It's been a while since this post was made. I was looking online for Nigerians who are equally astrologers to connect with; and I saw this thread. I had to create a new password for NL; I haven't logged on here since 2018. If y'all still interested, y'all can send me an email aetosmegalos@outlook.com. I consult on astrology; I read the Tarot as well. I am currently researching and writing a book on Nigeria's leadership history, with a focus on predicting patterns for the 2023 elections and the new dispensation. I attached an image showing four mundane maps of remarkable dates in Nigeria's history.

seyewest:Hahahahaha! I've been accumulating those miles on Star Alliance Network. Hopefully they should come in handy in future trips. I'd definitely share transcripts. Thanks bro |
OmoBendel24:Thanks a lot. |
Hi Seyewest and everyone. Good evening. Good job you all have been doing since the last time I shared my JFK POE transcript in August 2017. So I have a concern. I've been planning a vacation to the US for July/August. But I'm also supposed to go for a conference in Johannesburg on July 13 to till 19. I have a LOS-JNB-LOS ticket already. But I intend to buy a separate return ticket (JNB-JFK-JNB) for the vacation and go to the US from Johannesburg. I'd allso pass through Johannesburg on my way back. I have valid, multiple entry visas for both countries. I decided on it because it costs cheaper flying from Johannesburg to JFK than from Lagos this period. The prices are really cutthroat. And it would also be too much stress coming back to Lagos on July 19 and then head to the US after two days as this is the only period I'd be free from work. I intend to extend the return date for the LOS-JNB-LOS ticket to accomodate the JNB-JFK-JNB ticket. I plan to spend two or three weeks in the US. I may also be carrying extra luggage for separate clothes because both countries have different weather this period. Plus my laptop and camera (I am a journalist). I hope this will not be an issue for me arriving at the US from a country that is not my nationality. At least I also have my return tickets for both countries as well as valid visas. Kindly advise. Thanks. |
I got both emails. I think the best thing is to call them on the phone or even tweet at them |
ama32:Proposed discipline. |
ama32:Lol! Yeye dey smell for jankara market. You'd have to do your accrditation at Federal Scholarship Board. Make sure you have your photocopies and originals as clearly stated. Photocopies should be placed in two separate envelopes. You will be placed in panels according to your discipline. It is pasted on the wall at FSB. Then proceed to Top Rank for the interview. Write your nam when you get in and wait for your panel to be called. Questions: Current Affairs and Relevance of your course to Nigeria's development. Good luck |

I wonder how certain people can be so full of shit! Like, do you mean you still have that primary and secondary school competitive attitude? And you are supposed to be going for a Masters or PhD? Lighting up other people's candle does not dim yours or prevent it from shining brighter. Or what are you afraid of? It is people like you who stay hungry cos they keep having beef with other people while they got none in their refrigerator. I guess that is why you are so mad and bitter. Before you call me a hypocrite, know me first. Or better still, don't. If I wanted to read you, I would have asked why you are still here with your geoarcgis when your mates are working at ESRI or are the software developers, if you even know what ESRI means, but I would not bother myself because life has already read you, so girl again, bye! |
Some people's attitude stink so much that they need a thorough shower. Whoever the arcgis is, so you think people asking for how the interview went is "expo?" Seriously queen? Girl bye! I can't even deal with you. You need to go fix yourself. |
Hi All Has anyone been interviewed today for pepple that are supposed to, today. Kindly share details. |
pricelessjosy:Click on the link for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship. Log in with your previous details and you will see your previous application for the Commonwealth Scholarship |
New date has been set. 14-17th march |
Did anyone do the accreditation today? |
I just spoke with the woman, she said I can come do the accreditation tomorrow but that the interview has been postponed |
Renny111:How true is this? I arrived Abuja on Sunday |
I just arrived Abuja yesterday. Why are they like this? |
Hello Grandeur. Which of the VFS offices did you apply through? Lagos or Abuja? I have a conference in Italy next month, and i don't know which of the offices I can apply for a quick response. Grandeur007: |
