ikp120: JAMB should even be scrapped. Most stakeholders understand that.
I got admitted into Oklahoma State University, USA, years ago after my SSCE. I didn't write any foreign exam whatsoever to gain the admission. I later wrote SAT just for scholarship.
Nigerian education system na big trash! you see. Nigeria is the only place where you write three exams just to gain admission |

This man is very correct. you don't write any exam again abroad provided you have your five o level credits, but here after spending six years to write waec you will still jamb and write post UTME again. haba una wan kill persin |

Education › Govt(jamb) Cause Of Bsc And HND Discrepancy by rollybest(op): 7:04pm On Aug 23, 2017 |
From the recently concluded policy making meeting, and the eventual release of cut off Mark by jamb, it will be observed that the inferiority of HND to Bsc is caused by the govt not employers. If not why will the cut off Mark of universities be 120 and polytechnics 100.If the govt wants employers to rate HND the same as Bsc,the cut off Mark for admission should be uniform between universities and polytechnics |

armadeo: Rubbish.
Any score below 50% of the total is complete nonsense for any ReaSon. If only one person passes then he should gain admission others should come back next year
This is what happens when standards are compromised. We then get half baked graduates who don't know their left from right. After all they hold a certificate.
Nairaland topic be like see corpers statement on the social media or see graduate's application letter.
Let's call a spade a spade.
If you support this then go learn a trade you shouldn't be educated.
Nonsense
Modified..
The dude above me is very funny. An examination body tells you not to admit anyone who scores below 25%. Does that make sense?
The registrar or whoever came to this decision should be fired for incompetence. You that is educated, look at your use of English |

Education › Re: Nigerian Private Universities With The Biggest Landmass by rollybest(m): 9:53pm On Aug 16, 2017 |
nextstep: To be honest, the tuition is worth 1Mil. (about $3000 USD). The cheapest public universities in US start at $9000 or so; UC Berkely, at a higher end is $50,000 for tuition and fees for non-residents. Public, not private. 1 Mil is a minimum to employ good professors, pay for electricity (gen) and other going concerns, get and maintain standard equipment, computers, libraries, buildings, security, groundskeeping, etc. This is for quality education that is recognized worldwide.
The alternative is that parents spend upwards of $20,000 USD to send children abroad to get that same quality.
Our public universities have been heavily subsidized for so long that they mask the true cost of education in today's world. I'm not saying subsidization of education is a bad thing, but the government has proven its incompetence to provide services of value. oga did you consider the value of money. if our fees should be #20,000 because naira is our currently, $1000 is nothing there but something here. so if you want rate school fees use naira not another country's currency that is cheap for them there |

Sometimes i wonder what kind of government we have. why will they sign an agreement they can't keep? OK let's say the signing of the agreement was done by the previous administration, why has this present administration not called a meeting to look into the agreement considering the economic challenges? The answer is simple. it's because they don't care about education, it's none of their business.A state governor once said any sector that is not generating revenue for the government is not worth his attention. And education is the sector he was referring to because he said it when there was strike in the university |

As i write this piece tears is dropping from my eyes. This country has been paralyzed totally, the wickedness of humans is unbecoming. We have a government, people we stood under the sun for hours to vote for, yet they will sit down and watch and allow ASUU declare an indefinite strike because their children are not involved, what a wicked government, a government without conscience. They send their children abroad and they see how a school calendar is,continuous. But here in Nigeria is none of their business. The cause of GOD almighty will always be with them. am an aspirant, i don't even know when we will be given admission. I also blame the USELESS SUG across all the universities, youth that should stand for justice have turned themselves to thugs fighting among themselves because of money. It is a time like this that the SUG $NANS stands for the students future, protesting peacefully and preventing all government activities until the strike is called off, even if it means preventing the president (acting),governors from going out, stopping the national assembly from sitting. THIS IS PURE WICKEDNESS the heart of men is filled with evil when the one i call a pastor heading the nation's affairs currently. please forgive any grammatical error (s) |
