alexleo: Ok. Do you think that God knew that lucifer will sin before creating him? If yes why do you think he still created him knowing the consequences of it?
This is a tough one grin

Well I believe God knew that giving both angels and humans free will will certainly result in either of the two ends. Ie obedience and disobedience. And since God is omniscient, I can certainly say he knew Lucifer will sin.

Coming to why he went ahead to create him, I will have to state here that our (my) understanding here is limited and/or impaired. There are things I believe we may not fully understand about God till we cross over grin grin

Having said that....

I believe God went ahead to create Luciifer because he isn't just after creating only those who will always be subject to him even against their wish. He rather created those who will exercise their free will not only to please him but to make every side of him known.

For instance, if Lucifer never sinned God wouldn't have cast him out and we wouldn't have known God is capable of casting out heavenly dwellers. Same can be said about God creating the tree at the centre of the garden and instructing Adam not to eat of it. Why will he even create such? I would say eating the fruit of that tree is the only option he kept for them to exercise their free will in the negative direction, that is, if he had created them with free will without providing an "object" or "option" on which they can act if they choose to exercise their free will in the wrong way, then it's as Good as he never created them with free will.

In thesame manner, if he had not created Lucifer because he knew Lucifer will sin, that mean he really never wanted his creatures to exercise their free will.

Don't know if I remotely passed the massage in an understandable way grin

Evergreen123: OK, keep it up at that.
By the way, are doctors the ones that go to collect results on a good day?
I didn't say collect, I said review.

Where I work, collecting or sending result is the work of the care attendants and the clerk in the Lab. Not docctors or scientists.

Evergreen123: Abeg lab scientists can help us by processing the samples faster instead of coming to wards to do what I don't know.
y does everybody think the ward round is the epitome of health practice?
Like I said, I don't see anything wrong if a scientist chooses to see the patient, no law forbids that, and you maybe you are talking about where you work, but where I work scientists produce their result and doctors are the one whom we have to keep waiting for them to come and review the result, so don't come here and make it look like the scientist are the only ones who delay patients diagnosis and treatment.

Sagamite: Oya, make I give you summary gists instead of toying with these ignorant boys while holding back knowledge and using it piecemeal to humiliate them.

At least you are open to learning and asked. And you know who to ask when you want facts. tongue grin

The thing there in summary is that:

