Tittusstar22:Based on the fact that the minister of education banned management courses from technological universities recently, there are no other Mgt. Courses they can give to me as alternative. |
I believe nairaland as a forum consist of various professionals from various spheres of life thus my hope and belief in finding a solution to this problem of mine. I was among those who struggled for admission into various tertiary institutions of this nation.Having previously completed a pre-degree programme, my chances of gaining admission into our very competitive universities became very high. To cut a long story short, I finally gained admission into my school of choice, collected my admission letter, paid school fees and did my registration but upon resumption, I was called by the school admission officer, who requested I handover to him the original copy of my admission letter which I did and that the school have decided to withdraw my admission due to wrong subject combination in UTME. I have pleaded and have done all within my power but all to no avail and knowing very well how competitive gaining admission in this country is couple with the fact that I will have to stay at home for another year after much struggle and couple with the fact that admission Windows have been closed for this year, I am now left frustrated. Therefore I am using this opportunity to seek the advice of Nairalanders who are somehow professionals and even insiders including educational bloggers who have insight on how I can solve this problem of mine. Please Help. Lalasticlala Seun Mynd44 Others Help a Nairalander by moving this to Frontpage for meaningful opinions. Lest I forget, I opted studying Mgt. Tech. and my JAMB subject combination are maths, accounting, commerce but the school is insisting Economics is compulsory. |
To those mentioning Google Chrome over puffin browser, I must confess you haven't used the puffin browser and as such you are missing a lot. The desktop version of puffin cannot be compare to Chrome and the browsing experience is great as well but my problem with puffin is that it won't load with 2G network because I may walk into an area with less network at anytime and decide to resolve to 2G but puffin won't load but nevertheless nice list @Op. |

During the week, it was announced that popular family game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire would be back on air with a new sponsor, Airopay. It has been reliably gathered that after 13 years of hosting the show, popular broadcaster, Frank Edoho, would be dropped and replaced by someone yet to be unveiled. An organiser of the said that they did not have any problem with Edoho, so it was an amicable agreement. “The only difference about the show is that the star prize money has reduced from N10m to N5m. Also, it is very likely that we are not going to use Frank Edoho as our anchor. We are not dropping him because we had any issue with him. I think he feels it is time to go and find other endeavours. “For now, our viewers would only be able to play on the MTN platform till we are able to sort out ways whereby they can play from any network provider and that would be resolved very soon. We are under no obligation to play on the MTN platform alone. Airopay is thrilled to partner with Ultima Limited, whose passion and dedication to quality and world class productions are well known, by sponsoring the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Nigeria game show. Airopay is honoured by this partnership. Airopay and Ultima are convinced that the synergy between Airopay and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game show will be mutually beneficial,” the source said. A man who raped women as they slept has been jailed for eight years. Duncan Burgess, 34, had denied preying on a woman and a teenage girl but was convicted after an earlier trial. He claimed one of the victims had lied to get “revenge” on him. The attacks happened in Paisley, Renfrewshire and Glasgow between 2010 and 2016. Judge Lady Stacey said the crimes had had a “considerable effect” on the victims. She said: “One has lost her self confidence while the other has suffered such a shock and has found it difficult to get back into her normal life.” Burgess – who still protests his innocence – will also be supervised for a further two years on his release and was put on the sex offenders list indefinitely. ‘Shocked’ by accusation The father-of-three raped the first woman, who was 28, at a house in Paisley. The High Court in Glasgow heard that he was controlling towards her and made demands, including that she cook and make certain meals. His QC John Scullion asked: “Did you ever sexually assault her? Did you ever have sex with her when she was asleep?” Burgess replied: “No, of course not.” He insisted the woman had lied as she now “did not like” him. He then went on to rape a 17-year-old girl at a flat in Cardonald, Glasgow, in 2016. Burgess – who was in