The second edition of the Radiopalmwine Rap Mixtape Competition is FINALLY HERE. The First edition was a success, and hopefully, this will be a bigger one. By the end of the 1st edition competition, as voted by the public the TOP THREE were decided: Butafly, Koboko and Boogey, and as promised, they were featured on a track by top rapper: AQ, on the track One Day which premiered on this site, and also on various blogs in Nigeria.

The 2nd edition is here now, this time it’s just going to be one beat, produced by DJ Mewsic of Brila FM. Rappers are expected to drop their verses on the beat and send to radiopalmwine@gmail.com and princeofmixes@gmail.com, with Subject “Radiopalmwine/DjMewsic Mixtape Entry“. Please ensure that the subject of the mail is as stated above, so that your entry will be seen easily.

From the entries that will be received, a top 10 will be selected by the Radiopalmwine team and Dj Mewsic, and the Top 10 will be put on the site for people to vote for a Top 3 and the eventual winner. Each entry that makes the Top 10 will get non stop airplay by Dj Mewsic on Brila FM from time to time.

22nd of April is a very sad day in the Entertainment Industry of Nigeria, its the day our very own Oladapo Olaonipekun (Dagrin) gave up the ghost after days in the hospital from a ghastly accident and has left tears in the eyes of lovers of rap and hiphop music in Nigeria. Dagrin, 26, was a recording artiste, songwriter, rapper and performer. He was signed to his own label Missofunyin Entertainment and managed by Edlyne Records.

It two years and Olamide, Seriki and Tupengo have decided to dedicate this song to him, it is actually a remake of Olamide’s version off his debut album.

The Radiopalmwine crew has decided to put up a Rap competition, to give upcoming rappers a voice. The Rap Competition will be done every quater, and this edition is the premier edition.

We would be working with upcoming dope producer @Sencosonic who will provide three dope beats, and also a Master Dj @DJswaggz to make the Mixtape possible.

Ok this is how it works . . . . .

Upcoming Rappers would drop their best bars on one or more of the beats, and send their entries to radiopalmwine@gmail.com

The Radioplamwine crew would pick the best ten entries, who would automatically make the Mixtape, to be mixed by @Djswaggz and will premiere on major blogs Nationwide!

Once a top ten is chosen, a poll will be put up on this site for the public to vote a winner. All top ten entries will get uploaded and then, you all can decide who wins the competition.

He began his journey into music as a singer then later evolved into afro hip-hop. Like other rap artists he started out as a 2pac/Notorious BIG fan but also wanted to become the next James Brown or Michael Jackson.

His interest for music started at a tender age but he began to take it seriously during his time in university. He has a BSc. in Business Administration from Babcock University but prefers to focus his energy on the development and utility of his musical talent. It was at Babcock University he began to harness his talent in rap and ear for music and released “JA SI”, “Taste It”, “Ginger Me”, and “Shokulushoko”.
