bumzy4u:

Thanks the interview was ok, but was done in pure HAUSA,

thx to God for everything.
Hope to hear from them soon.

Best of luck friend!!!

If people says the place isn't okay 2 build carrer, you can turn around things 4 urself by the virtue of prayer.
Pray that God should favour u on the job despite the notion of "Breathless and bOy" as touching the job status.

wish u well on the job, in advance!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Glo Interview For 2pm Today by RUBRICS(m): 4:47pm On Aug 17, 2009
Rebarobyn:

I have never been to a glo interview but typical questions most corporate organisations ask entry level staff include:

tell us about yourself- you'll do a brief summary of your background, education, work experience, personal aspirations and goals (this question is mostly to test your eloquence, your composure and ability to stay on track and not digress from the question, it is generally to look at the way you talk and comport yourself. However, they may ask further questions on things you've said at this stage that interests them)

why do you want to with this organisation (glo)- is it the fact that it is a prestigious world class org., it is a challenging place to work, here you have an opportunity to praise glo as an org, but don't over-do it, you'll appear like a sycophant.

how do you think you can add value to us?---here you have to sell yourself, I am a broad minded person, I have the ability to see the bigger picture, I am a very fast learner and I easily adapt to change and this is what orgs. need in these days of fast changing economies and businesses etc.---pls know what you are saying o, don't shoot yourself in the foot!

have you ever had to work in a team, tell us about your role and achievements in the team?---make sure you focus on the team, don't blow your own trumpets, you will appear like you are not a team player. just say what your team achieved and how you contributed!

they can also ask you about the project you did in University?----an overview and what your results were ----they want to know if you bought your way through university.

They can ask you very personal questions about your family (which in most cases is to probe your sense of responsibility)? make them believe you love your family and they've been very supportive of you.

If you've worked before, they'll definitely ask you about where you've worked and what job tasks you performed there and your achievements, awards etc?, don't lie about what you've not achieved, be truthful

they'll also ask you why you left your former employer? the first rule - never bad-mouth your former employer!, you can say the job is not as challenging as you thought it would be, say you want to work in a place where you'll grow in knowledge, intellectually and career wise.

Finally they'll ask you--do you have any questions for us? I'd advise you not to say no, ask intelligent questions like---if you get employed, will glo at some point allow you to further your studies?? or you can ask about a new propaganda of glo and how the company intends to retain and attract new customers. but if you aren't confident of asking a question, don't bother!

I hope this helps, all the best!

@Rebarobyn,
that was a great tip posted there, kip it up

fabby26:

pls Rubbrics, are really sure that polyibadan don,t conduct post pce? And wht is the faith of someone with mpce score of 212 for E.Enginering? heard Polyibadan is very competative? Need ur reply pls.

@fabby26,when I entered in 2006,there wasn't any post pce exam, and there was nothing as such in 2007 & 2008 as well, So, I don't suppose u're gonna do any post pce exam.

As for your aggregate, u're exceedingly above the cut off mark, therefore, panic not.

Just be assurred that the first impression last longer i.e. ur performance in 1st Semester may determine ur GP at the end of ur programme.

Hi Rubrics, u sound like u've not uploaded ur scratch card cos if u have u would have seen the date of the said course and every other information such as venue and tme for the corse u applied for. If u are the one sitting for it i'd advice u quickly go and do so before the sites closes down on thursdat this week.

Thanks so much Mayjovial, but note that the exam slip carries the old date which is absolutely different from the new speculated date, Pls, any info about that?

Culture / Inter-marriage, The Positive And The Negative Side by RUBRICS(m): 5:34pm On Aug 10, 2009
Hello my people of Nairaland,

Is there anything bad for someone to marry from another Tribe?

Also, are there some tribes that are not advisable to get hooked to?

And what would you do if your parent disapprove the person you brought to them as a life partner because of his/her ethnic group?
Education / Re: Uniben Damns ASUU: Post Ume Date Is 25th And 26th August 2009 by RUBRICS(m): 5:15pm On Aug 10, 2009

Education / Re: Ibadan Poly by RUBRICS(m): 4:40pm On Aug 10, 2009
@Ben05moore, Poly Ibadan is still on strike with no definite date of resumption as @ the time of this post, and I think they don't normally do post pce exam for entry.
Family / Re: Would You Prefer A Functional Wife Or An Attractive One ? by RUBRICS(m): 2:21pm On Aug 05, 2009
Hey!!! look, this is not a matter of preference, you just have to be functional if you want to be a good wife,
cherished by all and sundry.

So portray yourself in a good manner and leave the issue of attraction to God who has formed you in His own image.
Family / Re: Would You Prefer A Functional Wife Or An Attractive One ? by RUBRICS(m): 9:58am On Aug 05, 2009
I want everyone to know that the real beauty of a women is not revealled in her outward appearance.(in the case of the attractive one mentioned).

But be rest assured that a good wife has all the attributes, be it functional, attractive, humble, friendly and B+ endowed in bed (according to you ).

So, the bottom line is every man should ascertain what he sees in his desired woman but be conscious of the fact in the first paragraph above

Therefore, be assured that a woman can be beautiful to behold but not functional in her duty as a wife.

Pls, don't run into relationship because of appearance, It is dangerous!!!!!!!!!
Education / Re: Ibadan Poly Students: Meet Here by RUBRICS(m): 12:03pm On Aug 03, 2009
estilo, d school is still on strike and there is no info yet. u can count on us, we'll get u informed as soon as any development surface. okay!
Education / Re: Ibadan Poly Students: Meet Here by RUBRICS(m): 4:10pm On Jul 30, 2009
@estilo, The Polytechnic, Ibadan is currently on strike and the strike has nothing to do with ASUU or ASUP, It is actually btw Akala(Governor) and the staff on increment on their salary but unfortunately, the Governor is turning a deaf hear to their chanting song of solidarity.

This means the strike is until further notice.

As for ur score, u're okay because cut off mark is 150.

Just prepare ur mind because there will be a lot of competitors as u begin ur course of study because the high standard of The Polytechnic, Ibadan cannot still be overemphasized if not only the disability of unpreditably indefinite strike she is used to.

Any way, with ur focus, u'll make it, I was once a student of the school.

If there is any development, I'll post here, take care

Infact my people, this is a terrible case that needs to be checked, how can someone continue to glory in killing his fellow men, obviously God can not be pleased with the vandalization of HIS works no matter the circumstances.