a relationship at the time – claimed he was “shocked” when the teenager made the accusation. He told the jury: “I asked her what she was talking about. I did not know what to think. “I felt sick. I could not get my head around what she had said.” ‘Pack of lies’ The court heard he later sent a text to the girl which stated he had “no clue” what the claims were about. The victim recalled in a message to Burgess that her heart had been “thumping” after she awoke that morning. Burgess claimed in evidence this victim had lied as well to “get her own back” Prosecutor Keith O’Mahony asked why she would have wanted “revenge”. Burgess, latterly of Dunoon, Argyll and Bute, replied that he had allegedly caught the girl stealing and had told her mother. Mr O’Mahony added: “In general, your evidence has been a complete and utter pack of lies?” Burgess said: “No.” Mr Scullion said Burgess continued to have the support of his partner and mother. |
Former president, Goodluck Jonathan has reminded Nigerians of a statement he made in 2014 about how his administration will be missed for its total freedom. The former president made this reference in a picture he shared on Thursday, August 24. Jonathan reminded Nigerians of his quote where he said: I am the most abused and insulted president in the world, but when I leave office, you will all remember me for the total freedom you enjoyed under my government. The post has generated reactions from Nigerians as while some agreed with him, other criticised his administration saying the freedom he was referring to was of corruption. NijaBlog have earlier reported how the Nigeria senate lauded Buhari Monday national broadcast. Source: www.nijablog.com.ng/former-president-reminds-nigerians-of-his-prediction/ |

President Muhammadu Buhari has been praised
by the Senate, for his live national broadcast
which was delivered on Monday August 21,
Tribune reports.
According to the upper legislative chamber,
Buhari’s speech was “apt, precise and highly
cogent.”
NijaBlog gathers that the lawmakers delivered
their remarks via Senator Sabi Abdullahi,
Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and
public Affairs.
Abdullahi lauded the President for tackling the
key issues, stating: “Remember, he dismissed the so-
called quit notice as well as telling the secession
agitators that the unity of the country is not negotiable.
“As a statesman and diligent leader, he needs not to say
much until he has made wide consultations and been
widely briefed on all contentious issues in great details.
“He need not rush to make elaborate speech, even
though he is quite in the know of the happenings while
on medical vacation.”
Abdulahi stressed that despite the President’s
health challenge, the Buhari administration was
still purposefully engaged in bringing the
country back on the right track.
He stated: “This government is on the path to bring
Nigeria back to the path of sanity.
“It was cascading and tumbling down a gradient without
control until the All Progressives Congress (APC) came
in at the nick of time.
“For instance, by June 30, our reserve was $30.288
billion and by August 16, it went up to $31.551 billion.
In other words, the economy has started picking up in
quantum.
“APC is just out to right the wrong things or
destructions done to the country, to the economy and
socio-fabric of this nation in years of Peoples
Democratic Party’s (PDP) rule.
“Senate is no doubt happy with the speech in its
entirety.”

Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the
Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has
criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for
allegedly comparing the group to Boko Haram.
Kanu spoke in Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia
where he was responding to the call by the
president to security operatives to clamp down
on Boko Haram and secessionist groups.
He said the people must not be “railroaded into
succumbing to intimidation.” Insisting that use
of force would not solve the country’s problem.
Nnamdi Kanu said Buhari “should know that
there are better ways to handle issues that
concern the growth and development of the
country instead of resorting to threat or
intimidation of the citizenry into believing in
his course.
Kanu said: “In this debate for freedom, everybody has
to be heard. Buhari should defeat me with the
superiority of his argument not AK 47.
“Some people quickly recourse to violence, hate and
intimidation because they have lost the force of
argument.”
“It is the continuation of Buhari’s dictatorial and
unwholesomely undemocratic approach to governance.
“I find it unacceptable and insulting that somebody
elected by the people can turn around and dictate to
them how he wants them to behave.”
Kanu spoke shortly after his visit to Senator
Enyinna Abaribe in Abia on Tuesday, August
22.
The Biafra leader claimed the federal
government has failed to protect the people
which was why he set up a secret service to do
so.

