is a confirmation that the recruitment is still alive. yes living good. he also confirm to me that it never true at anywhere in the world, at any point in time that people were able to see there names. NEVER TRUE. His Voice tune unlike my previous meeting with him lack alacrity or usual enthusiasm he usually poses. it's quit obvious to confirm that there are hiccup and hitches in the process. but he assured me the list will be out between; middle to ending of this month. he also said he is not sure we will be in camp this year. maybe early Jan. HE is not Ibrahim nor Okiro. Nairaland I am a train Journalist; I have written a lot of articles. I will not want to dent my reputation. all the information I relate are what am quite sure of. seantei: evening everyone. I have been following the trend for quite a while. And am not surprise with the amount of rumuor, half truth, gossip and grapevine going on. I personally won't blame anyone for circulating adulterated informations. When you don't know what to buy; people can sell you anything. bellow are the fact I have gathered. they are not necessary all 100%, but it will cure you anxiety and correct your pulse. 1: PSC have move to Jigawa...this is certain, with pressure mountain like acid rain, the PSC have like a crawling child move to katsina to conclude the recruitment. 99.9% correct! 2: Next Phase might not be medical; contrary to report of next phase being medical; if the NPF want everyone enlisted having medical; the will simply used the next 6 months; medical will be in camp. 60% certain. 3: recruitment has not been cancel, suspended or adjoined; now for those of you that are having unusually pulse about the health of the recruitment; yes we were suppose to be in camp in July, yes it taking time......malaria, fever....but never cancer! there were hitches. plus the APC government have had a lot of bad blood,Now just like the ministerial list, the government want to take there time. now I don't dont how transparent it will be. not everyone that has God father will get, and not all that don't know Okorie will be abandon. 100%. 4; now for those feeding people with cramps and craps about an increase in slot; it I a lie!!!!!!!!! lie!!!!!!!!! increase......will keep you posted tomorrow on more! http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/suspend-police-recruitment-senate-writes-commission/165980.htmlThe recruitment of 10,000 personnel into the police force has been suspended over alleged irregularity, reliable sources told Daily Trust. The recruitment was already underway when it was discovered that the criteria set for the exercise had been jettisoned. The Police Service Commission which is coordinating the recruitment put it on hold based on an order from the Senate Police Committee. The committee gave the suspension order in a letter it wrote to the commission on Thursday, sources said. Sources said the letter was also copied to President Muhammadu Buhari to draw his attention to the situation. The president gave the order for the recruitment of 10,000 policemen over a year ago. But the exercise ran into a number of problems over the past year. It took a series of meetings by the Senate Committee, the Police Commission and the Force Headquarters to get past the problems. The recruitment finally took off in August but soon after, other hitches developed. The stakeholders had agreed that the recruitment would be based on local government areas. But sources said trouble began when the commission decided to base the exercise on equal number per state, citing orders from above. Now, other stakeholders are demanding that the commission restrict itself to the recruitment of cadet ASPs, which is its statutory responsibility. The said Force Headquarters should handle the enlistment of those on inspectorate cadre and below. But when contacted yesterday, the spokesman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) Ikechukwu Ani, said the recruitment exercise had not been suspended. He added that the exercise was still on, explaining that the officials of the commission just finished a field exercise on the recruitment process. He also noted that the commission had been partnering with the police on the recruitment into both the constable and senior officers cadre. They shortlisted 110, 469 applicants for police recruitment aptitude tests across the country, he said. The Chairman of the Commission, Mike Okiro, at a recent press conference in Abuja, said applicants to write the exams included Cadet ASPs, 22,454, comprising 10,290 general duties and 12,164 specialists. Ceenelly: They shouldnt use state by state format. For instance how can state like bayelsa with 8 lga have same number of candidate with delta (25 lga) that have more than 3x lga of bayelsa state. For this i demand for more creation of state for delta/edo. As at 1963 Nigeria have 4 regions. Now among those regions is only defunt midwestern region that have 2 state formed from it (delta/edo) whereby other regions have gotten 6 and above state. I think this an injustice. We demand for more state for delta/edo atleast 2 in each of the state They are likely to use state by state because it's quoted in the Constitution. Besides, it's a very sensitive matter. If they are not careful they maybe sued to court for breaching the Constitution |

