The residents of gangara village in sabon birni local government of sokoto state are still counting their loss in the aftermath of an attack by bandits that claimed more than twenty lives,and the destruction of properties. Sabon birni located in the eastern axis of sokoto state, which also share border with Niger republic has been constantly attacked by bandits and kidnapppers. Governor tambuwal today paid condolence visit to the affected area to assure the victims of his government support and protection.

The Chinese government has vigorously started work to build a 1000 bed capacity hospital in Wuhan province to treat the coronavirus. Transport has been suspended in parts of the province and other cities to stem the spread of the deadly virus. What proactive measures has Nigerian government taken to stop the influx of this virus from travellers coming from China is yet to be ascertained.

The sokoto state governor, Rt Hon Aminu waziri tambuwal has agreed to pay 30 thousand as new minimum wage in the state starting from January. This was contained in a statement he made during the submission of report by an adhoc committee he set up to look into the feasibility of paying the new salary package.