After taking the life of his heartthrob, Air Craft Woman Oladipupo Solape also known as Shomzy, Air Craft Man Bernard Kalu, a Regular Airman of the 533 Central Armament Depot at the Makurdi Air Force Base was Wednesday night sentenced to death by hanging by a Special Court Marshal set up by the Nigerian Air force to try him for killing a colleague whom he shared intimate relationship with at the Base. It was indeed a tale of love that went sour between the two Air Force personnel who had had a blistering love affair which unfortunately came crashing like a pack of cards. And Like the tale of Romeo and Juliet both were apparently destined to pay the ultimate price. Kalu’s journey to the gallows started last March when he deliberated shot and killed Solape whom he was so much in love with. Saturday Vanguard gathered at the time that ACM Kalu shot his colleague and girl friend to death for allegedly having an affair with a civilian personnel at the Base. An eyewitness had revealed at the time that the incident happened shortly after Kalu closed from his routine duty about 6am and went straight to the official residence of his supposed lover, only to find her in bed with a civilian male friend. The enraged ACM was said to have pulled out his service gun and shot the lady on the neck and also attempted to shoot her male friend who narrowly escaped being hit by his bullets. He also attempted unsuccessfully to take his own life before he was apprehended by neigbours who took him to the command’s Quarter Guard for detention. Solape was rushed to the Makurdi Air Force Hospital and later the Benue State University Teaching Hospital where she eventually died. The murder of Solape came as a rude shock to colleagues and neigbours who couldn’t fathom the mind bugling collapse in their love affair. Close friends of the two military personnel claimed that the pair began dating shortly after they met at a parade in Makurdi from where they struck a love-cord. Before the heinous shooting, ACM Kalu was said to have left a suicide note in which he tried to justify his action. In the said note, he made no apologies for his plans. Part of the said note read, “most idiots would insult me but I would rather be called a crazy lover who died for heartbreak. “It’s a privilege for me writing this note because it would be read by most men. It’s a love story of a guy falling in love with a wrong witch who pretended to be good in my eyes and in the eyes of my loving mother. “I am a simple guy who never partook in nefarious activities. Most individuals say I have a future, here it is. Am a guy who pulled two rounds in a witch and one round to my fucking body. “For it is said he who kills by the sword shall die by it. Most idiots would insult me, yes! If I were to be in their shoes I would do the same likewise. If they were to be in my shoes, they would even pull more than three rounds on the witch. Call me crazy lover who died for heartbreak.” After perpetrating the act, Kalu was immediately arrested for questioning by the Force. Consequent upon that, the Nigeria Air Force, NAF, immediately constituted a 10-man Special Court Marshal for Kalu’s trial and he was subsequently arraigned for the first time on May 22nd., this year. At the hearing which held at the NAF Base Makurdi, President of the court, Group Captain Elisha Bindul, read out the eight-count charge of murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempt to commit murder, failure to perform military duties and losing service property to the accused. He explained that the accused was charged with losing service property at Corporal and Below Quarters, Compound Nine, wherein on the said date he lost three life rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition out of 40 issued to him for base defence duty. The accused pleaded not guilty to all the charges read to him. His counsel, Mr. Ada Tsobaza, who applied for adjournment informed the court that the charge sheets were only made available to him on Sunday, adding that he needed time to prepare his defence. The prosecutor did not object to the application. In his ruling the Court President adjourned the case to June 2 for the commencement of hearing. The trial of the 21 year old ACM Kalu went on in line with the laid down rules and ethics of the military and last Tuesday he was sent to the hangman’s noose. Reading out the almost 70 paged court findings which lasted for over two hours, the Judge Advocate, Flight Lieutenant Moses Umoh listed the charges against Kalu which included murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempted murder, failure to perform military duty, loss of service property, disobedience of service order as well as prejudice of service discipline. Umoh noted that the accused pleaded not guilty to all the count charges adding that prosecution brought 13 witnesses while three witnesses including the accused were called by the defense counsel. He stated that “even though prosecution found him guilty on all the eight count charges, defense, in closing their case said prosecution had not proved the case beyond reasonable doubts.” The defense counsel, Abimiku Ewuga had urged