Or maybe a coward who knows his limitations and that he will flop outside Barca.
Na man. A coward is one who runs away from a genuine "challenge" using a "shadow" excuse to be 1-eyed king in the country of the blind!

EV's mentality of settling for an away draw is really putting the team in an awkward stance and needs to stop.

We had room for attack, more attack and more attack after we equalised yesterday, but unfortunately, we have a coach who prefers an away goal to choking the opponents with more goals.

I wouldn't be caught unawares if he decides to shoot for a goalless draw at camp nou. And that isn't the Barça I grew up liking.

His tactics are technically sound, but they are not the right ones for Barça.
The results so far speaks for the effectiveness of the tactics and the players are not complaining. As at this moment, going into the second leg, FCB holds the advantage, that is what counts!

Valverde isn't the suitable manager for Barça tho. Settling for an away draw all the fùcking time?

Playing 4-4-2 with Paulinho who should be fighting battles in Syria?

He should be lucky he has Messi to bail him out in most of his games.

IDC if we win treble, he should be changed if he continues being pussilanimous in his approach to games.

Man of the match: posts.
Na wa o. Is like you prefer to play tiki-taka and get knocked out abi! As far as I am concerned, I like this Barcelona.

In the past, it was all about winning, playing "pretty" and scoring plenty even when the "smart" thing to do would be to calm down and take the result. This is why teams like Celtic will have 10% possession yet beat Barcelona because they are always chasing wins that they do not need and leave themselves vulnerable to silly counters. A drab nil-nil draw at the Camp Nou is okay. Ba ko'mi. Shikena!

They said the ref could not give a straight red because it was too early in the game. So considerate of him.
Na so!

I am still at a loss as to why no one is talking about the challenge on Aguero early in the first half. It was higher and more dangerous than that of Delph and there wasn't even a booking.

Anyhow sha, painful but all good!

TheGoodJoe:
The problem is the reaction of the City players. Look at what happened after the Delph tackle. The ref brought out a yellow but the protest from the players forced the ref to change his mind and send off Delph.

Look at our reactions to the terrible tackles against our players and they just stay quiet. When Bernardo Silva got pushed in the box, no one protested. Look at the studs challenge on Aguero. Same problem. The players should change their timid attitudes
That would be trying to gain unfair advantage na. I prefer them to play fair and loss abeg. Don't like the whole tunnel and after match incidents though. It is understandable, tempers run high in these moments. I gladly welcome any punishments and just hope it helps them pipe down and focus!

Sad the way the game ended, especially with the goal coming from lapses from our defence. Apart from that, props to the players of City for giving their all and playing well, even with a man down.

Very disappointed in the referee for denying two blatant penalties. It is funny how the officiating is always accurate when it concerns offences committed by City players but when the opposing side commit some atrocious play against us, the referees are mute.

It is a marathon and our players should keep running.
Yep. Ref messed up on some crucial calls!

So Delph gets a red and all the criticism possible for that tackle, but the Wigan guy who's tackle was stud outs, high into Aguero's knee level didn't even get a yellow. Anthony Taylor, well done!

Aa much as it would be wise to give credit to other teams in terms of how they could match Madrid, it should also be known over the years they've all failed. Yea, Man City are hot, but they are vulnerable at the back. I watch their games and if a team has enough attacking fire power, they would have it hot, and little wonder their game against Liverpool was a goal fest as Liverpool has the necessary firepower to trouble them at the back.

Now imagine an attack like Madrid's against City's shaky backline... It's gonna be suicidal. Liverpool? As much as one has to give them credit for their attacking intent, playing against Madrid would be a not-too-good experience for them. Yes, they would score eachother, but their back line would definitely be more vulnerable ro conceding than Madrid's. What Tottenham did in the group stage they can't repeat against Madrid. Madrid would almost beat them home and away at this juncture. Even the likes of Bayern are a piece of cake.

I reiterate, only Barça have what it takes to take down Madrid. The rest will only try, but they'll fail woefully.
Nah man. You give this Real Madrid side way too much credit. They have digressed so very badly, it is shocking!
Yes, they have the experience and players that can capitalize if they get chances but PSG with a bit more "sense" should have won that game.
Real played like they do not have a midfield shield in front of the defence; they did not keep possession, did not press to win it back and on way too many occasions, PSG had promising (3v3 / 3v4) attack situations that could have been goal-scoring opportunities if well developed.

City may not have a fantastic defence, but they have 10 outfield players who will run, chase and harry whenever they are not in possession of the ball and can keep it very well. I cannot speak for any other team but Pep's Manchester City have the potential to make Real Madrid look very, very, very ordinary if they meet with this current run of forms on both sides... and they will do it in the way "prime" Barcelona would!

Back line needs to drop a bit. Those long balls over the top are creating chances for Basel way too easily!
