Rivers state government should be held accountable for not promoting workers for 12 years and non implementation of the 30k minimum wage. This is the height of wickedness and insensitivity. The state had decided to impoverish it's workers.

So pathetic my brother. The LGAs civil servants are the worst affected by the Wike Administration. He pays N18,000 as basic salary without promotion for the past 12 years.

Going by Sim method being the 3rd term for Wike I see no change.

Because you can see the project he is to carry out. Its within Obio Akpor, Ikwerre and PH LGA with lots of bridges.

Sim took Wike from flyover to bridges. So you can see that no hope for employment and salary increase in the state.

1. Live in batcha

2. Batcha should be close to work

3. Ask your employer to get you an accomodation alternatively

4. Buy food in bulk

5. See if you can live with another person so you can rent the batcha

6. See how you can negotiate for an increments

The above condition sef still tight

Health / Re: Strange Recurring Boil Pus On My Child's Back (Viewers Discretion) by saintopus(m): 2:41pm On Jul 16, 2023
I experienced same with my 4years old daughter.
The infection spread to all the body including the ears. I gave her several antibiotics but it didn't work untill I got one "Flemin" it doesn't take up to 3 days it started cleaning and within 7 days the girl resume school again.

It was so bad and causes lots of discomforts.
It appears it's a new kind of infection that affects 4-5years old because after my daughter got healed I saw several other children suffering from the same sickness.

It's going to spread to all parts of the body very soon if medication is not given.

Well it depends on the heaven you are talking about.

There are many heavens anyway.

To your question, if one leaves this physical life in death, you will always meet your loved ones who have died.

In fact you will not likely missed anyone since from time to time you will meet loved ones. For instance, you meet them in the dream state. For the dream worlds are real life in heaven.

So you can always share your love with loved ones.

LOL...someone should explain to oga what a subsidised education entails.

Subsidised education means you pay a token...not the actual amount in cash.

If you want to see how much your school fees would have cost without subsides, check out the private universitas. Or even foreign universities.

I used to think like you until I started hearing from the few friends and relatives that went abroad to places like US to study. That is when my eyes opened. The final straw was when my mother broke the news to me when I was moaning about how my fees had risen one time....she sat me down and told me that fees in Naija are subsidised.

My course that I read in Nigeria...graduated without debt. If I read it in the US...by the time I would be graduating....my debt would be upwards of over 100000 dollars. (I even know someone who read masters in US and is paying off debt..for masters. BSC dey o!)

Even countries like Germany that do free tuition...when it comes to accomodation, you go pay well well. Nothing like hostel...na to pay rent like other people you go do. cheesy

We lived a life of so much freebies, and we need so much more that we forgot that so many Services by the government are highly subsidized.

I attended a Federal University in the South South Region of Nigeria, precisely UNICAL, in the late 90s, my Year One school fees was N5,970.00.

Perhaps the exchange rate then could be N50 to $1. You can imagined how much I would have paid in the US or UK.
Upon that I only paid Year One school fees.
The rest was paid during final year clearance.

Which university outside Nigeria would allow that luxury?

Is it a 9a.m to 5p.m job or a rota of day and night shifts?

One thing is a FACT, she can't arrive the UK to start a job with a 3 months old baby, not even with the husband, dem go suffer!

She comes alone, she can easily get a room in a shared house within a week of arrival. She works for 3-4 months to save funds, so she can rent a 2 bedroom flat while she files for her husband and their baby after making sure her employer would allow her to briefly travel to Nigeria, to return with her husband and baby.

Their mothers and sisters can support in taking care of the baby, pending when the baby's mother comes to take him/her.

If the job is going to be 9a.m to 5p.m, the husband would baby sit their baby till his wife gets back from work, he can then leave for his night shift job and return in the morning to take over child care as wifey leaves for work.....it is not going to be an easy ride and that is for sure!

The alternative of getting a nanny here in the UK is disastrous because nanny will have to be paid at least Β£10 per hour while madam will be earning about Β£15 per hour at work ....so it makes no sense.

The best advice

OP take this and have peace

I understand the state of the economy in Nigeria is tough, and you feel the need to contribute to the revenue generation of your family, but my advice is that you continue with what you already do. You only get one chance to be a kid. Live it and enjoy it. The time for you to be an adult will come. Don't rush. It's turn by turn. The murky world of adults is no place for a developing mind like yours. It's filled with very horrible opportunists who won't spare a thought when it comes to taking advantage of an innocent mind like yours. As I said, relax and enjoy your youth.

She may not be the one wishing to learn the trade.

What have the government done with the money since?

If we don't know what was done with the subsidy removal monies for diesel, kerosene etc. Then expect nothing to be done with this too

True check my next comment.
But in times of priorities this particular location shouldn't be next in line, except we've been 100% assured by Niger to use our ports and engage in the oil swap deals_which I believe Nigeria is committing their part by building this rail way as an assurance in trading deals, Niger should also keep to their part!.... If so, nomore complaint but if not written agreement then this shouldn't have come now, development other important corridors then we can talk of kano to Maradi.

From my opinion, Niger have very little option considering of it's landlocked nature.

Countries all over the world explore more effective and cheaper way of doing business and this is one the ways the foreign exchange of the nation would be boosted.

A waste

After Lagos to ibadan. The east-west rail corridor should have been prioritized all the way to Portharcourt.

Abuja to Kano should be third on the list, then ibadan - ilorin-minna - Abuja

All of the people who commented above are very ignorant apart from you perhaps.

Though you are sensible in your opinion of which I agree completely with you.

The importance of the rail line to Niger cannot be overemphasized considering the fact that Niger is a landlocked country all of their imports will be routed through Nigeria to the seaport in Lagos.

Niger travelled all the way to Benin Republic for all their imports and exports. The cost to Niger is high compared to when a good rail network is available through Nigeria to Lagos seaport.

The goods will further go up North Africa.

Therefore the project is a massive gain to Nigeria.

I'm from South South precisely Rivers State so you wouldn't bring in the ethnic thing.
