Pls learn to distinguish between Capitalism and Socialism. Capitalism is an economic system that is free market oriented and provide room for economic players to compete to with one another in the production of goods and services. Where as, socialism is an economic system run by the state in the sense that economic decisions are majorly taking by the govt. In socialism, the govt determine what to produce, where products will be produce, and which company to support. This economic system is highly characterize by MONOPOLY (Domination) for the production of goods and services by companies favoured by govt. In socialist economies there's little or no room for competition.
Nigeria at present practice mixed economy which is heavily tilted towards Socialism - the bane of Nigeria's underdevelopement. This economic system is the reason why the country's power and petroleum sectors is so underdeveloped.
