I started having Pregnancy induced hypertension in my second pregnancy but my husband(in the selfish nature of men) kept hammering that we were going to try for a 4th child,despite my health condition..Asthmatic(and I had bad exacerbations in both pregnancies) plus preeclampsia.
Eventually signed for a BTL during my CS.
3 Children are more than enough.
I had even wanted 2 ,only for the second pregnancy to come as twins.
I always put myself and children first.

1st pregnancy was a single birth.. Vaginal delivery
2nd pregnancy..a set of twins.C/S
My husband and I are medical doctors.
I worked all through both pregnancies and saved up money for MY delivery.
I only started maternity leave 3 weeks before my EDD.
Men are naturally very selfish people.

A reasonable woman should not put her hope on a man.
If women know how much their husbands hate them for real,they will love themselves more.
Husband is just waiting for you to die so he can marry a new wife.

It is a sad story. But like you wrote, there is a 9-month period to prepare. The man should take some blames, and not the hospital, especially for this reason. Who knows if the hospital do have maternity services? If he had deposited, say 10% of the requested deposit, who knows the hospital might have commenced treatment. The situation he narrated shows the hospital referred them to a government hospital, where they might get better treatment and a cheaper or even free rate. That wasn't bad from this private hospital. Moreover, if he didn't have enough money for deposit, he should have gone to a government hospital first. I think private hospitals can be expensive because of the bills and salaries they need to pay.

Sad situation, but hope Nigerians would learn.
