Health / Re: History And Health Benefits Of Henna by Rokeebat(f): 6:12pm On Aug 21, 2020
Empiree:
Henna is not only for adornment but has several health benefits as well. We are all familiar with Henna and as Eid nears, females in Muslim households start shopping for it. Contrary to popular belief, henna is not only used for adornment and beauty purposes, it has been used for medicinal purposes throughout Islamic history and holds great significance in that regard. Muslims have been known to practice the use of henna since centuries and the practice remains alive to this very day.

Application of henna has been observed since the time of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and it has been mentioned in several hadith of the Prophet (PBUH), highlighting its significance and value.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “The best things to use to change grey hair are henna and katam.” (Al-Tirmidhi 1753)

Henna is basically a powdered version of a plant known as Lawsonia Alba, which is grown in countries like Pakistan, India, Iran and several others. Since centuries, it has been used as a dye for coloring different parts of the body, such as the hands, feet, nails and hair. According to the Islamic Encyclopedia of Medicine, henna was even used by the ancient Egyptians for mummification purposes.

Henna, in essence, has also been used for medicinal purposes since the Prophet’s (PBUH) time. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to personally prescribe it for several ailments during his time.

Narrated by Salmah, the maid-servant of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), said: No one complained to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) of a headache but he told him to get himself cupped, or of a pain in his legs but he told him to dye them with henna. (Abi Dawud Book 28, Hadith 3849)

According to another tradition:

Salma Umm Rafi’, the freed slave woman of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), said: “The Prophet (PBUH) did not suffer any injury or thorn- prick but he would apply henna to it” (Ibn Majah Vol. 4, Book 31, Hadith 3502).

So what does science have to say when it comes to the benefits of henna?

In recent times, due to more awareness and rising health consciousness, people have started preferring natural products over chemically processed ones; Henna is one of them. Henna, being a herb, is known to have different kinds of healing properties. According to recent findings, henna, aside from its dyeing properties, has great medicinal advantages. Some of which are as follows:

1. A remedy for headaches and migraines- the anti-inflammatory effects of the juice of henna help lower the nerve tension and promote healthy blood flow

2. Reduces fever- Brings the body temperature down through a cooling effect on the body

3. A balm for open wounds and fungal infections- helps in coagulation

4. Used as a medicinal crème for burns and eczema – protects against infections and reduces inflammation.

5. Sleep Regulator- Henna oil treatment helps with insomnia and sleep disorders by calming the body and mind, relaxing the nerve endings and inducing muscle relaxation

6. Used as an antiperspirant- closes the body’s pores and showcases antibacterial properties

7. Strengthens hair and prevents hair fall- revitalizes damaged hair

8. Maintains blood pressure- henna water or seeds have a hypotensive effect that alleviates the stress on the cardiovascular system, which leads to a decrease in blood pressure, preventing heart attacks and strokes as well.

Henna should be a part of your natural treatment schedule for it has many hidden benefits which are not commonly known. If the Holy Prophet (PBUH) prescribed it as a medicinal cure, who are we to question him? And it seems, science has only reinforced the Sunnah and hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), constantly shedding light on its therapeutic properties and health advantages.

I expect this Islamic fashion to flow among Nigerian girls as they read this. Watchout cheesy And I hope they would make use of its medical benefits as well.

Religion / Re: Christian Association Of Nigeria: Violation Of Religious Right by Rokeebat(f): 8:58am On Aug 17, 2020
Empiree:
CAN - Christian Association Of Nigeria And Religious Intolerance

We call on Federal govt of Nigeria to investigate extremist group called Christian Association Of Nigeria for it's intolerance and false allegations against various Muslim institutions in the country.

