Upload all `authentic’ graduates for NYSC, VCs tell
universities

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC) has urged universities
to upload the names of all eligible graduates for the 2016
Batch `B’ of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
A statement by CVC on Tuesday in Abuja said that the
committee’s stance was sequel to its meeting with the
Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Sule Kazaure.
The statement was co-signed by Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, CVC’s
President and Prof. Michael Faborode, the committee’s
Secretary-General.
NYSC had in a memo to universities recently, directed them to
cut their mobilisation for the scheme by 60 per cent due to
financial constraints.
The CVC said that the stakeholders agreed with NYSC that
paucity of funds was responsible for the slash in the
percentage of mobilisation.
It said that its meeting resolved “that all authentic
graduates of universities be uploaded by universities for NYSC
to mobilise as appropriate.
“All universities are expected to comply immediately and
ensure that graduates of part-time programmes and over-aged
graduates are not included in their list.
“The CVC and the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian
Universities (AVCNU) plead with the government and the
National Assembly to provide resources needed for full
mobilisation to stave off impending problem of partial
mobilisation.
“We appeal to all graduates and prospective corps members to
show understanding and exercise restraint while awaiting further
directives from NYSC.’’
The statement said that the CVC meeting with NYSC authorities
was preceded by one with the Executive Secretary of the
National Universities Commission on the issue.

NYSC TIPS/BRIEFING
1. Online registration starts on 17/10-12/11
2. Each camp allows maximum of 3000 corp members. For those of you that want to serve in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Akwa Ibom etc do not fail to register on the first day.
3. State of origin and state of study is exempted i.e you can't serve there.
4. No registration by proxy.
5. Apply for redeployment in the case of marriage, life treatening health issues like sickle cell anemia etc, insurgent states.
6. Incase of marriage upload marriage certificate, husband driver's license, international passport(if any), husband's residence address online.
7. Incase of life treatening health issues, upload a doctor's report(govt hospitals only) online.
8. Incase for any reason u couldn't go to service with ur batch, complete ur online registration and apply for revalidation whenever you wish to go.
9. Nursing mothers and pregnant women do not stay in camps.
10. Online Registration is #3000. You have an option not to pay the #3000 and collect your call-up letter from student affairs but trust me its definitely not going to cost nothing less than #3000
N/B Pay the #3000, u have an option of printing out your call-up letter again incase of loss.
11. Register with a working E-mail and phone number. Your call-up number will be sent to the number you provided, while you can print out your call-up letter which will be sent to your E-mail address.
