Most comment in this thread points to one thing, many of the commenters, if they borrow money from a friend or a relative, they ll be praying for the death of the person, so that they won't pay back. If they hear that their creditor dies, they ll be rejoicing, they will even share testimony in church. Be careful lending money to Nigerians, they will always wish evil happens to you so that they won't pay back the loan. |

Olawrites: There's high cost of living everywhere, like recently in the US, the cost of gas moved from $2 to $5 per liter.
Just know this fact before thinking of travelling.
Don't be caught unaware.
We've had enough stranded Nigerians in the diaspora already. Don't add to it.
Have enough money SAVED before you think of travelling.
Move this to front page please Op don't discourage people not to travel out of the country, If you live in the US for instance, you won't die, you will live forever, so far you don't step your feet outside the US. you will be immortal. Secondly dollar bills are littered everywhere in the USA, no matter how worse the inflation is, the dollar bills littered everywhere will take care of it. Just take a stroll out and pick as much as you want want and go back home. People that work in USA don't work for money, they work just to burn calories not for the money. That's why USA is called God's own country. Garden of Eden referred to in the bible is called the USA of today. Op, do you know that all your life problems ends the moment you step your feet on the soil of USA? All spiritual problems, financial problems, health challenges vanished immediately you step your feet on USA. No problem in the US, some of them get too comfortable and become obese, because of obesity, some of the them are forced to look for a job to burn excess calories. Some ll even tell their boss not to pay them, they ll say: " I am not here to work for money, i am just here to burn some calories, so keep your money". When you give birth in US, your children have become the responsibility of the US government, the government will take care of your kid from baby to adulthood. Even those people that just went to USA to give birth and return to their country, the US government send them 5000usd every month for the child's upkeep, ask all those Nigerians that went to give birth in USA and return back to Nigeria, the US government send to them 5000usd every month for their child's upkeep. Now imagine if you have 3 or 4 kids born in the USA, that means you will be making free 15k to 20kusd from Nigeria. Have you ever seen people living in the USA anticipating Jesus christ second coming? They can't because there can't be any other paradise better than USA. If you are reading this post, don't let the op discourage you from going to paradise(USA), sell everything you have and find your way to paradise. |

Silentmoni: am as shocked as you are,and that's even the reason why I was reluctant on calling my bank or mtn to block.......my pin used on both phone and sim is 8digit that can rarely be guessed..... someone mentioned sms pop up even when phone is locked which I think could be how they got the otp....coz when I get messages it will reel out on top of the screen even when locked How did they get your phone number and account number, without it cardless withdrawal cannot be initiated. Sim pin is maximum of 4 digits. |

Family › Re: I Love My Wife & My Kid, But I Want To Leave The Marriage. Help! by SaintUlot: 1:56pm On Mar 01, 2022 |
Needadvice200: Sorry I had to create new account to remain anonymous.
Please men of the house I seriously need advice. Straight to the point, we've been married for 6 years now and I love her so so much, our compatibilities is 100%. We have a beautiful baby girl and we are still currently living together at the moment. Since we married things has been extremely bad for us unlike before we married. Though I myself was down with sickness for years that almost took my life but God revived me and she stays with me. My business doesn't require my presence (networking) because currently am still getting money but not much. let's say 20k average which of course not much for the family.
Now here is my problem, from 3 or 4 different CONFIRMED sources we were told that my lack of money it's from her that she belongs to a spiritual evil cult (Elegbe omo) that her own is spiritual rags group (egbe akitan, or alakisa) that whoever sleeps with them, their things will going down for them, finance wise and all. I hope I described it well tho and that even she herself is not aware but they do tell her severally. and she has been praying yet things keep getting worse for us.
in fact sometimes ago a pastor saw a vision for her that whoever sees her physically putting on a good cloth that she's beautiful but spiritually it is rags on her body. That she will Pray and fast for 3 days (deliverance) which she did yet things keeps getting worse for me in fact right now I am begging to feed.
When I realized this I stopped having sex with her for months and my business really really improved. Throughout last year I can count how many times we had sex not up to 4 times and I did not cheat on her because I love her so much but for how long? It's not easy to be on the same bed with your wife and not want to have it but anytime we have it we must suffer for it for months. The loan sharks on my neck are up to 7. Am just collecting loan to pay another to avoid their embarrassment. One is even threatening my life now (LCredit) as I could not pay the overdue loan.
My head is full with many thoughts. I love her and my baby which is just 2yrs. i want to succeed, I want my family. how long can we be staying without sex? am so so worried. Though I was told it's not her fault but what can I do because it has been affecting us for years now until now.
I don't know if anyone had a similar experience to please share. I need help because I am seriously considering leaving her but I will take full responsibilities of my baby.
I will be in comment section if case of any questions.
Thank y'all Separate from her for the main time, while she seeks spiritual help. |

