TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by rowlandwhy: 5:55pm On Apr 07
Hello all,

Please i have a question.

Since i do not have any family member in Canada who can issue me an invitation letter and wish to visit the country just for sightseeing, can I apply for a visiting visa as a tourist?

I checked the IRCC visitor's visa page that there is a category for such (see attached) but i just want to throw it open here to see if anyone has apply and received a positive feedback under this category.

Thanks,

Hello Everyone,

Please i just got my visa and have started looking for hospitals. I need some guidance on how to go about this. I plan to give birth in Edmonton, Alberta as that is where I have family.

Someone recommended 2 community hospitals but i couldn’t find an email on their website just phone numbers. Also am I supposed to contact the hospital or an obgyn. Should I send an email or call first?

Please assist me. I am 25 weeks gone and I hear they stop accepting patients when they start reaching 30weeks.

If you have Dr’s I can contact. Please also share thanks a lot.

Thank you.
please what is the recommended minimum account account on the bank statement?
PhonesWhat Happened To Glo Network? by rowlandwhy(op): 11:03am On Mar 09
Can someone please educate me on what happened to the globacom network?

This business was flourishing and I was proud that we had a Nigerian telecommunication service provider who even expanded into Ghana, but all of a sudden, it seems like they dropped the ball and the network got drowned.

In most places in Nigeria, there is barely glo service, in Ghana, i think its totally off now.

What happen to glo? is it political or mismanagement or some people prefer to have foreigners in this telecommunication sector?
Thanks

Hi all,
please has any one been able to cover medical costs related to childbirth in Canada via an international health insurance scheme?
OR
must all foreigners pay the medical bills in cash and later get reimbursement from the insurance company?
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by rowlandwhy: 11:28am On Mar 04
clayfounder:
If you state medical as your purpose for visiting Canada, the visa officer will expect a letter from a Canadian doctor confirming your medical treatment for childbirth plan. However, most Canadian doctors are unlikely to issue such a letter without proper arrangements, especially since many hospitals are already struggling with limited space for residents.
Because of this, many people choose to apply for a regular tourist visa instead then arrange for childbirth.
okay, thanks for your response, i just want to be transparent as possible to avoid issues at the POE as my wife will be visibly pregnant during the time of travel.

UPDATE

Passport arrived yesterday with 3 months multiple entry visa. 10 days for each stay - to attend meetings and conferences only.

April 16 - Application submission

April 17 - Application arrived at High Commission

April 17 - Sent Speedpost requesting for expedient processing. Mail was not received because they had started Easter break a day earlier.

April 22 - Mail man returned with the letter (11am).

April 22 (3pm) - Passport request

April 23 - Passport submission

April 24 - Passport returned

My staff evisa is still under processing.
Why will they give someone just 10 days to stay? huh huh
What if you have other businesses that might need you to stay for more than 10 days?
These guys are not being fair honestly.

This is not true please. I submitted mine and my spouse's along with our passports and three other applicants before us did the same thing. The choice is actually yours and they will let you know. At least I was told so at VFS in Port Harcourt. You will also get to sign a waiver for them to keep your passport for at least 21 days. If for any reason you ask for your passport back before expiry of the 21 days, you forfeit your application.
I submitted my application via VFS Abuja office in December, they told me to keep my passport, It will be requested via email if my visa is approved.
I got an email asking for my passport 2 weeks ago, i sent it via DHL(because I've already left the country). I got it back this week with my visa.

But what is causing the delay..I need my passport jare..I need to travel by ending of the month..they should just return our applications 🤔 Why is SA Visa taking this long?
But they no longer collect passports along with the applications.
They will only ask for your passport when the visa decision has been made.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by rowlandwhy: 10:42pm On Feb 12, 2025
Hi all, I applied via VFS Abuja mid December but was asked to submit my passport last 2 weeks, which I did.
The visa was issued just after 2 days of submission. The problem is that instead of 2 years business visa, they gave me 2 months visitor's visa.

Your visa is valid for two months from the day it was granted. In other words, it expires on 4th April, 2025.
These guys are really funny, How can one apply for 2 years business visa and you are giving 2 months? I'm not going for vacation huh sad
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by rowlandwhy: 6:24pm On Feb 07, 2025
Hi All,
I've received my passport with the visitor's visa.

To the SA visa experts here, can you please check the visa attached and tell me how long this visa can be used to enter South Africa?
I see its a multiple entry visa and I must travel on or before 4th of April, 2025, and for each trip I mustnt spend more than 30 days in the country, however I don't know how long the validity is. I applied for 2 years visitors visa but I'm not sure what has been issued here.

Thanks,

Bro, send your passport to your mum, dad , sis ,or relative. Simple as ABC. THEY WILL FIX THIS FOR YOU. IT'S JUST TO SUBMIT AND PICK UP. YOU MAY NEED TO GIVE THEM LETTER OF AUTHORISATION FOR THAT. CALL VFS NUMBER.
thank you Hunee
just that VFS is not taking their calls, after the automatic message the line goes off.
I sent an email since Tuesday and still havent received a response yet

Did you apply for courier if yes, they will and I think there is collection by proxy please confirm
Yes, i applied for them to courier back to Port Harcourt via GIG logistics with expectation that the visa will be issued on time when i will still be in Nigeria, but they they delayed and i had to travel.

So, the previous address was Port Harcourt, now I'm somewhere around Central Africa and dont know how to inform VFS to change my return address to where I am currently.

Hi All,

Please I will travelling to SA next year January, I'm working for an international organization and the SSA headquarters is in South Africa.

They want me to apply for a multiple entry business visa for 2 years to enable me travel in and out without waiting for visa per trip.

I've gathered the required documents, but need clarifications on below:

1. Bank Statement - I only downloaded the stamped and signed pdf version from my bank's internet banking platform, will this be accepted?
2. Birth Certificate - I have a copy of my BC in my flash drive, can i just print it out and add to the application, must i get it certified before it will be accepted?
3. Yellow Fever Card - My yellow fever card was issued in Ghana when I was there, must I have one issued by Nigeria authorities.
4. Payslips - Can I add like 3 months payslips to support my application?

i will submitting the documents via VFS Abuja next week and will appreciate any tips to get successful.

Thanks a lot.
