Two friends have engaged each other in a bloody street fight over a girl at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

The fight resulted in the stabbing of Saheed Hamza, with a broken bottle by his friend, Christopher Ugbeni.
Ugbeni, a resident of Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island, and hails from Edo State, has been arrested by the police from the Lion Building Division, Campbell Street.

He said he engaged Hamza in a fight because he was trying to snatch his girlfriend.
Hamza was rushed to the General Hospital, Lagos Island, after he was stabbed. He is currentlyreceiving treatment.

Police investigation revealed that trouble broke out between the two friends when Ugbeni reportedly saw Hamza making love advances to his girlfriend.
Ugbeni was said to have challenged his friend and that it degenerated into a fight during which the suspect broke a bottle and stabbed Hamza in the stomach.

During interrogation following his arrest, Ugbeni confessed to the crime and said he had warned his friend on several occasions to desist from making love advances to his girlfriend, but he would not listen.
“I stabbed my friend to teach him a lesson and stop him from romancing with my girlfriend,” Ugbeni allegedly told the police.

After investigation by Corporal Afu Victor, the suspect was charged before a Tinubu magistrate’s court, Lagos on a two-count charge of stabbing and attempted murder.
The offence, the prosecutor, Inspector I. Okeke said, contravened sections 228(1) and 243 of thecriminal laws of Lagos State, 2011.

Meet 66-year-old Brazilian man Inri Cristo who believes he is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.
Inri dresses like Jesus, says his mission is to prepare the elect for the formation of the new earthly society, which will strive to fulfill the Creator's will.

He has spent 35 years preaching and has ‘hundreds of followers’ from around the world, including the UK, Britain and France, some of whom live with him at his ‘church’ compound outside Brasilia.

As ‘Jesus reborn’, he gave himself the name Inri which means - Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews' and Christo which means - Christ.

But despite seeing himself as Jesus reborn, Inri refuses to celebrate Christmas saying it is just a day where 'the rich humiliate the poor'.
‘It is a day when the little sons of the rich can show the gifts they received while the poor children only get a crumb,’ he said. ‘So it is a very sad day for anyone who sees things with the eyes that I see.’


Inri says he first experienced the 'revelation' that he was Christ during a religious fast in Santiago, Chile, in 1979.
Since childhood he had been following a powerful voice that 'speaks in his head' but it was only on this occasion that it told him:
‘I am your Father. The God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.’


He now runs his own church, the 'Soust' (Suprema Ordem Universal da Santmssima Trindade), located on a lush farmland outside of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, which he calls the 'New Jerusalem'.

He and his followers survive on homegrown fruit like bananas, avocados and mangos as well as a vegetable garden.
There's also a chapel where Ingra speaks to his followers every Saturday morning and a kennel for the dogs that guard the complex.

Critics believe he is mentally ill - an accusation he firmly denies.
He said:
I can be crazy but not dumb. Madness is different from dementia. It is the mother of philosophers, prophets and inventors.

Retired Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher, 44, is fighting for his life after he fell and hit his head on a rock while skiing off piste with his 14-year-old son Mick in the resort of Meribel in the French Alps yesterday morning Sunday December 29th.

Doctors who treated the seven-time Formula One world champion said he would ‘have died’ had he not been wearing a crash helmet. But despite the helmet, Michael Schumacher suffered serious head injuries that has left him in a coma since the accident. The German driver required immediate brain surgery as he got to the hospital and is currently being kept in an induced coma, officials said.

The entire Nigerian student community in Donetsk, Ukraine, has been in state of mourning since last week due to the sudden death of two of us. While we mourn our dead, it has however been painful to watch the Ukrainian media portray a totally untrue account of what actually happened to the two Nigerians who died. Laolu Oresanya Teresa was a third year Electrical Engineering student of Donetsk National Technical University. She was admitted to the hospital on December 8, and was diagnosed by the doctors of having acute anaemia. Immediately after the diagnosis, money was paid to the hospital for the treatment that might be required. Want to share a strange story with you guys. Or maybe it's not so strange...just life! A guy named Albert Mlanga (pictured left) died November 25th and within a few days his burial arrangement was concluded with the burial scheduled for the 4th of December.

Three days after Albert's passing, his very good friend Lele Daniel Torngu (They are old boys of St. Gabriel's Secondary School Makurdi) took to FB to announce his burial arrangement...see it below Please continue...

Daniel (pictured right) concluded his farewell message to Albert by assuring him of their re-union in the words "...Rest on hommie, we shal come. WE WILL COME." in caps!

Now here's the part that's kinda creepy. A few days after this post, Daniel died after complaining of a terrible headache. He didn't live to attend Albert's wake-keep.
Not that I personally believe it, but a few people have tied Daniel's death to his confession - "we shall come," "we will come," "we will definitely see someday..." etc.

"The good book tells us in the book of Proverbs that the power of life & death is in d tongue!" one of their friends wrote on facebook.
