jnrbayano: Nothing upsets my stomach other than vegetables not washed well, half-done foods, polluted water, some very cold foods etc these will also purge majority of the people.

If my mind is in tune with a particular food, it can never purge me even if it's weird looking.

Your concern is well appreciated smiley
At bold really? cheesy

Ok o smiley

dagr8: That means there is a solution smiley How much does a bone marrow transplant cost?
I have lost two friends to this SS-thingy, not nice sad
And presently there is this friend "suffering" from it cry
Yep but there has been only one successful bone marrow transplant in Nigeria in UBTH on trial few months ago.

All other success stories happened abroad I am almost sure it runs into at least tens of millions embarassed

yetseyi: @ 2nd bolded really shocked e don reach nigeria?

I understand the aminoacid substitution perfectly. cheesy
had a first degree in biochemistry

@ 1st bolded hmm it could be either of the two cry or none at all
Do you work in naija if yes a govt or private clinic?
Yes the machine is presently in Nigeria, sparingly though cool atleast I was at the seminar for it's introduction in our hospital for it's introduction. Though we are yet to mount it cool

Thank God you understood the substitutions, dagr8 made me think I was speaking in tongues grin

Umm the possibility of it not being any of these two is very minimal, but in health, any surprise is possible grin at times we come across thing that defies any known theory or combines them all in one. (All or non law) grin

yetseyi: i think some of these roadside labs should be closed down. a lot of people are going about with results that are fake.

I had a cousin who was told she was Oplus not knowing she was AB minus. She lost her babe infact two due to the rhesus factor ish. It was later that they did another analysis that said she was ABminus. And that was even at a general hospital, I have seen how easy it is to make mistakes with these stuffs but anyway you guys are trying sha. I dnt think I can work in a medical lab.
Research lab yes. smiley
But these hospital labs we have in naija here where simple lab rules are not followed NOsad.
Hmmm O+ being substituted for AB- is what I term madness! It's either she was given another person's result or whoever did that test is clueless because the reaction of these two is almost completely opposite. That person if he is a Scientist needs his licence to practice withdraw for the mean time. To think it happened in a general hospital is disheartening.

Well I believe some labs make this mistakes due to how they handle these tests. In our hospital, we don't rush this tests especially genotype. we do that overnight, and the test is kept exclusively for the Scientist on call. The rule is that the scientist much conduct the test at least thrice and compare the results before giving out the result to avoid mistakes, because of this we have severally seen people who will say they have been AA since childhood and now we say they are AS. But so far our result have not been the wrong one.

Yes I agree that some of these "substandard Labs" should be closed down, even some labs in hospitals are worse than the road side lab. I once worked with one. And I couldn't help but resign especially when I was asked to train a secondary school leaver in the Lab, that's the problem we have in this country, substandard labs and unqualified workers.

Sorry about your cousin, I usually advice people to get this tests in different labs before getting convinced. If the two result conflict, they should get a third one. It's not too expensive, and life and safety. Is paramount.

jnrbayano: My dear, boarding house thought me different concepts in cuisine.

Yam and butter sounds crazy right? But I don't wanna know how something sounds but how it tastes/feels when it's combined.

Dunno whether you have tried eating rice with salad and Mayoness. Attimes you end up eating just a mixture of Mayoness and rice. The taste will just about be same as yam and butter combo methinks wink

I just don't dwell only on conventional food combinations, I try many combos my head can give birth to.

Jollof beans with Indomie on my mind now undecided
Interesting! Well my major concern should be if such combo won't upset your stomach. If not, carry go you hear. But that yam and butter is somewhat funny cheesy
