OAP Toke Makinwa has said that China is now profiting from the coronavirus pandemic while the rest of the world battles against it.

A man, identified as Collins aka C-money, was apprehended in Akure, Ondo State, for allegedly absconding with the sum of $41,000 (about N14.8million).
It was gathered that the suspect fled to Dubai with the money in November, 2019, after a successful deal with his associates.

He, however, returned to the country last week when he started running low on cash and was immediately picked up at his hideout.

He allegedly confessed to using the money to buy three cars and currently has about N2m left.

A worried passenger was pictured wearing a motorbike helmet on-board a flight from China to Australia over the fear of the deadly coronavirus outbreak.

Picture of the man’s attire was shared online by others on the flight from Shanghai to Perth on Wednesday morning.

The 18-year-old suspected internet fraudster, Victor Oji, who set his girlfriend Tolani Mariam, 24, ablaze in Iba Town in Ojo Lagos, was remanded on Tuesday by an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court.

The Magistrate, Mrs A. Kusanu, did not take the teenager’s plea, but ordered that he should be kept at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, Lagos, pending advice from the state director of public prosecutions. Kusanu adjourned the case until Feb. 19.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Jimah Iseghede, told the court that the defendant committed the crime on Dec. 7, 2019, at 10.00a.m. at No. G549, Army Post Service Estate, Iba Town.

He said that the defendant set ablaze his girlfriend because he suspected she was cheating on him. She later died from burns she suffered.

According to the prosecutor, the deceased told the defendant that she was going to visit her sister who was put to bed, adding that she returned to the boyfriend some days later.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Chairman for Olomu Ward 1 in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State, Paul Onomuakpokpo, was shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen last night Wednesday January 8th.

Onomuakpokpo who was until his death, the Olomu Tipper unit chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, was gunned down along Ogoni Road near the palace of Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom. He was said to be driving in his Toyota Camry when the gunmen ambushed him and rained bullets on his car. He died instantly. His attackers fled the scene shortly after they ensured he was dead.

A mild panic occured as his escorts tried to work their way out before a solution was found 30minutes after.