- Jewish people originated and have always existed in that area.
- Unfortunately for them, most of the kingdoms and states they created there in the old times were always defeated and they were conquered.
- Time after time, many rulers picked on them and they had to start migrating to stay alive. They migrated as far as Europe, the Caucuses and North Africa in the medieval times.
- They have not been a major force in the area for about 1,300 years before 1948. Only a few Jewish communities existed in Arabia, where they were left in peace as Muslims tend to leave people they dominate. But the largest communities of the Jews were in the Palestine area of Arabia.
- But their time in exodus was not fun as well as their new hosts also oppressed them. Afterall, they were seen (in strongly Christian nations) as the ones that killed Jesu Christi and also they were rootlessly entrepreneurial (anything for money mentality) and selfishly usually kept it within the family.
- During the 1300 years period, there were many pogroms in Europe and Jews were slaughtered by others, from Russians to Ukrainians to the Spanish etc, or sometimes they were all expelled like Ghana-must-go in places like England.
- Jews suffered.
- So someone took the lead in the late 1800s and tried to organise them, after 1300 years to all go back to Galilee, abi Canaan de ni (or is it Canaan). This is what the Jews call Aliyah.
- So that started the gradual migration back to the promise land which was being ruled by the Ottomans now. It was now a full Muslim-Arab place after hundreds of years, just like Sagamu is a full Ijebu land. No "Nna" can ever come claim say Chukwu promise them my land. grin grin grin grin grin
- Only few migrated in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
- But after WW1, the allied forces defeated the Ottoman Empire and then after sharing the bloods (Chei, Chei, Chei!), they shared the lands with UK getting Palestine. Dairisgodooo!
- By this time, many Jews were rich and connected in Europe because they owned the banks and many industries. Notably were the family they called Rothschild. Rothschild Bank still exists to this day and the family are still billionaires.
- One of the Rothschild negotiated with his contacts in the British Government in 1917, and the British Foreign Minister, Arthur Balfour, promised them that they would allow Jews migrate to Palestine and have a home there. This is what is known as the Balfour Declaration.
- This led to Jews around the world starting to migrate more to Palestine in the 1920s.
- The Arabs there were not consulted and after a while started complaining that too much Jews were coming in.
- They complained to the Authorities (British), who did not listen or most likely did not take it seriously and could not control the Jewish desire to come to the promise land, the Arabs started rebelling against the British.
- The British being powers obviously dealt with them but now took them seriously.
- The Jews kept coming in illegal despite the British now trying to control the migration.
- Then WW2 broke out and the long suffering Jews were slaughtered en masse by Heil Hitler. Drastically killed for existing.
- After the allied forces defeated Hitler and the Nazis and freed the Jews, the Jews now took the migration more seriously as they did not want to be exterminated from Earth. The British could not stop them as the World now had pity for the Jews after seeing the horror they suffered.
- They started doing the Aliyah "goin back, back, forth and forth" grin.
- So the Arabs said "ALLLLLLLLLAHU AKBAR, ALLLLLLLLLAHU AKBAR! No Jews must come here" and then stated roaming the streets slaughtering Jews at night in their new homes in Palestine or on the streets with the daggers for Allah.
- The Jews that just realised they were almost wiped out in gas chambers said "Lai, lai" (Never, Never) and started fighting back. The news of them being killed in the Holy Land even led to more migration as angry Jews thought "these backward barbarians think even they can kill us too" and joined the fight to avoid another massacre like Hitler did them.
- This led to the 1947-48 civil war. The British, kia kia, (quick quick) pack their bags and left the area to independence. They just fought a WW and faced economic ruin, they aint getting involved in this shyt. grin
- The Israelis won the war and seized more Arab lands, drove out the inhabitants they did not slaughter and made them refugees till this day. The UN got involved in negotiating the end of the war in 1948 and let Israel keep some land, while Palestine took the rest unhappily.
- Another war broke out in 1967 with Arab nations trying to help the Palestines gain their land back and drive the Infidel settlers into the sea but Israel humiliated and defeated them in 6 days and even took the land of some of these Arab nations. But they gave it back years later.
- Since then Israel has overlorded over the area and locked the Palestines in a huge prison while some are still refugees without status in other Arab countries since 1948.
- Israel continues to bully them and even take more land despite the agreement made by the UN in 1948. These are what are known as illegal settlements.
- Palestinians continue to fight with the guerrilla warfare of sending bombs and suicide bombs to drive the infidels to the sea. Israel retaliates by committing atrocities of their own and then come and tell the world "We are civilised oppressors".
Interesting read, if this is the case, the end is not yet in sight, the issue now is who will. Succumb to who.

oluafolabi: Exactly. They also perform surgery, prescribe drugs and go on ward rounds. grin grin
Doclight: do there administer care to patients?
Though I sense scarsm on the first post but then...
A Med lab scientist doesn't perform surgery, if you are running a private lab, you will have to prescribe drug but if you are working in a hospital, the doctors is expected to prescribe the drugs not you safe for the prescription of antibiotics after M/C/S because you will be the one to do the sensitivity test and read the clearance and or resistance rate. And going for ward round does hold much water, even a nurse and hospital care attendant does so with the doctors. No rules said a scientist shouldn't do so. Infact seeing the patients and how they are something aid the scientists, and based on their observations too, they can discuss better discuss the patient's condition with the doctors and the way forward. But in Nigeria where we have created a wide gap between the doctors and scientists, you hardly see such happen. And the patients are the ones who suffer as a result of this.

jnrbayano: Yes, no where did that verse call anyone's name.

The verse talks about Judas. Judas repented but he didn't ask God/Jesus for forgiveness and he went on to kill despite knowing the "thou shall not kill" line.

Peter on the contrary denied Jesus too not once, not twice, he too was in the plan towards Jesus's passion but Peter snapped out of it, repented and sought God/Jesus's face.

Remember in the Last/Lord's Supper Jesus forcasted Judas betraying him just the way he forcasted Peter denying him.

One by his freewill chose to live, the other chose to die.

jnrbayano: The almighty, merciful and everloving father never created anyone to go to hell. His thoughts for us are of good and not of evil.

However, he put in us humans who were created in his image and likeness the gift of freewill.

Anyone who goes to hell choses so same with heaven.

