If anyone had told me that I will be in this country for more than a year without hearing from the eloquent, 'always talking' FFK, I would have doubted it.

Hope he is fine?

Just checking on you, FFK?
I miss your well loaded, well worded (but harsh and uncivil most times) write ups.

NewHe:

That's the problem we're having in this country, the President said citizens and you are talking about politicians, please are they not citizens?

Good question!

Now answer, are they not citizens (Tinubu and his family inclusive) to make sacrifices for a better Nigeria?
Or is it only the 'non-political' citizens that should sacrifice?

It did. It was like a bribe to keep Nigerians happy while things were actually going bad.
It was mismanagement when you spent billions subsidizing fuel consumption while more important sectors like agriculture were virtually neglected.
The results are what you are seeing today when any little changes can throw the economy off.
It got so bad that all our refineries were dead and we had to import fuel!
We simply can't continue like that. If all the money spent subsidizing fuel was spent on Agriculture we would have excess food to export by now rather than cries of hunger everywhere.

The agricultural circle for food crops is one year. Subsidy has been 'removed' for one year now.
Where is the impact on agricultural produce today?
Where are the "excess food to export by now"?

The fuel subsidy wrecked the economy. Removing it was a bold action needed to redirect the economy towards a more productive one.
The ensuing inflation is the reason why every president before him chickened out from doing it. The economy can only grow from now, stronger and more resilient than before.
He didn't ruin the economy, he rescued it from total collapse.

Do you sincerely believe the subsidy is gone

What commitments have the politicians made themselves before expecting sacrificing from the citizens?
They are the gods the citizens should sacrifice to.

I'm aware of a recent 1Bn theft that occurred on the account of a state government in the North Central.

I don't know if I can trust the EFCC. I would really love to whistle blow.

These people looting our monies are basically a bunch of nobodies.

They can't even read or write.

Yet, in less than 6 hours, they moved 1 billion Naira and changed it into dollars.

That's the irony of it all

Ok nah.

"the Chairman and any other member may at any time be removed from office by the President acting on an address supported by a two-thirds majority of the Senate praying that he be removed for inability to discharge the functions of the Office (whether arising from infirmity of mind or body or any other cause of misconduct).”

Tinubu already have their unalloyed, predetermined support on any matter.

What ever he wants to do, he does.

Just 3 months and the figure is 36 per cent more than the N2.49bn earmarked for the President’s travel expenditure in the 2023 budget?
