Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Rubygold1: 9:21pm On Sep 30, 2022 |
Hi, could you please share your progress with regards your application? I have a sister whose situation is similar to yours. I intend to fully sponsor her invite to the UK for 3-4 weeks however the challenge we have is proving her ties back to Nigeria. She left her banking job about 2 months ago and has been trying to set up a fashion business, she currently sows and sells thrift shoes using her personal account-all these on a low key hence there are no documentations to serve as proofs for the upcoming business. Could anyone pls advise on how to go about this? Even if she registers the business under CAC now, will it make any difference? Since i intend to apply by the end of next month Good morning.
So, my sister is a medical doctor at an NHS in Norwich. She wants to sponsor my Visit visa trip plus Accommodation and feeding for the period I will be there with her. We have the same surname and she will be giving me her 6 months statement of account from her bank over there to apply for the visa.
I have a business that I do but I only use my personal account to do transactions for my business. I don’t have a CAC either as proof of being a business person, just the descriptions on each transactions I make; money coming in and out. Sometimes 400k and above comes in and out of my account for a year now. Can I use my personal bank statement as for the 6 months statement of accounts or that won’t be possible?
OR Do I just open a business account and start over from the beginning? |

I get it now. Thank you so much LagosismyHome: I thought it was an odd rule when I first heard it but hey that the rule in the UK....
Pregnancy is 40 weeks (EDD), so for SMP you need to be with that employer one week before the belle enter making that 41 weeks before you are due.....so you have to be with the employer one week before you got pregnant and then 26 weeks later still be working with them then that how you qualify for SMP..... 15 weeks before edd is your qualifying week. ( 41 comes from 26 +15)
This is the official statement:
The continuous employment rule: To satisfy the continuous employment rule you must have been employed by your employer for a continuous period of at least 26 weeks into the qualifying week.....The qualifying week is the 15th week before the week in which the baby is due.
However there are some exceptions that they allow if you cannot meet this . Read the official link https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/smp-eligibility |

Hello I am a band 5 Nurse working with a private hospital in the Uk. Could you please explain this continous period of 26 weeks into the qualifying week. Does it mean the woman must have worked for 26 weeks before getting pregnant before she can be entitled to SMP? LagosismyHome: There is SMP and MP .... since she joining mid way to her pregnancy, she might not qualify for SMP as it breaks this requirement : you have been employed by your employer for a continuous period of at least 26 weeks into the qualifying week..... however she should then qualify for MP
SMP and MP are not public funds....I am 100 percent sure of that... you can confirm online on .gov website as it the source of truth.

Why not advise her to go for Masters in mental health? With that she will be able to practice as a mental health Nurse in the UK. Endlessgrace: Thank you for the response.
First degree and experience is in public relations. She’s just trying to deviate to a course that is a little related to healthcare without needing to have a healthcare background |

Thank you for this. Please at what point do i pay the NMCN verification fee of 53,500? I have paid d $140 for NMCUK and i got a mail asking me to wait till they verify. log on to the NMC website to open an account then complete the self assessment of eligibility before applying. This costs £140. NOTE: UK NMC has 4 registration fields which are; Adult nursing, mental health nursing, learning disability nursing and children nursing. As a single qualified nurse in Nigeria, your application should come under Adult Nursing. http://www.nmc.org.uk. once you pass the self assessment of eligibility, you can go ahead and schedule your CBT.
theres a CBT test centre in lagos |

Hello my people.
Please when is the best time to start looking for agencies/employers? Is it after passing IELTS or after CBT?
Can anyone recommend an agency that provides services such as exam refund fee, movement with spouse benefits etc? |

Nice thread. Could u pls share with me the materials u used for CBT Exams? My email address is petitenurse1@gmail.com. I wish you all the best in your endeavours cchimaa: Hello travellanders,
I am a nurse in Nigeria.
I never planned relocating, but I wouldn’t want to bore us with my reasons for changing my mind. HOWEVER, THE MAJOR REASON IS MY CHILDREN’S FUTURE.
I became a nurse 15 years ago and majority of my mates are out of our dear country.
I have five (5) nursing diploma certificates, BNSc and MSc Nursing. Infact, I’ve started my Ph.D in Nursing Science (I’m suspending it anyway as I don’t know my bearing yet)
I have a fairly good job and my salary is a little above 200k.
A lot of my friends have encouraged me to relocate and work in Europe, but I had so much hope in Nigeria and was ‘team vacation’
My story changed August, this year.
So, I called a friend who relocated to the UK 14 years ago. She explained the process of relocating as a nurse to 5 different countries to me.
After discussion with my husband, parents and siblings, we decided that I should try that of UK.
I registered for IELTS and CBT that August and passed. Then, started the process on the nmc UK portal. I googled for an employer, got an agency, did interview and got the job. I paid the required fee.
My employer asked me to resume November, but I told them I wasn’t ready as everything happened so fast, and my decision letter wasn’t ready then. So, I used that as an excuse, although they felt disappointed. But I need more bonding with my kids as I won’t be traveling with them. They will have to join me after some months.
I’ve gotten my decision letter and visa now and will be moving before the end of January.
Why did I open this thread? 1. To learn from people that have done this in the past 2. To assist people going through the same process
I will answer questions concerning the process to the best of my ability and ask questions when I also need clarification (maybe when I want to start packing my bags)
IGNORE ALL ERRORS!!! |