God the father, through Jesus and the working of the Holy spirit has given us abundant guide to make heaven and also things we shouldn't do to avoid hell (expo) and that's a powerful testament to his love.
What do you understand by that part which stays "except he who is doomed to destruction so that scripture may be fulfilled"? If at the end this person goes to hell, will you attribute it to free will?

alexleo: Your explanation is quite a good one. Now in the light of what you ve explained, will you attribute Lucifer's fall to freewill? How?
Strictly speaking I won't attribute his fall to free will , if I understood you, you are saying if there was not free will, there wouldn't have been any room for Lucifer's fall, ..... Probably, but I will also say, free will is not a licence to sin,

I prefer saying Lucifer's fall is attributed to how he chose to channel his free will. Notice that he is not the only one to whom this free will was granted, the angels who refused to join him where also exercising their free will, whereas they channelled theirs in the right way, Luciifer allowed pride take over the better part of him and that led to his fall. The free will is not really the issue but what he chose to do with it is.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Other Side Of God. (christians Make Your Contributions So That We Can Learn) by SalC:
alexleo: ok. so explain
Sorry, I couldn't come back till now.

Angels as we know; are spirit creatures of God, though they can take up human body or say appear in human form if need be. God created them so yet not as his puppets or robots to be glued to his will alone but with free will and some quality which equally aids free will.

Free will is simply the "ability to make choices and decision" there certainly isn't a free will devoid of the ability of the said being to make choices and decisions, wills, and these to can only be made possible if the said being, possesses intelligence, can have feelings or emotions.

Let me give an instance of "no free will"
Let's say a programmed robot, this is an object that has been programmed and made capable of doing a thing without the ability of doing other, the reason why it cannot do otherwise is because it is incapable of even thinking on it's own, there is no room for emotion or compassion in it, it is incapable of going beyond the extent to which it was programmed, that is to say, outside the extent to which it was programmed, it is completely un-intelligent. It doesn't know of the possibility of anything outside what it already is, lack of emotion makes it insensitive to any other thing, it doesn't ever feel cheated or think it is capable of being like it's maker. ....that's a typical example of "no free will"

But when we talk about angels and humans, the reverse is the case, both we and angels possess some attributes or qualities which goes a long way to show free will and it's aids. On the part of humans, the evidence is overwhelming in our everyday life, so I will simply concentrate more on the angels.
Let's take a look at some of these qualities possessed by angels according to the scriptures....

EMOTION/FEELING
We read in Job 38:7 "while the morning stars sang together, and all the angels shouted for joy"
Here we see the angel rejoicing, ...a feeling of immense happiness which stems from the emotional feeling of fulfilment hence we can say, even angels feel emotionally satisfied or fulfilled. Therefore on the other hand, they also are capable of feeling the opposite, (unhappy and unsatisfied) and this is emotion on display.

DESIRE
1Pet 1:12
It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven Even angels long to look into these things
Here we see angels desiring to see or do a thing, that's to say they feel the need to acquire or know something which they probably do not know, these cannot be possible in the absence of free will, one who has not free will doesn't even realise there's something he ought to know or do which he has done already.

WILL
Isaiah 14:12-14
How are you fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn. You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, I will ascend to heaven, I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.
Considering that Lucifer said the above before he was thrown down, that's a lot of "I will" for one who has no free will.
For an angel to will the above, shows that it must have felt unsatisfied and cheated and knew of the possibility of attaining a new height.....that too doesn't sound like the absence of free will.

We can also see volition in the actions of the angels....
Jude :6
And the angels which kept not their first estate but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day.
Here it is revealed that angels have volition for some chose to stray/sin while others do not. This requires their volition, that means they had the free will to choose to remain with or go against God, there was "reason/intelligence", and the ability to choose between two ends of a thing.

In the light of the above, I couldn't but say angels do have free will.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Other Side Of God. (christians Make Your Contributions So That We Can Learn) by SalC: 9:45pm On Jul 07, 2014
alexleo: Good point there. God bless u. Many see God only from the love angle forgetting that he is also a judge. His love is great and his wrath is great too. He never hid this from man but sometimes we pretend as if we don't know. Sometimes too our selfish nature which makes us desire to receive good even when we give out evil also make us see God from the love angle only and use it to condemn the other side of him. Many have left the faith due to this one sided view.

Ok waiting for your explanation.
Sorry, I meant "without freewill", that was a typo, both we and angels have freewill.