virginary: The Police Service Commission (PSC) is said to be under intense pressure to jettison the Federal Character principle in the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 police officers and men. New Telegraph gathered from highly placed sources that some members of the House of Representatives are mounting pressure on the Commission, to carry out the exercise on “local government by local government basis.”One of the sources, who spoke in confidence with New Telegraph, said the Commission has decided to stick to relevant provisions of theConstitution and the federal character principle, which provides that appointments and recruitment of any nature in the country, shall be equitably distributed; on state-bystate basis.Section 14 (3) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republicof Nigeria (as amended) provides that: “The composition of the Government of the Federation or any of its agencies and the conductof its affairs shall be carried out in such a manner as to reflect the federal character of Nigeria and the need to promote national unity, and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no predominance of persons from afew states or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups in that Government or in any of its agencies.”New Telegraph learnt that the Commission’s position was informed by the aforementioned provisions, and other extant laws. It was gathered that owing to pressure, the PSC Chairman, Sir Mike Okiro, and his Commissioners have since relocated to one of the North-West states, to conclude the recruitment exercise. According to the source, Okiro and the Chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs,Abu Ibrahim, will meet President Muhammadu Buhari this week. The essence of the meeting, according to the source, is to feel the pulse of the President on the matter. “Some House of Representatives’ members are insisting that the recruitment should be on local government basis, but the Commission insists on following the federal character principle.“In fact, the Commission is now meeting outside Abuja, to avoid pressure, as it concludes work on the exercise. “Until there is a counter order or directive from the Presidency, the Commission will stick to the stateby- state arrangement, which complies with relevant laws,” he said.On the planned visit to the president, the source noted: “The essence of the visit, is to bring the issue before Mr. President, to know his position, even though initial feelers had suggested that the president stood by the law. “This is very important, because recruitmentexercise is a very sensitive matter.” Buhari had, last year, directed the PSC to recruit 10,000 policemen, to boost the manpower needs of the Nigeria Police. Got this info last week about the PSC chairman relocating from abuja for the final shortlisting, but I never took it serious. The source told me that they left Abuja on tuesday. He also said that the list will be out this week. |

mjlbabajide: There is really no such thing as a credible source in this process. Believe me. My advice is that everybody should preoccupy their mind with other things while they keep a listening hear. The list will come one day, it must be sent at some point. But at which point? Nobody can answer that, except Mike Okiro and interior minister Dambazzau.
Any news not emanating from their respective offices is totally speculative without a spine of fact.
Trust me, the whole process is the best kept secret in PSC and Interior ministries, only the top trusted few echelons are in the know.
NPF has little or no idea of what is also happening, so do not allow any officer fool you. I have two family friends one an AIG and the second a State Command Police Commissioner, both has no idea of what is happening within PSC as regards the recruitment. They both said even very few people knows whats up withing the PSC structure.
So please be guided and prepare yourself for the worst news while you anticipate a good news.
Forget time frame don't allow anxiety get the best of you.
My 2 cowries Well said but, think of it this way, they may know and don't want to tell , or perhaps, they have not inquire from PSC. All AIGs and CPs have moles in PSC. |

EpitomeGreat1: I guess by now, all those that have speculated that the mails and or the list will roll in by the 7th of October can now find a place to hide their heads in shame.
To speculate is not really bad but to do so with accurate certainty and bravado is just terribly unpardonable. Reading speculations on this thread is just disturbing.
I wouldn't know whether these speculations are meant to heighten fears or to calm nerves. This explains why ENSHI has been very generous in dishing out all the curses that are open to mankind.
I therefore appeal that we speculate and/or 'rumourize'(permit my choice of word) with caution. Otherwise, ENSHI has potential disciples who will be equally generous if not more generous with laying curses on whoever dares play with our collective emotions.
I wish everyone of us success as we await the list whenever it comes out. God or whatever entity you believe in, bless you all. Amen! Bros be patience, 7th just kick-off let's see how the day will go.its way too early for this. |

Adortem: A source said that the cause of the delay is because some states are yet to forward their list to Abuja, let me add that federal character would also play in the selection process... Bro, the list is ready. All the states in the federation have submitted their list. I understand that cause of the delay could be as a result of preparation for the medicals. You know, command headquarters need to prepare to handle the large numbers of candidates coming for medicals. It's not easy task to conduct medicals for candidates close to a thousand(including costables, ASPs GD and SP) in a state. |
