A lot of us might feel cheated!

Some still feel the pain of being left out; especially the preDegree peeps who are seeing their UME and DE collegues being mobilized... all because of JAMB/ NUC/ NYSC regulariztion issue!
Its time to move on...and expect the best in the October batch "C" 2013 mobilization exercise!!!

I learnt alot in the nairaland Batch B HOuse... one of those include the fact that all preDegree graduates should endeavor to apply to JAMB for a registration no.... This is usually done through the Students' Affairs Office of the school! Please endeavor to do so...just to fulfill all requirements to get mobilized!

Hopefully, we all shall make it!

I couldnt go to DSA today because i felt they will all be in Amphi Theatre for the Matric. Lets all keep hope alive still a senior colleague told me that a concession was given to them during their time about three years ago so there is nothing impossible for God to do. And if we dont make it, it is not a do or die affair God knows best.

Thank God we have true Nigerian graduates here... she is even female... and from uniport i guess!

The dude joined Nairaland since 2008 and have just 10posts none is even related to NYSC matter. and yes, i am a prospective Batch B otondo from the Delta state university.the only thing that linked me to this page was this pre-degree/ jamb registration stuff! i was as usually gathering info...until i came across that dude's post..that made me painstakingly search for my nairaland password just to drop a comment.

please i think i need very strong help.
My Dell vostro 1015 gets unnecesarily hot. this has been happening since the very first day i got it (over a year).
But i think it is getting worse 'cos for the very first time yesterday it tripped of without shutting down and alerted overheating as the cause.

I had to check through my drivers and found out that my acpi fan driver is not even installed

i dont know if that could be the cause but i would really like you guys to help me out on this/, thanks

What internet connection mode do u use,
- modem
- Free browsing
- dial up
- DSL Cable etc

What network are u on?
gprs
edge
hsdpa
ev-do
3G / 3.5G etc

These are the common factors that influnce the speed at which videos are streamed from youtube.
We all know GOOD internet services is quite costly in nigeria so most times we opt for the free or less expensive options.
The only advice i can give u is for you to try and get a good internet package
On gsm networks-----a 3G capable mtn/Zain/eti/glo modem would be great
on other providers like starcomms, visafone, multilinks etc, get an ev-do capable modem,

But if you cant do any of these, the last resort is to allow the video stream itself (just leave it to be playing and continue doing other things (mute the volume if possible)), which will definitely take some time, When the playback is through, just start all over again, and you will have an uninterrupted playback.

Thanks for your response, I want to format because am having problem with my windows, it loaded windows but never shown desktop icons. I have tried the option of setting boot priority and it doesnt work. And whenever i want to try it while the windows on it keeps telling me windows encountered internal error while initializing COM, And that's the reason why i want the installation CD to boot from CD. Please help!

The 1st question you should ask yourself is : when was the 1st time i came across this error?
You should then be able to carry out a system restore op.

Another option is getting another installation cd, yes!
this option is even more common in troubleshoting/installation problems i have encountered. most cd's get corrupt even though u just used it a couple of hours ago.

lastly, sometime last week, i encoutered this same problem yu are experiencing now. all i had to do was to boot in safe mode, if it comes on, u know that a recently installed driver or software is the cause of ur predicament. thus i uninstalled a recently installed applications and drivers from my system and performed a thourough scan using avast 5.0.507, this caused the problem to cease!

Friend, please try troubleshooting rather than reinstalling,

Please help me. My windows installation CD will never boot from CD after i ve set up the Bios configuration. I had my system format a few month ago and i was able to boot the installation from CD then, but to my dismay a few weeks back now i have been trying to format and install my windows 7 ultimate which need to be booted through installation cd. I 've checked my BIOS set up and selected boot from CD/DVD but anytime i restart to let my installation boot from CD, it will just load as if i am runnin normally windows without indicating where the system boots. Its quite a surprise why people who derive pleasure in formatting their system.
Formatting is supposed to be the last call of duty when having any problem with your system. You said you just reformatted a couple of months back, now you are about to repeat the same act.
well, all i can say is tis: since ur system isnt booting from cd, have you tried the option of setting boot priority? It is also on the bios setting, by default, 1st boot device is the harddisk,, you could change this to ur cdrom.
If that doesnt work, then why not try running the installation disk while windows in on. Back in the days of XP, it is supposed to autorun as soon as u slot in the disk,,, after which it will give you option of repairing, uninstalling, or custom installation.
So try these out and see if you'll have better results.

I am in warri and both networks are rocking wella,

I used to use multilinks because of their EV-DO network, but visafone recently launched theirs (EV-DO) and it has undoubtedly been the bomb! Visafone CDMA-1x network is not really bad or too good, it just works like the regular cyber-cafe standard where it coulld be good this minute and the next minute you'll feel like crashing ur pc on the floor!

It is really faast, and i can say it is the best network for now in my vicinity,

the only problem with visafone is that they charge higher for their ev-do.
I am on a monthly plan (8am - 9pm) which is charged at 7k as opposed to 5k for the same plan but with cdma-1x! so, its ur choice to make!

a virus is on my trail oh!
I use an avast 5 antivirus,,,
This virus has eaten up some component files in that stops my antivirus form starting up!
my google chromes crashes at will and easily!
whenever i type in an address in google chrome and i hit the enter key my browser crashes and restarts.
my yahoo messenger has failed to load
system restore has failed to sucesfully complete!

pls people, i need help before this gets out of hand