Overdue Post: #LongPostAlert Tussle with officials at the MMIA, Lagos I travelled on August 8 for the Youth Assembly at the UN in New York; I flew EgyptAir from Lagos to Cairo to JFK. The EgyptAir officials (the ones that check your passport and bag, not the ticketing officers) at MMIA tried all they could to make me not travel. But as a journalist and human rights activist that I is, they had no choice but to let me. They were just looking for excuses to stop me or they simply wanted gbalamu, which I was not prepared to give anybody. First they asked why I was travelling to the US, I told them I was attending a conference. They asked what type, I said UN Youth Assembly. I guess because of my small body they scrutinised me well and asked for my IV letter and passport. I gave them. They asked for my hotel reservation, I gave them too. They did not know what else to say. Three different officials inspecting me, trying to point out a flaw in my documents. But they could not find any. Then they asked how much I had with me. I told them $350 cash, but that I had my VISA card with me. And besides, I had already pre-booked for my expenses before traveling, including hotel reservation and return flight from JFK to Austin and JFK. Then they saw their opportunity, and immediately told me I wouldn't be travelling as I needed to carry up to $2000 on me. I told them there was no way I was going to carry that amount of cash on me. It was not my first, second or third time of traveling out of the country. What's the use of the VISA card and cashless policy. Even the Americans don't carry such amount of money on them. They said it is a rule. I had to argue with them and told them part of the UN safety guidelines for conference attendants was that we should avoid carrying plenty cash. They said I should show them the email. I brought out my phone to show them and they said I must print it out. I went to print two pages of the email for N2,000 to show them. They insisted I should give them the copy I printed. I told them there was no way I was going to spend that amount to print just two pages of email, which they made me do, and still expect me to leave it with them. I went and made photocopies and brought it back to them. They started another round of scrutiny. Then finally snapped all the documents I gave them, gave me back and asked me to go check in. I was really angry that I spent over 25 mins arguing with them. I went, checked in and proceeded to my gate. I got to the first immigration guy, he took my passport and customs declaration form. After going through it, he asked for their "own share". I said share of what. He said I have to drop something for them. I said I don't have anything to drop. He kept my passport aside and attended to a lady after me. Then he asked where I was going and why I was traveling, I told him. He asked my profession, I said journalism. Then he handed me my passport. I proceeded to the other two immigration officers who were supposed to stamp me out. The first man looked at me then asked where and why I was traveling. I told him. He said which media do I work for. I told him I used to write for PUNCH but resigned few months ago and I now manage a lifestyle magazine. He said ok and gave me my passport. Then I moved to the second officer who asked same questions, I told her. She asked if I was a student (I get that a lot because of my baby face). I smiled and told her I am a journalist. She asked how old I am, I said I'd be turning 30 on September 16. She said I don't look it. She asked if I'm married, I said no, but that my younger brother is married. She asked what I was waiting for and all that; I laughed and told her things happened blah blah blah. She was jovial and we chatted a bit then she said God bless you. I moved. Then, after passing through the security, the immigration guy just asked me where, why I was traveling and how much I had with me. I had had enough, I simply blurted out $350 cash and $1700 on my visa. He let me go. I heaved a sigh of relief. Flight experience EgyptAir flight from Lagos to Cairo was not the best flight experience I've had so far in my travel history. The flight attendants never smiled at all. They acted as if they were being forced to do their jobs. I remember someone tapped one of the attendants to ask them a question and he just turned and asked why he tapped him. To me, that was not courteous of a flight attendant. I don't like to be touched in public or when someone behind me on a queue at an ATM needs to ask me a question, but if I was being paid as a flight attendant, it should come with the job. The aircraft itself was bleh. We left Lagos at 1:25pm and got to Cairo at past 8 I think (difference in time zone factored in). It was a five hour flight. We waited at the transit