the court to temper justice with mercy in their sentence especially as the accused was a first time offender and the bread winner of his family. But delivering his judgement, President of the Court, Group Capt. Elisha Bindul who found the accused guilty in six out of the eight-count charges preferred against him sentenced him to death by hanging but subject to the confirmation of the conveying authority. Defence counsel . “we will surely move to the court of appeal as this court marshal is not the final stage.” On his part, the Prosecution Counsel, Oluremi Ilori lauded the judgement stating that everybody including the deceased would be happy with the outcome of the trial. According to Metro UK, the 12-year-old boy is said to have repeatedly raped the girl, who was 4-year-old. The girl eventually told her mother while having her bath and the boy has admitted to raping and sexually touching his sister. He was found guilty of a second count of rape. The court was told the boy owned a mobile phone and investigators had found a significant amount of porn on it. Youth offending experts are to carry out weeks of a****sment to decide whether he poses a risk to the public and whether he should face jail. At an earlier hearing in the court, the mother of the girl, who is half sister to the boy, wiped away tears as she described how her little girl had told her. The girl’s mother, recounting how her daughter told her about the incident, said, “She said to me ‘Mummy I want to tell you something.’ She didn’t normally say things with such an introductory manner. “She wanted to tell me. It was something important to her. She said it happened while they were playing hide and seek. “She said he offered her sweeties to do this. She said she didn’t like it but she liked the sweeties. “I said to her liking sweeties was perfectly all right but he should never have offered her sweets to do something like that. “She said ‘he made me like Skittles.’ She was clearly cross about that. I said to her ‘why didn’t you tell Mummy?’ and she said ‘He told me not to.’” The presiding Judge, Teresa Szagun, said a significant amount of pornographic material had been found on the boy’s phone. The judge warned the boy that he faces the possibility of a severe custodial sentence. The judge said, “I’m sure what she described is accurately what happened to her. The way she spoke was very factual and articulate. “She was able to tell me about those experiences very well. What she describes was you making her take off her skirt and pants, telling her not to tell, it was a secret, giving her sweets.” The court was told the boy has already been subjected to psychological a****sments to see whether he can tell the difference between right and wrong. The Nigerian Air Force personnel, Bernard Kalu, who was dismissed and convicted for killing his lover, an Air Woman identified as Oladipupo Sholape, has given an insight on his reason for committing the crime. Kalu in his statement told the general court marshal that he did not know when he killed Sholape. The statement was read out by MA Umoh, a flight lieutenant after Kalu's conviction. Kalu said he had suspected his late girlfriend was having a love affair with another man even after he promised to propose marriage to her before his mother. Umoh while reading the findings of the judge advocate on the matter said Kalu noted that he however introduced the late air woman as a lover to his mother. He said he did not succeed at proposing to her as previously promised. He added that the night before he committed the crime, his mother had advised him to focus on his exams rather than think about marriage. He said he (Kalu) began noticing that his late girlfriend was withdrawing from him. He apologized and they continued on a good note until during Sholape's last birthday in February, when they had a fight over his inability to make a gift presentation to her. The issue was however, settled amicably. But on March 11, he said he had gone to Compound 9, Corporal and Below Quarters where Sholape had just gotten an accommodation when she introduced him to another man, Samuel Echo. Kalu said he immediately suspected Sholape was having a relationship with Echo. He noted that he found time alone to scroll through Sholape's phone to see questionable chats on her phone. He said as soon as Sholape walked in from the kitchen where she was making food, she got angry and queried why he was going through her phone. But inquiring about the chats on her phone, Kalu said Sholape answered, “now you know, so what else.” Kalu said he got angry, immediately started having a headache and had no option than to go back to his house to sleep. He however said it was when sleep availed him that he put on his camouflage uniform at his friend's place and next, he saw himself in the guardroom. He said he later got hold of himself after he was told he had killed his girlfriend. He also denied killing Sholape. However, the president of court martial group, Captain Elisha Bindul, found Kalu guilty on six out of the eight-count charges levelled against him. Bindul sentenced him to death by hanging, subject to the confirmation of the judgement by the conveying authority. The air man was charged for killing his girlfriend Sholape in Makurdi, Benue state on March 12, 2017. Kalu's counsel Abimiku Ewuga has also said he would appeal the judgement by the general court martial. More at www.bettigossip..com |

