Apparently true

Lazzychins:
Exactly. Though, there is this rumour doing the round that a number of EH applicants got email for a SECOND TEST and then INTERVIEW from next week. The 'rumour' was forwarded from GT WhatsApp Group to EH WhatsApp group.

There is a difference between a **Project Engineer** and a **Process lEngineer**
Ok oooo

My thoughts though may indicate that invitations were sent to fewer people

Invites are in batches based on the roles applied for. Project Engineering applicants have not gotten invites. I have not gotten an invite too.
Be very sure if this sir.
Because the assessment is online from home...and date has been specified for selected candidates

Are you saying managerial cadre not yet contacted
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 9:51pm On Jan 26, 2023
Remuneration is very attractive

It's one of the best MDAs

They withhold a percentage of what they generate for themselves

If you are called for interview, make sure you make it there.....it's worth it

What's going on guys?

Anyone also heard or confirmed NERC is done with all assessments and shortlist?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 3:10pm On Jan 12, 2023
1. He may have been an aide to one of the members of the governing board. The governing board actually meets periodically with the management of NERC....

Apart from some statutory approvals by the governing board, NERC is a stand alone body and no one interferes with their day to day activities including recruitments

2. However the presidency (i.e. Mr President or through ministry of Power) could give some express instructions from time to time over anything...maybe the guy is from Mr President

3. The National Assembly members have oversight responsibilities and they have such power to check the activities of NERC and may legislate to interfere at any point through the law creating NERC itself....maybe the guy is an aide to a ranking senator who heads a standing committee overseeing NERC

So one may not admit or dismiss his claims

Celewater:
Min of works & housing has since been separated from Power.

Also, apart from NERC being the regulator, it is an independent body with quasi-judicial powers too. It’s not supervised by Min of Power as such. Ofcourse the Ministry does have a role to play as an industry participant but NERC doesn’t answer or pander to them as NERC needs to truly be independent in order to carry out its mandate
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 10:10pm On Jan 06, 2023
The difference is that in private sector, the time frame from application to APL is short, determined and communication lines are engaged

No one is saying you don't get job on merit at FG agencies.....but then for other obvious considerations...Mr A with 70% in the midst of other 80-90% from his zone may not get it while Mr B with 50% in the midst of other 45-60% from his zone may get it.....this is just one of those considerations

Shukusheka:
How often do recruiters provide test scores to applicants even in the Private sector, let alone Public service where the process is largely shrouded in confidentiality. People get FG job with merit alone as much as you lot choose not to believe it.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 5:38pm On Jan 06, 2023
The fact that scores can not be seen live after tests vitiate this claim....it takes more than scoring high alone....many considerations for any FG job

iPrinz20:
Yesterday, I was opportune to speak with a grade-A Rep member about this recruitment. The summary of our long talk is that, appointment will be based largely on Merit.

According to him, NERC is a quasi-government agency and the recruitment process is being handled by a contractor, politicians will have minimal influence.

Even if anyone will influence it for you, you must at least pass the exam satisfactorily then the person can put in positive words for you.

Merit leads here.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 4:59pm On Dec 20, 2022
You will have to be working currently in an MDA or participated in recruitments to any before, then you would understand...the criteria to shortlist candidates actually longer....it's never about scores in tests alone

akanbiaa:
All these analysis over same current naija? It is well.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC") Is Recruiting. by Salemed002: 2:29pm On Dec 20, 2022
Let's relax and not get agitated for nothing

Someone said scoring 140 In the two tests?

I thought the two tests had just 150 questions (100+50)?

So test 2 is 2 points per question?

Anyway, it doesn't really matter

1. Federal character can not force roles where application did not exist. Hence, for certain roles, those qualified and who applied may be skewed to certain states. Even at that shortlist will not be arbitrary. Here federal character does not really apply since available candidates are already limited

2. Where roles and qualified people spread across...federal character will be applied to ensure balance. This is done right from test stages to APL.

3. If after the tests and grading, high scores are found to be concentrated in few states, the best will be considered and some from other parts who may not score as high may also be considered to balance.

4. In the end, if federal character cannot balance across the six geozones based on peculiarity of roles and applications, north Vs south could be applied

5. Sometimes, someone may have below average score in tests or interviews but probably among only the few who applied to certain roles. E.g if only three persons applied to a role nationwide, and the three roles are vacant, they will be taken notwithstanding tests and interviews except if performances are ridiculously abysmal. Even at that, they will find replacement backdoor

Finally, it is this sort of sortings and considerations that often delay outcomes in MDAs recruitments.

Heard many saying the test was as sweet as dodo.....also heard among the very few applicants to top positions complain of the questions being loaded......probably NERC is up to something again? Cos the criteria for assessing those who passed the first stage was not linear or just by points scored alone

It's not mockery o, sorry if it comes out that way. But i won't lie you there was someone there that shouldn't be less than 60 i swear, could barely move mouse and even said he did only about 10 questions before time runs out. Why shortlist such kind of people and stress them? Even one of the coordinator told one of them "Oga you don pass this level nau, leave this thing for small boys". In his words o not mine and he too is elderly, they just laughed it out. But sorry about that na joke.

NERC is sending reminder emails for the test on Saturday. I guess those waiting for a reschedule or change of date/venue should not depend on this possibility. I think it's better to try all means possible to get to the scheduled venue rather than wait for a response to change it

4years experience for officer II? Please where was this stated? For calling fresh graduates to the 1st and even this 2nd stage, I believe Officers II will be their take

Edonnaa:
For people with 4years experience...

Didn't you go through the criteria? If one scale through and doesn't have up to 4 years experience, dey would be removed...

If you have ever done interviews for banks Graduate trainee program, you would know criterias are usually used in the last stage which is physical interview