IyaOmo1: Dear Great Nairalanders
I am in urgent need of your advice on a decision I am about to make that could shape my life and my young family in about few months from now.
I am currently running successful businesses which give me a steady minimum of N1.5M per month with a potential for expansion. I have been nursing the idea of going to UK on a study Visa by September this year with the hope that I can get a well paying job that could surpass my current earnings here in naijja. I also intend to keep my naija business running but we all know trusting people with kind of investment can be tricky and risky.
What assurance do I have about earning more and having a better life in UK? What happens to my businesses I already built up in Naija? What happens to my properties here in naija?
Your advice will be of great help at this critical decision making moment of my life. Thank you Sell everything and relocate to the UK.Please i am very much interested in your line of business, please can you put me through? |

Step your game up go and build your house So how did you know he is not stepping up his game? Everybody get his or her own time, some people live in an uncompleted building and they are still very optimistic of a better tomorrow, some people are even okay with modest living like this even though they have money to rent a duplex, priority of everybody is different. Focus on what the thread is all about, there is no point making him to feel like as if he is a failure, you don't know every individual goes through on a daily basis. BluntTheApostle: You are the one who is not getting it.
Some of the houses that went for about 150k about 3-4 years ago are now going for over 300k. Are you telling me that there was a spike in demand, or a significant increase in demand now than 3 years ago? It is as a result of cost push inflation, look @ the prices of all your daily consumables 3 - 4 years ago, transport, your children school fee and every other thing you spend your money on, now compare their prices with current price. The same thing is happening in the real estate sector. Your Landlord or Agent is not happy in jacking up rent indiscriminately or irrationally, but we have to face realities without attaching sentiment. The difference between a new building and an old building in situation of rent is that, the new building will show economic realities immediately it is completed, while the old building will catch up later. 100% old house increament only catch up with economic realities, for the last 7 to 10 years, some landlords haven't increased their rent. If economy is stable or if prices are going down, you can enjoy the same rent even for 20 years. Some landlords also employ one tactics, they will deliberately undervalue the rent they charge on their property at inception with the aim of increasing the rent either annually or every two years, till the rent they charge finally meet up with prevailing economic realities, it is their game plan right from time which tenants won't be aware of. |

Travel › Re: Does It Make Sense To Remain In Nigeria by SaintUlot: 10:55am On Feb 13, 2022 |
BrodaAgbaya: Hi guys,
I was planning to travel out to UK, Germany or any other stable European country for my Master`s by September of this year of which i will be able to raise 2million from my pocket and then borrow about 2/3million from a person i know for some fees then get there are do part times jobs to complete my tuition fee.
After some thoughts, i realized this wasn`t a really smart move cos i have a good job here in Nigeria where I'm paid above 200k each month, This will increase to above 300k in the next 2months still with some bonuses.
Is there any sense in dropping all these to go to a place of uncertainty and start leaving from hand to mouth cos i`d be struggling to pay my debt and tuition??
One of the driving forces towards wanting to travel out is the fear of 2023 elections and the fact that many of my friends we finished together are all travelling out. Yeah, i know the second reason doesn't make sense, but that`s just me being honest here.
My plan now is to keep working here in Nigeria probably for about 3/4 years more, live the baby boy life, develop relevant skills then get a job over there or go for an MBA. 3/4 years from now i should have saved more than 2million for travel.
Also note i will be turning 26 towards the end of the year, so i think there`s still a bit of time on my end.
I need advice from you guys, is this a sensible idea putting into consideration things that could go wrong pre/post elections, the current standard of living in Lagos and the current and future exchange rates.
I have noticed the crazy rush to leave the country among we youths but i have also noticed that those that have good paying jobs in multinationals, fintechs, banks, govt etc are not bothered about leaving the country. Also noticed most of my friends who left were all earning less than 100k in salary.
Please tell me what y`all think??