The Federal Government is considering the establishment of a National Guard to professionally address emerging security threats and emergencies in the country. Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja when the Adjutant General of the California National Guard, U.S paid him a courtesy visit. The National Guard is a security outfit established to tackle national security threats and emergencies like it’s obtained in the U.S. The minister however stressed that a lot of consultations would be done with all stakeholders before any decision is taken in that regard. He recalled that several years ago, the government had planned the establishment of a National Guard, but the idea did not come to fruition due to a number of challenges. Dambazau explained that the National Guard would help to fill the gap between the operations of the Military and the Nigerian Police in tackling security challenges and emergencies. He said that the military is becoming increasingly involved in dealing with some security threats in the country which is outside their constitutional mandate while the Police might be overstretched in dealing with such issues. He said Nigeria will continue to collaborate with the International community, including sharing experiences with the U.S Army in the training of Nigeria’s security personnel. He said that the visit of U.S military officials would help strengthen the cordial relationship between both countries, especially as regards security. Earlier, the adjutant general, Maj.-Gen. David Baldwin said that they were in Nigeria to foster partnership between both countries. He said that California as one of the biggest states in the U.S had its own National Guard like other states which is responsible security and emergencies. He said the California National Guard will be involved in the training of Nigeria’s security agencies under the Ministry of Interior such as the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, NSCDC and Prisons to deal with security challenges/emergencies. Baldwin said that the training is designed for two to three years to equip the security personnel with modern trend in security and emergency operations. On the establishment of a National Guard in Nigeria, he said that it was up to the Nigerian government to decide the veracity and modalities for the establishment of any security outfit. He however said the National Guard is a very strategic and cost effective outfit that has helped the U.S in tackling security challenges and emergencies such as flood, fire and other natural disasters. But what then happens to peace corp of Nigeria(PCN) who have been clamouring for recognition?. More at www.bettigossip..com |

With the high rates of videos and stories of individuals secretly filmed flooding the internet,it is imperative to therefore devise a way to checkmate this unlawful act being perpetrated by individuals with selfish interest. Nigerian soldiers can hate civilians for Africa...apart from various report and physical contacts with military brutality, I confirmed this when I went for their NDA screening, they practically told us that to become a civilian is nothing and does not deserve any respect whatsoever... I was even shocked when a cadet called his brother who was also an aspirant using words like" Edo 08,jump up here you foolish civilian, you have no ryt for me to come and meet you as a civilian even if you are my brother, is that clear until you are accepted and transform from your miserable civilian life,is that clear just as no civilian in this world have no ryt to shake me cause they are indiscipline and wayward humans"I was like 'wow,is this what they teach this guys here...Do this people even know that without civilians, there would exist no military or police...and this military brutality are usually carried out by the recruits who I usually pity due to their suffering, u see them walking wayward in the barrack clearing officers quarters and others and when they get old and retired,no achievement, I remembered the day some soldiers were clearing our surrounding, he just cleared the place and destroyed our car with dirt,I made sure he rewash that car that day... The 2017 JAMB UTME examination has been concluded
since the supplementary exams has been conducted
earlier on 1st July 2017 and as expected, JAMB will
boldly declare " The 2017 UTME examination was a huge
success" leaving those who didn't attain the National cut-
off mark traumatized but do you know you can still go to
the University by doing any of the following :
1. Pre-degree programme
This is a right programme for those who failed JAMB and
many Nigeria universities are offering this programme,
the main idea behind the this programme when it was
established in the 90s was to solve the problem of
admission in Nigeria varsities I.e the strenuous problem
associated with gaining admission in Nigeria.
