Nairaland General › Re: How Did You Get Past The Worries Of Your Twenties? by rukz: 1:30pm On Apr 28, 2022 |
civboy: I am in my 20s too and yes, it is really hard and I have a lot of worries, bad news, burdens, stress and chaos in my life to manage. But let me share what helps me stay afloat, as it comes to mind, with no particular order: - cut out everything that drains your time, energy and money but doesn't improve your life. If it costs you time, money or energy and after you are done, you don't have more money or at least a feeling of happiness or rest, then it shouldn't be in your life. For me, I had to cut out porn, masturbation, flirting, hookups, some people, eating too much, spending too much time on social media, debating with people who aren't rational and a bunch of bad habits like sleeping late, etc... Of course, sometimes you will desire these things, but find pleasures that benefit you better like intense sport or reading things that interest you. Some things, you can do without them so just cut them out, TV, netflix, instagram, watching soccer and whatever, celebrity news and gossips, etc... I often see it wasting the time of many friends and mates. - don't waste time thinking that you have to find your "calling", destiny or stuff like this, or even the will of God for your life if you are religious. Ask a lot of successful or old people, you will see that none of them succeeded by looking for that kind of things. They all started by doing excellently what was in front of them, and looking for important things to do or learn, and opportunities to seize, and then harwork, excellence and a lot of luck brought them to success. So get out of your head, stop making plan after plan, start practically looking for the best things you can do right now and get busy doing them, and if you keep doing the best things excellently, and if luck comes your way (don't worry since you cannot control that part), then eventually you will succeed. - when you get bad news or a problem pops up in your life, give yourself time to digest your emotions first, maybe a whole afternoon, an entire day or a week. And then when the time to cry and complain is over, sit down and start looking for solutions and help. Think and do, think and do again, think and do again, never think a lot to never do anything and never rush to do whatever without thinking first, do both and be brave to accept whatever result life will give you. Do your best and accept the rest; that's the only thing you can do, learn to be okay with that. - prioritize money; as you grow older, you will have time to figure out religion, healthcare, relationships, intellectual interests, politics, your mission on earth, your hobbies and whatever but start with money, dedicate 8 to 12 hours everyday for hustle, a fourth of the time to learn about making and securing money and the three fourths to actually work and make money. If you are financially stable in your 30s, you will see that everything else will fall into place more easily. We grew in a culture where money was a taboo and we weren't taught how important it is. I have been living by these principles for some time and it makes a great difference. Worries decrease when you are not sabotaging your own life, when you are busy trying to progress and when you allow a time to grieve for your problems and then focus on tackling them and learn to accept the results, knowing that you did your part. |

cochtrane: Most definitely. Some data analysts earn up to $100k per annum. You should focus on the tools of data analysis such as Tableau, SQL and Power BI. With just those three, you can get a decent remote job from anywhere in the world. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Wet Dreams: A Thorn In My Flesh Going To Two Decades by rukz: 9:57pm On Apr 25, 2022 |
Pray4meJC: It is not a coincidence the topic "spirit spouse " was treated today in sunday school of a popular deliverance church I now attend in Benin City. A practical example of how a jealous spirit spouse can kill, inflict sickness, divorce and cause financial misfortunes in marriage.
If my life is about getting a woman or a girl to have sex with, I would have done that many many years ago but I will never do it & not even now that I'm begging God for mercy and total deliverance. Spiritual fornication and adultery is what I'm battling with here For those saying it is normal, what about the other evil dreams like sometimes seeing myself in former school?
Did you know before this "wet dreams" started, ladies use to joke and show interest in me without me ever first making any move? I wasn't interested because personally as a Christian why keep a girl when you have no desire of marrying her in the near future if not to just do the sex stuff that is a common practice these days.
But now, those that show interest in me are unrepentant lustful ladies, those that practically practice prostitution, sex machines and shop and clean mouth ladies. God knows those are not what I need as life partner but the devil is using "wet dreams " to separate me from God so that he can render God's purpose for my life useless & make me keep doing things my own ways. Tell me how a man that doesn't hear from God ever know the true life partner for him.
Also, I have never been favoured in my life since encountering wet dreams. No certificate, no university education/degree, no phone calls, business dead and millions vanished and replaced with debt. No body has ever favoured nor blessed me with free money. Not even 500 naira. Borrowing/ losses has dealt me a big blow spiking my blood pressure to very dangerous levels and the doctors were like this one don go because I'm not 40 yet but very close
But God so kind, it is now dropping (no drugs) since am looking unto Him now, trusting he can do all things & casting my cares on him while also increasing my night prayers. Where I go for even get the funds to keep buying BP drugs sef.
Three years ago, someone invited me to one of these small prophesy church in Warri and I really went there by strong faith. He asked me " do you have a woman in your life " I said no. Then he began to say that a spirit woman is always following me about like a spouse and that she has stolen massively from my life. Conducted deliverance on me right there but I didn't feel any evil spirit leaving me.
The next thing he said I would pay some funds into his account so as for him to activate my financial doors and money flow. I think I transferred 2 to 3k then. Actually nothing really worked despite all efforts. I begged some of my online multi millionaire friends for financial assistance to feed but they just keep mute and never reply me again. Others will use derogatory words. I have learnt now to keep trusting God and obeying him till my deliverance and restoration comes speedily. locate any mfm for deliverance. |

Bianda24: Lemme me offer you a piece of advice for free. Quit betting!!! I know the addiction may be ingrained in you but the best bet for you in betting is to quit it. The pain of losing the over 100k meant for house rent to betting should be the driving force to quit it. I once lost over 1million naira to betting in a day. It happened that I got a loan of 1million naira from my parastatal's cooperative to pay back in 18 months. Though it was 1.8million naira that I applied for but cos of my contribution, I could not secure the desired amount. So I was loaned 1million naira. In an attempt to augument the money after having tried to get the remaining from friends and family members but as it was at that time, they couldn't help as a result of one reason or the other. Going forward, a friend introduced me to betting, as my friend analysed it, it sounded convincing. Manchester City was to play Wolverhampton that year. Man City was on top of the league, I think the odd given to Man City was 1.36 while Wolves was given 7.68 odd (if I am not mistaken). The other game was between Celtic and one other team I could not recall its name now. Celtic was at home and from analyses, that team had not won Celtic before let alone winning Celtic at home. I cant remember the odd given to Celtic again but I know that I was to win 1.87 million naira. So I staked for Man City and Celtic to win at home. The most annoying thing is that the team that won Celtic (from analyses had never won Celtic before) had red card and was 1 goal down at the end of first half. In second half, the team scored and drew the match while wolves won Man City with I think one goal. It was sad, painful and wicked to me but I learnt my lesson. Though I did not quit sport betting but I never staked more than 100naira. I wish to stop it totally which I know I am on its path. were u able to sleep that day? |

Gatekeepers: Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.( Prov 13:11)
Whoever is greedy for unjust gain troubles his own household, but he who hates bribes will live. (Prov 15:27)
Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty. (Prov 28:19)
He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity. (Eccl 5:10)
“Gambling is the child of avarice, the brother of iniquity, and the father of mischief.” – George Washington
Gambling is a sickness, a disease, an addiction, an insanity, and is always a loser in the long run.
When you have greed you will always lose more than you gain. Gambling is bad for your health and it violates many Scriptures as seen above. Seek hard work and trust in the Lord with your income and your home, and it shall be well with you. |