area for a little above one hour before we were transported to the hotel. Layover was 12 hours. The hotel was good. Dinner was really nice two. Breakfast included. Next morning, we were on our way to JFK. Flight attendants from Cairo to JFK were really nice. 11+ hours flight. Entertainment system was really good. Only issue I had was that the adjustable knob for my seat was broken and I sat in upright position for 11+ hours. Then the old man behind me wouldn't stop coughing...and the tall guy in front of me wouldn't stop adjusting his seat. But as the fearless Naija that I is, I kept cautioning him. We left Cairo at past 9am and got to JFK at 3:15pm. Immediately the pilot touched down and started taxiing, all the MENAs in the plane started clapping. I was like "Is that how you pipu use tu do? Issorai" JFK POE Experience I really did not waste time at the POE. I disembarked from the plane. Went straight to immigration. Joined the queue people on B1/B2 visa. I used the electronic CBT to fill in my details. Then when it got to my turn, I went in to face the immigration officer. Officer: *smiling* Good afternoon. Passport please and why are you in the US. Me: *smilingback* Good afternoon. I'm attending the Youth Assembly at the United Nations. Officer: How long are you here for? Me: I'm here till the 29th of August. Officer: *stampsmypassport* Enjoy your stay Me: thank you I went to carry my box, then took the Airtrain to NYC subway station, bought my weekly ticket and proceeded to my hotel. I left NY after the conference to Austin. I'm due back in Naija next week. Meanwhile, anyone with useful info or thread link to Italian visa processing and POE experience for Italy. I'm due to travel two weeks after I return to Naija for a UNESCO conf and all the visa application threads I saw are not current and are about Italian visa delays. The visa takes 15 business days minimum for processing and I have just 10 days before the date I'm supposed to travel. |
Yes, I will be in the hotel. seyewest: |
The Youth Assembly is for four days... Then the remaining 17 days will be in Austin. seyewest: |
Hey Guys, So I'm back again. I've got a few questions and I'd appreciate your input. This is my first trip to the US BTW. 1. I'm traveling in two weeks, August 8, flying Egypt Air to NY. I've already paid for a hotel in Brooklyn for three nights. But it's different from the one I used for my visa application (I had to cancel it because it wasn't really as nice as the new one and I was supposed to pay on arrival). I hope that won't be an issue? 2. I'm attending the Youth Assembly at the United Nation from August 8-12 in New York, after which I'd be going to Austin, Texas till August 29 when I'd return to Nigeria. I have my return ticket already for NY -Austin-NY. Which address do I fill in? 3. My host in Austin is a friend and an American. Do I ask the person to send me an invitation letter in case I'm asked at the POE? 4. My cousin (not direct blood cousin) lives in Hampton, Virginia. She just emigrated last year with her daughter, to meet her husband, who is also my cousin. She had asked me to bring some foodstuff for her and some hair extensions too. But during my visa application, I filled that I do not have any family in the US. What possible response can I give? Or can I say I brought them for a friend? 5. What's the minimum amount of cash to carry? Is $300/$400 fine? I have up to $1000 on my VISA card. Graçias. |
I got the sms. Mine is on July 18. |
I just got back from Kenya. Travelling first week in August. Will fly Royal Air Maroc. POE is JFK |
seyewest:So I picked up the passport today. It's B1/B2 for two years and without Annotation. |
Ok. Great. Thanks so much. KaptainAfrika: |
Definitely, I don't plan to miss the conference. I will attend. One more thing, can I fly directly to New York instead before the actual date I am supposed to travel. I just want to be able to look around and do some tour. I will not have time to do that during or after the conference as I have to return to work. Thanks so much. KaptainAfrika: |
I haven't picked up my passport yet. I will do that on Wednesday. I know they usually give a combined class of B1/B2. Or if it's just B1, Can I still travel to the US subsequently with same visa after the conference? KaptainAfrika: |
Hello, good afternoon. I applied for a B1 visa three days ago to attend the Youth Assembly at the UN and it was approved. It is supposed to hold in New York this August, 9-12. But I plan to travel to Austin in mid July before attending the conference in August from there. I filled in JFK and a hotel in NY in the DS-160 I submitted for the visa interview, and that I will be staying for only 6 days. But I want to fly directly to Texas in July. What do you advise? |