Applicants, who are usually divided into both science and
management/art/social science students are usually
taught courses/topic related to their 100level counterpart
giving them more advantage than their fellow admission
seekers both in academic skills and admission
opportunity.
The disadvantage of this programme is the fact that
candidates are made to write JAMB again in order to
authenticate their admission in which failure to attain the
National cut-off mark leads to your waste of resources
and time.
2. IJMB/Jupeb
We don't really know the difference between this two
programmes but the information at our disposal shows
that IJMB(interim joint matriculation board) is runned by
Ahmadu Bello University(ABU Zaria) and it is a sure way
of gaining admission into the University since candidates
who are liable to complete the programme will be
admitted into 200level directly but as you know with
regards to programmes as this, there are usually terms
and conditions.
The disadvantage of this programme is the cost as it runs
into thousands of thousand but who says " something
good comes cheaply".
3. Diploma
This is a diploma programme usually run by various
individual universities e.g MAUTECH YOLA, DELSU,
UNILAG e.t.c on which upon completion, admission into
200level is granted to candidates. It is a two year
programme and the fees are relatively cheap.
3. Apply to state polytechnic,COE, IEI for admission.
It is worthy of note that as of last year, JAMB made a
policy that cut-off point for all tertiary institutions shall be
180 and we believe same will hold sway this year but we
know that practically speaking, some less competitive
state polytechnic, colleges of education (COE) and
innovative enterprise Institute(IEI) shall not implement
this policy e.g Nuhu Bamalli(Nubapoly) kaduna judging
based on their last year policy. So why don't you sit
down, research and take a lucrative programme in any of
these programmes.
In conclusion MyCampusDaily want to encourage jambite
who didn't attain the National cut-off point and even
those who may not gain admission this year for one
reason or the other to take full advantage of some of
these opportunities.
Add Yours and ask Your questions at the comments box.
Best regards.

MyCampusDaily special Sunday research is dedicated to all our Christian brothers and even Muslims who believe in one way or the other the story about the man(Jesus Christ).Today we shall be highlighting the scripture reference Jesus used in resisting the Devil. I know that as a Christian, there must have been sometime you read matt. 4(Story of Jesus temptation) and you were confused i.e of where He was referencing to when He usually say"for it is written",Today this post shall answer that. 1.Devil: if you are the son of God,tell/turn this stone into bread(matt. 4:3) Jesus: it is written(Deut. 8:3) Man does not live by bread alone but on every word from God mouth(Matt. 4:4) 2.Devil: if you are the son of God,throw yourself down(Matt. 4:6) Jesus:it is written (Deut. 6:16) Do not put the Lord your God into test.(Matt. 4:7) 3.Devil: all this i will give to you if you bow down and worship me,says the tempter(Matt.4:9) Jesus: away from me Satan!for it is written(Deut. 6:13) worship the Lord your God and serve Him only. Conclusion: This proof of the actual words of Christ being in Old testament leaves Christians with another character of Christ and that is studying the word of God but note the Devil also study the word of God,this can be seen in Matt. 4:6 where He was quoting from Psalm 91:11. I was shock yesterday when i caught my sister aged 14 having sex with my or our younger brother who will clock 9 by the end of this month. it all started when i wanted to enter their room but the door was lock,i ask them to open it and it took some time and the 14 years girl opened it and was rushing to her bed immediately and the 9years boy was rushing outside the room but i notice his peem peem erect and i hold him back, pull his trouser to confirm what my eyes are seeing,i asked what they were doing and he started crying "nothing,we were just telling each other stories",i never wanted my parent to hear because the beating ehhh,so i told him to go and i promise myself to keep my eyes on them. But it all done on me when i walked into my mum's room and actually caught their two having sex on my mum's bed,the boy was on top with his dick out erect though i can't confirm if there was penetration but both have been begging me not to tell our parent that i should punish them anyhow i want and they won't try it again.now i am in a confuse state wondering where they learn that from and my 14years sister,is she not actually possessed having sex with his own younger brother. Nairalanders, pls what can i do to this two without my parent knowing?.though i have handed them some minor punishment and beatings |
