The commencement of the 2020 Nigeria Women's Premier League season was scheduled for Wednesday, March 18 but it will now take place a week later, according to the organisers.
The expected decision taken by the board was surprisingly not due to the increasing spread of coronavirus which already hit 148 countries, with Nigeria confirming its third positive case on Tuesday.In a letter to clubs on Tuesday, the Nigeria Women's Football League secretariat announced the shock postponement 24 hours to the country's women's top-flight season.In a release Ayo Abdulrahaman, the NWFL board's Chief Operating Officer explained the development was owed to a few reasons, including the inability of clubs to offset their debts.While apologising for the late postponement notice, he further assures they will comply with the new kick-off date."We are constraint to postpone the 2019/2020 Women's Premier League kick-off owing to registration irregularities by some clubs," the statement read on Tuesday."The irregularities range from the refusal of some clubs to submit evidence of payment of players' wages, completion of comprehensive medical reports."The clubs affected are Ibom Angels FC, Pelican Stars, FC Robo Queens, Dream Stars Ladies FC, Heartland Queens FC, Royal Queens FC, Abia Angels FC, Adamawa Queens FC, Confluence Queens FC, Sunshine Queens FC, Osun Babes FC, and Delta Queens FC."In view of these inadequacies, the 2019/2020 kick-off has been postponed for a week to provide the opportunity for the defaulting clubs to meet up with the registration requirements.Therefore, the 2019/2020 Women's Premier League will now kick-off on the 25th of March, 2020. We regret any inconveniences this postponement might cause."The postponement was necessary due to some clubs' inability to meet up with the submission of evidence of payment of player wages and the completion of the comprehensive medical reports."The league will now kick off next week, the 25th of March 2020. Manchester United head coach, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has revealed that the club will give Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo a permanent contract.

Ighalo was signed on a six months loan contract from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua on transfer deadline day in January as a back up to the injured Marcus Rashford, but has shone everytime he put on a Manchester United jersey to play for thHe's a goalscorer and a striker, he doesn't worry too much about all that nonsense; build-up play - that's a joke, obviously.

'He knows his job and what his role in the team is, and he's very good with his back to goal, great link player, but maybe the best thing about him is his personality, so he's got the whole lot really.

'He had three touches before his fourth was the finish. All them touches were high quality but he had to make them to create space for himself. But the strike is on the half-volley, great timing, no one would have saved that one so anyone would have been proud of that finish.
Ighalo on his part, insists he’ll talk about his Old Trafford future at the end of the season.

When asked whether he’ll make his United move permanent, Ighalo told Sky Sports: "For now, I'm enjoying my time, I'm living my dream and I'm working hard.
"It's too early to talk about the future, now is for me to fight in every game, make sure I give my blood and sweat for the team, try to win games and make sure we end the season well.
"After this season, we'll see what's going on.

A Nigerian man, Salami Olajide a.k.a Stubborn has been accused of beating his wife and mother of his three children, Salami Ruth to coma and trying to force deadly insecticide, sniper down her throat for trying to quit their marriage of 6 years.

The incident reportedly occurred at the couple's apartment at Ijede Road in Ikorodu on Saturday March 7. Ruth, 33, who is nursing a six-month-old baby, was taken to Ajayi Hospital within the community where she is receiving treatment.
The couple's landlord, Alhaji Lawal Tanimola who confirmed the incident said he discontinued his prayer and called other tenants with whom they forced the door open after hearing Ruth’s continuous call for help. He disclosed that the couple have never gone a week in their nearly-two-years’ stay in his house without fighting.

Tanimola further revealed that Salami was released by the police, barely 24 hours after he was arrested.

But unfortunately the institution undated her site with this info
The University Management has been inundated with requests for reopening of portal for the first semester 2018/2019 academic session. The unnecessary flexibility in opening of portal at the whims and caprices of students is not healthy for the system.

Nevertheless, on compassionate grounds, Management had directed that the portal be reopened to all students for registration of courses. However, such students are expected to pay a penalty of N10,000.00 (Ten thousand Naira only) into the University account through the Remita platform.
