But Mohammed the son of Buhari was favoured among them that seeketh the throne from the camp of the APC for he swore unto the leaders of the camp saying, "Behold brethren, I am full of age and my eyes are becoming dim, suffer me to ascend unto the throne for I shall only reign for four years". And Buhari was anointed king over the kingdom.

18. And it troubled the son of Abubakar in his heart that he was rejected as king again. But he saith in his heart, I shall be of long suffering and remain in this camp for I shall ascend unto the throne after the fourth year of king Buhari.

19. But it came to pass that as the end of the fourth year of king Buhari's reign was at hand that the advisers in the king's court said unto him, be of good courage, gird thy loins and present thyself to be appointed again to reign over the kingdom for another four years.

20. And when Atiku heard of these words that he was vexed with anger and he repenteth that he joined the APC.

21. And he said, "I shall arise and go back to PDP which is the camp of my youth. And I shall declare unto them, “I have sinned against thee and against God. Accept me this day that I may once again contend the throne in thy bosom”.

22. And on the twenty fourth day of the eleventh month of the year before a new king is appointed that Atiku the son of Abubakar departed from the camp of APC and joined the camp of his youth.

23. And there was great jubilation in the camp of PDP that day for they said, “Verily, the prodigal son returneth.

24. And they gathered themselves together and overturn and overturn until Atiku the son of Abubakar was selected to be king over the land.

The fact is that, like many other people , in Standard English , there is nothing like
international passport.

The name of that document required principally for international trips is simply a passport and neither an international nor a local passport .

The reason is that the definition and scope of ‘ passport’ already includes the idea of international . So , any attempt to add the adjective amounts to tautology .

Remember , tautology is the concept that captures the largely faulty style of saying the same thing twice over in different words.

A lot of people exhibit this linguistic menace ; hence , the need to regularly revisit the topic .
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a passport is a document provided by the government of a country showing the owner is a citizen of the country . This thus allows the person to travel to foreign countries .

The dictionary further describes it as “ an official document issued by a government , certifying the holder’ s identity and citizenship and entitling them to travel under its protection to and from foreign countries . ”

Based on these definitions , it is wrong to still call the document international passport ; after all, you do not need a local passport to travel within your country .

Unfortunately , the wrong expression has penetrated our communication culture so much that many official documents , such as registration forms, expressly ask for information about one’ s international
passport .

Perhaps the reason for this is the prestige often attached to the document since it more or less makes one an international citizen . So , it must be an
international or a global passport !

Well , the most important point is that when next you want to refer to it , just call it passport for that is its correct and universally accepted tag .

As some experts have noted, it is the tautology syndrome that is also at work in words or phrases such as over -exaggerates . , reverse back , return back , close proximity , predict the future , necessary requirement , autobiography of a person ’ s life , completely devoid of , repeat again , added bonus etc.

When you exaggerate something , you overstate it .

So , you cannot practically overstate an overstatement , since it is only Fela Anikulapo-Kuti that could insist that ‘ overtake don overtake overtake…’ When you reverse a car , you move it backwards . So , why do some people – especially policemen – insist on
reverse back again ?

Can one reverse front ? The same thing applies to return. You either come back or return – neither return back nor resume back .

Similarly, proximity already depicts closeness ; prediction is about the future , while requirement implies things necessary for a particular process .

For years, I’d always been in doubt as to if match fixing truly exist. If it does, then football is fast losing it authenticity and is not different from our continuously scripted wrestle mania. This would be a slap on the suspense of we lovers of the game.

It was not expected by the youths and Nigerians at large when earlier in the day, the Acting President of the country effected the overhauling of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) after cries have been made on the actions of the said squad especially by the youths with the hashtag #ENDSARS being widely supported all over the Nigerian media space.

However, it is unarguable that Barrister Sega vividly and ardently pushed for scrapping of the Squad. He is noted to have taken up legal actions against the SARS and even physically fought the special police unit. Through him, the youths got a sense of motivation and more attention was shed on the movement.

Going by the topic, I know many are already disinterested because this is a point many are giving up on prayers for Nigeria. Many are now clamoring more governmental actions than prayer for Nigeria. As a matter of fact, many celebrities on their various social handles are canvassing ‘get your PVCs’... But the truth remains, whatever it is good or bad, the place of prayer cannot be neglected. The Queen of England still gets prayed for by her citizens; ‘God bless the Queen’. Americans are never tired of mentioning prayers for their country; ‘God bless America’.
Nigeria is not an exception.
Yes, God is not a magician to give us good economy neither is he an electric guru to give us stable power nor a road safety expert to prevent road accidents. No. Humans in power will be needed to fix it but then you still need to pray for good leaders who will serve the nation.
Prayer is not negotiable.
June and especially the last week, has been a very sensitive moment in Nigeria. This is July, the first day of it and it’s a Sunday, why not for the love of the country drop a statement for Nigeria?
