Getting residency isn't as hard as you think. Nigerian trained doctors have been doing it for years, so your case shouldn't be different.

I like that you're planning out your future early. A little bit of advice: When you get into med school, try to get your hands on as many scholarships as you can. You can get as many as four awards if you know what you're doing...and that's a lot of money. I'm just telling you this so you can have an easy time in med school while saving up for the PLAB/UKMLA/USMLE exams. I know some people that paid for their exams this way.

hi sir,

How long after the step 1 uslme can one take the second step?...I mean what is the validity of the first step or can one take the first step in 2020 and take the second step two or three years after?
I'll be glad if this can be explain explicitly

Chemical what? Leave that course o. There are no jobs there and the oil industry has been in crisis for how many years. Computer powers up everything and is relevant in all industries. For job security, computer science. There's like 30 jobs to one graduate. If you think I am lying go to top Nigerian job sites like myjobmag and hotnigerianjobs and see how many programming jobs are available. They all specify a degree in computer science. Computer science and learn to program at the university.

Thanks for the enlightment sir. he has seen this post, he's changing to computer or software engineering soon.
As for me sir I'm leaving engineering by God's grace. I'm looking forward to writing next jamb to pursue mbbs sir.

If possible he should change to computer science o. Don't fall for the wash with engineering courses. The jobs are very limited. Most things today are powered by software. If it must be engineering then go for computer or electrical engineering. At least to have a safe future in the job market.

sir, do you mean elect and computer engineering are the most lucrative course in engineering?
what of chemical engineering?
he'll have a second thought on your opinion sir

Gud PM nairalander..
my cousin whom we stay together has changed his course due to low jamb score (279) . initially he opted in for mechanical engineering due to low jamb score he had to change to another department. since then, I've been wondering is this course secure? what does the future holds for metallugrical engineers? is it as demanding as mech, elect or chemical engineering which I'm currently studying?
is there any metallugrical engineer in the house pls enlighten me nd my cousin abt this course.
