Both false, the handshake in that image was adopted by SVC, their street offshoots&few tertiary institution cult groups. Thank you for agreeing to answer a few of my questions. Like I said before, my aim in this has to do with how language is used to reinforce cult culture and that is what I'm mostly concerned with. I won't ask you questions pertaining to your initiation rites, cult rituals or violent encounters. I believe I know those already. I have more than 50 BAN documents in my possession and these documents do explain many things. However, you are right in your submission that speaking with a current member may be useful in making more sense of the information at my disposal.

When I was designing the method for my research, I had to use a mixture of non-participant observation, content analysis and interviews. For the non-participant observation, it was clear that I wouldn't be allowed to witness certain aspects of the cults' activities. Apart from that, I am working with up to 5 cult groups and I can't possibly have observatory leeway into all. I had to use the online medium. I became a member of virtual groups and website forums and I've been doing my participant observation virtually (for ethical reasons, I had to seek consent in some cases).

With regard to the content analysis, I have many documents, including the official handbook of many of the groups. I also have poems, essays, songs and other exchanges that can be analysed. I've interviewed some persons (they are very secretive). I've not made real progress with my interviewees so far. However, other things have covered for this.


I'm giving you this background so that you can rest assured that I do not have any ulterior motive other than my research. One of the major challenges I've had with BAN (unlike other groups) is that members seem too committed to it and therefore, are unwilling to share important insights on how language is exclusively used to create a true sense of belonging. If you are willing to answer my questions, that'll be great. I've asked some before (to Macro231101) and you can still help me answer those ones. However, more specifically, I want to know how much value your group gives to your cult language? Have you ever encountered situations where non-initiates learnt the language and impersonated? What happened to them? Would you say the group places more value on personal identification (via decknames) or on the "capping" abilities of the member?

If you're not comfortable answering these questions publicly, you can send me a pm (although I'd very much like if you answer them here as others can learn too). If you have to say something sensitive, you can use your "13:13" lingo. I'm able to read it well enough.

From the onset, my intention concerning Buccaneer cult language was 100% clear. You shouldn't work yourself up too much. I learnt everything you saw in my posts without going through the initiation process or associating closely with any known BAN member. If I can decode your language and your "13:13 capping", you should know that others can too. Nothing is a secret these days. By revealing these things here, we may do some good in removing the mystery behind the cults.

The poem begins with ODAS seized to be ODAS. This is one of the fundamental tenets of the Buccaneers confraternity. Pyrates confraternity has a quip that "Odas is Odas" (OIO). However, due to the bad blood that developed between Ricca Ricardo and NAS, he started his cult on the basis of Odas is NOT Odas (IOI or 101). You can see that the first line of the poem is integral to Buccaneer history.

Please tell us about the so-called "13:13 cappings" of BAN. I've done some research into constructed languages and linguistic codes and I've been able to decipher many of the linguistic codes of some fraternities. I'm in the process of documenting my findings. I have been able to crack some common codes used by BAN. I'm aware of some alphabetisms and even some contortions. E.g. Mybnc, bdb, cm, etc. I've also seen instances of numerical-alphabetisms as you've identified. However, a large chunk of their jargons seems to be elusive, especially when you consider that they present them in connected speech.

The members I know are not keen on sharing the codes for the more complex forms of communication. I do not ever intend to become a member of any cult group just because of a research. I am still studying the language based on observations of their virtual discussions and other "cult-culture" formations. I believe that I will eventually be able to publish the key to cult communications, including those of the Buccaneers.

However, do you have any "special" or "privileged" insights that may help?

one strange case of forceful initiations happened to a strong xtian fellowship brother back then.

I was still a flying bird(airlord with no hierarchy),the guy who orchestrated and tricked the fellowship bros was a parrot.



That fellowship bro and some other Christians came to preach at the parrot's villa,they saw the parrot smoking his cigarette at the back of the house and the fellowship brethren decided to go preach to the parrot. Seeing that the young parrot didn't get aggressive at the preaching encouraged the xtian brethren and they came some days to preach to him.


On one particular visit,me and three other airlords came to pay a visit to the parrot and he entertained us with marijuana and hot gin at the back of his hostel.we were still smoking when the preachers came,they called the parrot aside and started preaching vehemently.the parrot co-operated with them.


Seeing the co-operation from the parrot encouraged the preachers to move over to us and they started preaching to us also.


We dropped the weed we were smoking and co-operated with them.this made the preachers collect the number of three among us.the fourth person had no phone(his phone had actually been collected from him by one of the nightingales).


In a bid to get closer to us,the preachers keep calling us to preach to us.


One day that we were supposed to go for meeting,i was at the ibaka's house(with several other eiye frat members) preparing for the meeting that will happen in the next few hours.when I saw the parrot coming in,followed closely by one of the preachers.the preacher was holding a Bible and some small books.


I was totally surprised seeing the preacher.after some minutes,the preacher stood up and started preaching to us in a loud voice.he was fully animated while preaching.


(I'm sure in his mind,he saw this as an opportunity to harvest several bad guys for Christ.if only he knows that plans are underway to harvesting his poor self into a cult group,maybe he would have stayed back at the Baptist student fellowship he's a member of)


He later asked that if anyone wants to give his life to Christ,such person should signify.the ostrich claimed he wants to(me and some others who are not too familiar with the ostrich fast brain were surprised at such behavior from him,but others who know how cunning and smart he is were not surprised.they knew he's up to something as regards the preacher).he had a very remorseful look on his face.


Some other birds(about six)played along with the ostrich,they also pretentiously claimed they went to turn over a new leave.


After the preacher had made a mighty prayer of repentance,and proclaiming the ostrich and those other airlords as born again believers now,he encouraged to always come to services at the Baptist fellowship.


The ostrich told him his twin brother who introduced him to smoking marijuana is in an health center in town battling for his life,he said he would love the preacher to come and pray for him. The preacher was dumb enough not to know this is a fine trick been played on him,he agreed to go pray for the fictitious twin brother immediately.

That was it!!

The ostrich and four among the six went into a taxi(along with the Baptist preacher).

all this while,the preacher didn't know he's among the notorious eiye confraternity,nor did he know that the taxi driver is a dove in the street gathering of eiye.also,he didn't know there were some loaded guns inside the car


It was after driving out of town that the preacher became apprehensive but they keep calming him down and always throwing him off guard with some biblical and religious gists.

After some driving,they got down and took the preacher to the initiation ground.he wanted to resist at first but when he saw guns,blue berrets and they announced themselves as the notorious eiye confraternity,the preacher had to tone down and co-operated. He was flown at that meeting and he became an airlord!!


From a strong Baptist member to becoming a member of a deadly campus cult group!


Sad enough,the preacher lost his life in a cult related killing two years later...
