US Hospital Deny Knowledge of Surgery letter on Kalu's wife.

The Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts has denied ever requesting surgery on Kalu's wife, Ifeoma Ada Kalu according to information obtained from the hospital by Saharareporters.

An assistant to Dr. Peter Black, Heather Galvin who purportedly signed the letter sent to Kalu to seek his consent for the brain surgery denied that his principal Dr. Peter Black would ever sign such a letter.

In fact the Hospital management said they are investigating the source of the letter and may involve the police to fish out those behind the forged letter. They insist during repeated inquiries from our reporters that the signature on the letter was not that of Peter Black, MD.

Information gleaned from another department of the hospital shows that  Ifeoma Ada Kalu was not scheduled for surgery today or any time known to the Neurosurgery department. The hospital sources revealed that the last time she came for an MRI at the hospital was in 1999.

The former governor of Abia State is currently on bail after he was arraigned for money laundering offenses by the EFCC. In a sworn affidavit presented to a Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday, Orji Uzor Kalu sought the court permission to travel to the US in order for him to grant consent to doctors at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, an teaching affiliate of Harvard University so that they can perform brain surgery on his wife, Ifeoma Ada Kalu.

The former Governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Kalu, has sought the permission of a Federal High Court in Abuja to travel to the United States.

Kalu made the request through an ex-parte application, which was dated August 2, 2007.

In the application, a copy of which was obtained in Abuja on Tuesday, the former governor said he needed to be in the US to give consent to a brain surgery on his wife, Ifeoma.

He, therefore, asked the court to direct the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release his international passport since the surgery would be done on August 8 (today).
