Adding water to the lime produces slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) in an exothermic reaction.

CaO(s) + H2O(l) → Ca(OH)2(s)

If the whole container gets considerably warmer on addition of water your discovery may be a limestone. But to be solid sure you can get a small quantity of Hydro Chloric acid (HCl).

When added to limestone this gives off carbon dioxide CO2 gas. A gas that will put-off a burning candle flame.

No, i don't think it is a gold. I just googled images of limestones and the images i saw looked like what i saw in my land!!! I am not exaggerating i saw it in large quantity covering the whole land. If it is limestones how do i go about it to get them sold.
