The same guns being carted away by these hoodlums disguising as protesters will in turn be used on the same people who are praising them and condemning Buhari today. No body who has ever had encounter with criminals in his or her lifetime would support what these protesting thieves are doing. After this whole thing we may be faced with more armed robbers and kidnappers turning out in days ahead. May God have mercy on us all! |
We must be careful not to go the way of Libya. The UN and world powers supported the regime change sighting gross human right abuse. Where is Libya today? Where is the UN and the world powers who propagated the change. Libya has become the headquarter of all terrorist organisations in the world with no hope on sight for the return of order or any form of civil rule. Nobody laments about human rights abuse anymore as it has now become an acceptable way of living. Constructive engagement with the government remains the best option if Nigeria must avoid the Libya model, and the blockage of major high ways and disruption of economic activities in states can never be the way forward. |
Wike , you have already passed judgement based on the contents of your broadcast. So, needless of setting up any panel, on less you are talking about appeal panel. "Who you deceive die well" |
The protest is now dead and buried with the declaration of curfew. You don't ground economic activities in states, block major high ways, burn down police stations and kill police officers and still believe you are carrying out civil protests. The youths missed a golden opportunity to constructively engage the government to bring about lasting reform of our security formations. The whole struggle was completely turned into a display of rascality rather than showcase of ideas by the supposedly leaders of tomorrow. The police force mirrors how we are as a country; insisting and achieving its reform without bringing in other political issues could have been the best. You have to count 1 before getting to 2 and progress in that order. There is never going to be a quick fix to Nigeria complex problems. |
The ENDSARS Protesters derailed from their main objectives the moment they became political calling for the resignation of the president. You don't expect those who supported and voted Buhari into power to fold their hands and watch while attempts are made to make the country ungovernable for their man. They will certainly deem such a move as unacceptable and people behind it as political opponents. Where were those calling for the resignation of the president during the last election? If they were serious and not mischievous the same energy being expended now should have been used to enthrone the kind of change they are calling for now. Another election year is fast approaching, come 2023 the same youths protesting now will be the ones campaigning for the same persons they are referring to as old politicians, brandishing t-shirts with pictures of the 'old politicians' imprinted on them. |
So, the national assembly members are just waking up now to realise that the very loan deal deliberated and approved on the floor of the same assembly contain clauses that undermine the sovereignty of Nigeria. And I ask: are these people still being paid salaries for doing nothing? What a shame! The Honourable Minister of Transportation honouring their invitation was simply a show of honour and respect to the red chamber. He ought not to be there in the first place after doing the same during budget defence. |