Ths is not the first time CAN accused Muslim groups of violence in the country. They have been caught in the past for wrongful accusations against Jamiu Adegunwa, chief lecturer of Risalatul Haq Dawah International. Please click here to visit his facebook page
and Yusuf Adepoju, Chief lecturer of ACADIP International facebook page

Both Muslim lecturers have been accused by CAN in the past 20 years for violence but authority could not find anything against them and had since advised CAN to stop creating false alarms. Two weeks ago, CAN chapter in Shaki, OYO State harassed another muslim lecturer, Ustaz Miftaudeen Arikewusola for "instigating violence" in the community through his peaceful preaching. This is another unfounded accusation by Christian Association Of Nigeria. CAN had been warned in the past for making false charges and disrupting Muslim community. Meanwhile, this is probably 3rd time Christian Association Of Nigeria brought this unfounded allegation against this innocent lecturer.

NIGERIA's constitution guarantees freedom of religion and religious gathering. It is unfortunate that anytime comparative Muslims gather to deliver lectures on religion and welfarism, CAN, summons police and other law enforcement in the country to disrupt their lectures and gatherings. In the subsequent posts you will find response filed by a Muslim against CAN to create awareness to the general public, especially Muslim community in Shaki, OYO state and the entire country. Also you will find CAN manifesto that was published in 1994 which blasphemed Islam, Muslims and the noble Prophet Muhammad (sallalahu alahi wasalam). CAN manifesto under the auspices of RCCG -Redeemed Christian Church of God called for "Quick Death Of King Fahd of Saudi and death of Muslim leaders around the world" in #4 of their manifesto.

CAN accused prophet muhammad (saw) of having HIV and Gonorrhea was the reason Muslims perform spiritual bath before daily prayers. And many more disgusting fallacies made up by CAN/RCCG in the 90s. But Muslims have never responded or sued RCCG/CAN.

Below is complaint filed by Christian Association Of Nigeria against Prof. Miftaudeen Arikewusola and also pictures of the Muslim lecturer.

SHEIKH ADAM ABDULLAH AL~ILORY’S SUFISM AND LEARNING JOURNEY: REPORTED SPEECH
via: Sheikh
Adam Abdullah Al~Iloory’s Lecture during the Mawlid celebration gathering for the Mystic, Sheikh Ahmad Rufaa’ee Nda Salaatee.
watch video here:

“My father was a Qaadiriyya Sufi. I started learning the Qur’aan from him. I also started Ilimee (Islamic Sciences) with him, after which I studied under the tutelage of Alfa Esin who was a Tijaaniyah. I learnt with Alfa Umar (Imam of Agbaji, Ilorin) who was a Tijaaniyah. I finished/concluded studies with Sheikhg Adam Namaajy who was a Qaadiriyah.

Alfa Salman Ake was the first to initiate me into the Qaadiriyah, after which I took it from Alfa Nda Salaatee, I also took form Alfa Adam Namaajii (Kano). I took it from the Gabas (East). I took from Shehu Naasir Kabara (Kano), I also got initiated (in the Qaadiriyah branch) of Shehu Uthman dan Fodio (Al~Fuudawiyyah).

I became Khaleefah (of Sufi Order) through Shehu Malik Shabdabu ‘in’ Kishajamu: {which consists of; Naqshabandiyyah, Junaydiyyah, Shaadhiliyyah, Marjaniyyah and Qadiriyyah}.

But (my role) in teaching people Islamic Knowledge (kewuu) pulled me back/made me retrogress (in the khilaafah of the spiritual paths), the reason for this is: If one upholds the Tareeqah/Spiritual path, one caters for his Self/Soul (Personal Salvation), and he wont be able to cater for others.”

NOTE: Spiritual Salvation/Journey is a personal one, which entails Jihad an~Nafs (Striving against the Lower~Self/Ego). It is very important to have a Shaykh al~Waseel (Guidance Shaykh), but the implementation of all his/her teachings in the journey strongly depends on the individual courage, discipline and sincerity of the mureed/seeker to reach the pristine destination of being soaked in one’s creator. May Allah make easy for us the journey and grant us the courage, discipline and sincerity to arrive our divine destination with Salaam/Peace/Shalom, Ameen…….
