Can these leaves affect signal strength? My 1.8m on Eutel 16A could only offer 68% quality and MyTV cracks badly. I'm in FCT and d lnbf is Strong C&Ku band combined. House pls

@all..NB.!!!before anyone upgrades or patches any strong decoder, they should first do a backup of the original software . This could be used to wake the decoder up incase it decides to go into deep sleep.

To my bosses pls I have one assignment o. There this 2.4m local dish without the lnb rod [holder] Which I want to install. I don't no how I can determine the focal point. It's a prime focus dish. I want to use it for Irib. How do I no d measurement of the 3lnb holder to get my focal point. Attached is the dish pix. Any assistance is welcome

NB: I want to no if the dish doesn't require painting to get signal

Focal pt. is 915mm, measured perpedicularly from dish inner centre & towards d lnb holder.

@SweetWJ, again u are making definite assertions even when u have no evidences to substantiate. That u did installation 4 a customer & d SRT 4940 was slow when switching channels - could have been dish, lnb or some other problem. I'm no agent of MYTV but I think u need to b doubly sure on some of these things b4 making such grand assertions as u are doing. To say 'xyz' now about a product & later find out its not exactly true can b very unfair & damaging. Caution is needful here. Just my point

D error has been corrected. Could u believe dat d problem was d brand new 60cm dish?
After much of d hectic tracking without success, my instincts told me to use an old 60cm dish. When i did, behold, all d traffic lites became green in less than 3minutes.
Lesson: dont throw away all ur old properties, u may need them somday. Bt dont b stingy oo :>

Good u have eventually found d new dish to b d problem. But yourself, graphicicon, et all had faulted & condemned MYTV branded receivers - which wasn't d problem here. Maybe u need to correct those misinformation pls

If its C band, the lnb setting is "Single". That would enable u enter the band's 4-digit freq. I got that invaluable tip frm d great Sammu here.

Dear Forumites, I wish to relay a nasty experience I’m passing thro. I believe this is relevant because we certainly do need a TV set to watch FTA.

It began when I went to a major distributor of LG Electronics in Nigeria to buy a large-screen LG LCD TV.
It would be my 1st time owning an LCD and secondly, I’d secured an unusual discount (now useless) frm the store over this item. As a result, such was my wild excitement that when I asked that the item be tested and they told me item is ok & there was no need as I could always return it if defective, I had no reason to worry. And that was my error!

I got home, mounted it after 3days later & discovered the screen was badly cracked! Upon return to the store, they were all saying “but you shld have insisted on it being tested before leaving na”. They also said it could have cracked while enroute from d store to my house. When I recalled the deceptive verbal guarantee & the haste with which the item was delivered and concluded frm d store, I knew better. After all efforts, I couldn’t get them to take responsibility, rather I ended up paying for the screen replacement which costs another half of the cost of item. After assuring me the replacement would come within 3 weeks of payment, its been 3 months now and d item is still lying in their store with no word on when replacement would come.
Wouldn’t wish my worst enemy this.

Lesson is that while in d shop, PLS INSIST on testing every electronic item b4 leaving wth it! Apology for veering off thread.

@EMMAACHILE, a million thanx 4 posting those pixs of motorised 1.8m. When u stated that any dish beyond 1.35m, u cannot but motorise, one can only imagine yr huge experience & knowledge in d area of constructing & setting up a motorised system. Though there's an archived thread on motorising big dishes in this forum (much thanx 4 d effort), d details are not sufficient. Even on d net, such info are sparse.
My brother, kindly share with us d details of d construction & installation - behind those cool pixs u posted above. kudos

Go for 1.8m if you have the space.

1.8m also allows mounting of C-Band lnbf in yr multi system. I doubt if d85w dish has this capability

Hello house, my old model TV set has only one A/V port. Problem is, my Strong stb is already connected to this port and I wanna feed signal from my new GOtv stb in also. Is it possible to route signal from GOtv stb thro Strong stb to d TV? (Pls pardon my digression)

Tech gurus in the house, i think the picture quality of old generation televisio that has a shootout back is the best compare to these new generation of LED tv, LCD tv, if u are watching LED tv or LCD tv, the picture seems to look like as it is zoomed, especially if u are watching and event that has multitude of people, so guys which flat TV has the best picture quality in terms of contrast and resolution size.

look at d specs. models wth "Full HD" give u great picture resolution. and if u are going 4 anything higher than 55" screen, then models wth "Ultra HD (4K)" which offer astonishing picture resolution would do - though they are more expensive.

I need azel bracket 4 my Strong 1.8m pan dish. wanna put it on a pole wthout motorising. in Abuja pls

its just that d offerings on d two aren't d same. my kids ar already used to jimjam. they always lookout 4 d jimjam logo & they keep monopolising d MyTV in d hse but I just got them their TV set

I want to appeal to u to rest this matter once & for all by doin d refund & reconciling wth yr aggrieved customer as suggested afore. Know that this does not amount to loosin out but rather living up to d good reputation some forumites put up in yr defence.
