my point exactly is how well do they fare when faced with a stranger because of their size I don't think they can run that much and the guard instinct you mentioned is in almost every dog I think . You don't have to train a GSD as I didn't train mine neither do you have to train rottweilers or boerboels.

My last Caucasian shepherd runs faster than he appeared, and no stranger actually waited for him to run before they ran so I've pretty much not experienced him chasing a stranger but he was quite fast for a very large breed.

Hello petlanders. I have questions concerning large breeds like Caucasians.Dont get me wrong I love them because of their size , their security consciousness and ability to intimidate strangers. But how fast are they considering their size when it comes to chasing intruders because I have a GSD and I think they are quite fast and agile when on the loose. Can someone enlighten me please.

I love Caucasian shepherds too but in terms of speed and agility I don't think they can ever come close to German shepherds...but with personal experience I'd say Caucasian shepherds are better guard dogs, it comes to them naturally, they don't have to be trained to guard..As long as they are well bred Caucasian shepherds they'll guard till their last breath

I was a young man with passion for animals most especially dogs and over the years I've learnt to earn money by doing what I love.
Growing up I had rabbits, parrots and dogs, I spent at least a total of about 6hours daily making sure all my animals were well fed cleaned and socialised . The urge to make money from my very loved animals started when I was walking two of my dogs (German shepherd and Dobermann), I spotted a very large man of about 40 with a very large mastiff type of dog accross the road, I was so fascinated with the size of the dog and how muscular he appeared that I had to hurriedly run back home with my dogs so I could meet up with the man while I still could, fortunately for me I caught up with him and we started a conversation while standing by the road, the man was very suprised how calm and relaxed I was with him even as his very large mastiff type of dog was staring at me. We talked about dogs and from that day on I became a regular visitor at his house and became very close to all his dogs and family. after many days of visiting and learning from him I later found out the very large muscular dog I saw him with for the first time is indeed a southafrican mastiff also known as the Boerboel. I wanted one so badly I had to talk to him about selling a pup to me because one of his female dogs had puppies at the time, I was very suprised when he told me he sells a pup for 100,000 ...wow!! was what ran through my head, I thought all dogs fell into the same price range as my German shepherd and Doberman pinscher dog I had back at home. I remember quite well that I bought my 2 German shepherd for 30,000 each then and my female Doberman for 50,000#. at this time I decided to learn the basics of breeding dogs do I decided to mate my female dogs with my males when they were on heat. .my two females got pregnant and the older female 'Chelsea gave birth to 8puppies and the younger female to 11. at about 6weeks after Chelsea had her puppies I started getting calls and visits from people most especially vet doctors and some private individuals that were interested in her pups, the least amount I sold a pup to my clients then was 23,000 and the highest was a male puppy a man from akwa ibom offered to pay 55,000 for because I initially didn't plan on selling all the pups. that was the period my business was born. Now back to the story...The next year I was able to raise some money and I bought 2 puppies from my then mentor at a total price of 180,000 and I kept them behind for breeding. over the years the Lord as been so good and everything was fine so I had to go into the business totally by starting royal shepherd canine services.
Just as most other businesses are Dog breeding is a highly profitable business but it has its risk as any other animal farming business because it has to do with a living thing but, if you follow a proper breeding practice method and keep your top quality dogs that are well fed and cared for health wise in tact then you have a very good business.
