Nigeria cannot afford to rely on small-scale farmers using hoes and their children. We live in an era where mechanised farming, the use of technology, and supply chains are required to meet the country's growing population.

Nigeria is 22 times larger than Neatherland, yet Neatherland exports $100 billion of food products.

https://www.mylifeelsewhere.com/country-size-comparison/nigeria/netherlands

Now I agree with you. The problem isn't unavailability of land but the factors you mentioned and the USELESS govt we have in the country.

Just imagine a country that import top soil for agricultural purposes exporting agricultural products to Nigeria

These anti-protest protesters are just looking for relevance.

It's clear that some people will always find a reason to complain, even when the country is moving forward.

Tinubu is focused on development, while they are busy chasing shadows.

Let’s keep the momentum going, the real progress is happening!

This is how your Tinubu will end up creating monsters.

She added, “We are here, men, women and children all abandoned. Nigeria has no president. We don’t have a leader.”

When asked if they would now join the nationwide protests expected to kick off on Thursday, the women said, “Yes, we will join the protest.”

Where are the protest organizers to have arranged transportation for the protesters?

This govt have impoverished the people so much that they can't afford transportation.

Since they can't afford transportation fares, they can afford to trek. So allow them trek like you suggested earlier

They should make.the attempt of trekking first

grin cheesy

Orr! But you said they should trek nah.

Don't worry, if you people arrange for vehicles for them, they will have no other option but to trek on the way to the protest venue

Make Dem trek now.

Ogun state to Lagos is not that far. If they can embark on their trekking journey around 10pm, before 10am the next day, they would get to Lagos state

grin cheesy

You and Goke7 don't have an idea of what that request means.
Shey they where told to limit their protest at designated places and not to match on the streets? Then provide vehicles to convey them to the protest points if not they will 'trek' to venues in their larger numbers. I guess you know what that means

There is not enough farmland in Nigeria for poor people with 4 wives and 14 children to survive. Nigeria cannot depend on small scall farmer to meet the need of 220 million people and counting.

That's not correct. Don't use the conditions in Lagos or Abuja to reach that conclusion.

Nigeria has enough land for agricultural purposes.

Women groups need to focus on real issues instead of chasing shadows. APC is working hard for the empowerment of women, not scamming anyone.

What just happened is 'not scamming anyone' it is actually the 'real issues.' That's who you people are, criminals and exploiters. It's in you!

I refused to believe the afore bold assertion. These silly women know the antics a devilish government like the one Buhari’s handed over to and having a notorious penchant for criminality, can do anything against all odds. So it was their wicked greed for the oppressors of this nation and their wicked greed to support them that led then there.

Well, that's how you see it but I see a people browbeaten to that point by poverty and hunger.

You know, yesterday I was wondering if I was offered 10k to go and 'hold banners' and pictures taken grin if I wouldn't have done it considering what 10k is now

Uncle Dele Farotimi has spoken wisdom as always. Yoruba Ronu is not just a phrase; it's a call to action for all of us to reflect deeply on our identity and responsibilities.

We must stand united and be the voice of reason in these trying times. The strength of the Yoruba people lies in our unity and our culture, and it's high time we embrace it fully.

Let’s rally around our values and ensure that we protect our heritage while pushing for progress. This is the moment to rise and show the world the essence of Yoruba greatness.

Smart guy!

Trying really hard not to involve Tinubu and his govt.

Why are we quick to blame our leaders for every situation?

Did we not know that protests come with their own set of challenges?

Instead of playing the blame game, why not come together to find solutions?

Tinubu is doing his best in a complex situation, and we should support rather than criticize.

How about we rally around our leaders instead of just pointing fingers?

This set of politicians we have are people you call leaders.

Tinubu too is a leader?

Serves them right! Infact, they need to be flogged for constituting a public nuisance to sane people demanding for probity, equity, accountability, responsibility and good governance from a government that is entrench on corruption.

Racoon, if you followed the story, these women did go their to protest against the planned protest for bags of rice.
They were deceived. They were told it was palliatives they were to get from the LYING, FRAUDULENT Govt

If they truly believed in their cause, they would have made proper arrangements instead of causing a scene. Tinubu is focused on governance, not babysitting protesters. Let them sort themselves out while we move forward with development.

Yes I will keep searching the internet to spread truth, not lies. I have better things to do with the time I am using to find the records but I consider this time well spent if it is used to spread the truth. I see you are in a hurry to respond but I will take my time to find all available evidences to disprove the propaganda and lies your type type on the internet. Insult me all you can, I am old enough not to respond to insults. Let's talk like adults, and if it makes you feel better that I am underage, let's talk about the issues at hand. Insulting me does not change the facts. I am happy for the internet because in the past, it was difficult to access these archives and you guys will start telling lies in an attempt to rewrite history. Anyway I am not writing for you, I am writing for those who stand by truth, the young ones who don't have a sense of history and the older ones who life may have made them forgotten what really happened yesterday.

Don't mind those tribalism infested goons spreading lies.

Tomorrow is coming. We will all be in this country when power shifts away from them and they start crying again.
