I wish NEMA would go on air and start creating serious awareness about this impending danger rather than just giving a report about it to the authorities. They should also start teaching the public likely to be affected some survival skills. Those that need to be relocated should also be moved as this seems like its about to happen. I really wonder if that Dam can endure more rains. Boats should be sent to Benue and Kogi in huge numbers to hasten rescue efforts in case this eventually happens. God Save Nigeria. |
What's Your price? Pls lemmie know. |

Ramcie: you are correct. The problem of Nigeria is created by Nigerians . Irrespective of those in power, we are who we are very lawless people. Always expecting the government to Do everything for us without us doing our quota. Till we learn to discipline ourselves, all this would continue. Where i stay presently, drainages were actually created and quite deep ones for that matter but what people living around here do is that, they pour the refuse into the drainage now the drainages are filled up to the brim. Just imagine what would happen if the whole place becomes flooded.. U can just imagine!True talk! Just last week it rained in my office and the market women nearby saw it as d perfect opportunity to dump their refuse into the drainages only for the junk to come pile up right at our Doorstep. We had to get waste disposal guy to come clear it up. Some people can be sooooooo dirty. |
This is really bad. But I doubt if the Govt is to blame. This is a natural disaster and no govt can stop Such. The only Responsibilty of the government is to manage the crisis and provide adequate and immediate help to the people. NEMA, work don land o! God, please help and protect your Children.

A road already submerged in water from river Niger in Lokoja. This picture was taken early last week so I can imagine how worse it has gone now.

For all those accusing the friend, here is the full story as reportred by punch. It sheds more light on the whole issue. When on September 15, 2012, Ugochukwu Ozuah, married Joan, his girlfriend of nearly two years; family and friends rejoiced with them at The Redeemed Evangelical Mission, Lagos. The 36-year-old man and Joan then stayed at the Whispering Palms, a beach resort in Badagry, for three days for their honeymoon. The couple’s joy was however cut short on September 20, 2012, when the groom was allegedly shot and killed by policemen attached to the Anthony Division. Ozuah, an indigene of Anambra State and Mechanical Engineering Graduate of the University of Ado Ekiti, was allegedly killed close to the UPS Bus Stop along Oworonsoki-Oshodi Expressway while dropping his friend off. The friend, Erikefe Omene, who came from the United Kingdom to attend the wedding, told PUNCH Metro that he still could not understand why the policemen shot the deceased. He said, “I went to visit Ozuah at his house at Oke Olowo Estate on Thursday. When it was around 10pm, I wanted to leave but he said taxis were not allowed into the estate so he decided to drop me off outside the estate where I would get a taxi. We got into his car, a Honda CRV, and he drove out. As we approached the expressway, there was an ash/blue car that stopped around the same time to drop someone. “An individual came out of the car which was now parked side by side with ours. Because of the manner with which it was parked, I didn’t know the type of car it was. Policemen approached the said car and I thought it was just a routine check so we didn’t pay it much attention. “Ozuah parked the car and we both alighted so we could stop a taxi but before he could shut the door, one of the policemen said, ‘Who’s there? Who goes there?’ And shot Ozuah who then fell flat on the floor. Individuals from the ash/blue car suddenly ran behind Ozuah’s car to where I was and I thought the policemen might come around to shoot. So, I ran back into the estate.” Omene said he went to the deceased’s house to inform his wife of what had happened. He said Joan, and her in-laws took another car and drove back to the scene. He said upon returning to the scene about 10 to 20 minutes later, he saw more policemen standing near Ozuah who was lying down in a pool of his own blood. He said, “By the time we arrived the scene, there were many policemen there. The Divisional Police Officer said he just received a phone call that someone was shot. I then told the DPO that it was a policeman that shot my friend. The DPO then asked me to explain and I narrated the story to him. He said, ‘Are you sure it wasn’t someone in black that shot your friend?’ “At this point, Ozuah’s wife started shouting that we should rush him to a hospital. Although he wasn’t moving, his body was still warm. So, we laid him on the backseat and her brother-in-law drove him down to the hospital.” Omene said he remained with the DPO and reiterated what had happened but the DPO was adamant, saying the killers must have been armed robbers in police uniform. Omene added that he and the DPO then drove to the hospital where the doctor said Ozuah was dead. It was learnt that Omene immediately went to the police station where he wrote a statement. Ozuah’s remains were said to have been deposited at the morgue of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja |

liyalla:So sorry, never intended to scare You away from eating noodles. Immediately I saw the article, I ran to cross check the instructions on the noodle packs I have at home. It simply states 1. Boil water 2. Add noodles 3. Add seasoning and you are ready to eat. Its the confusion that led me to asking for clarification here o. :-/ |
Please Note that I stumbled upon this write up on "Colours Of Life" Facebook Page and I can't but wonder, Have I been eating my noodles wrongly all these while? ![]() "BEWARE NOODLE LOVERS : COOKING INSTANT NOODLES IN WRONG WAY IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR HEALTH.. Many of us find it convenient to just cook a packet of instant noodles when we are hungry. Here is a piece of information to share so that we can remove the potential health hazard of consuming such foods. Maybe you should print this and pin it up in the kitchen or dining room as reminder or in your purse if you are always travelling. DO NOT IGNORE THIS ... Especially those fond of easy- to-cook Instant noodles. WRONG WAY OF COOKING NOODLES: Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot withwater, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat. This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structure of the MSG, causing it to be toxic. The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have eaten the noodles. CORRECT METHOD: 1. Boil the noodles in a pot of water. 2. Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax. 3. Boil another pot of water, add the cooked noodles into the hot boiling water and then turn off the stove. 4. Only at this stage when the stove is off, and while the water is very hot, add the flavouring powder into the water, to make noodle soup. 5. However, if you need dry noodles, remove the noodles and add the flavouring powder and toss it to get dry noodles." What do you think people?
