Emirates and Qatar only fly from Lagos, Emirates stopped flying from Abuja since last year, you will have to go through Lagos if you are using Emirates or Qatar, that's why I'm using Ethiopia cos I'm in Abuja, From Abuja you can only get Ethiopia and Turkish

If you don't have a friend over there, then contact a Dubai based travel agency to do it for you and take up from there

Madam I also go to Dubai for business and medical trip, infact I've been to Dubai more than 20 times infact I've lost count I started going to Dubai since 2006, ask the people that do your visa for you, you should have a link over there or a friend based there by now, since you go often that person should be able to assist you, not necessarily an agent

I'm confused, please I need assistance. On the VFS Global website (dubaivisa.net), they said the 14 day visa starts counting from the date of issue.

Since I don't know the exact date the visa will be issued and I have to submit a confirmed Emirate ticket, what date (departure date) should then be on the emirate ticket so as to avoid wasting ticket money?

OR is it when I enter UAE that the 14 days starts counting?

Validity of the visa is 14 days meaning you have to enter Dubai before the 14th day elapses from the date the visa was issued and once you enter Dubai you have 14 days duration of stay, so from the date your visa was issued if you don't enter Dubai within 14 days it will expire

A paid airline ticket is not attached to your visa application, but what happens if your visa is not approved and you had already paid for airline ticket? You now see why it is advice able to get your visa first before paying for a ticket, except of course if you are 100% sure you will get the visa

On another note if you are applying through emirates airlines you need to attach your fully paid Emirates airline ticket

I don't think it's true cos I just got my visa today, but mind you I'm a frequent traveler and also not below 40, so a ban on Nigerians I'm not sure but probably restrictions and I also confirm from people in Dubai and they said nothing like that but others can still chip in

I want to share my testimony here... Its long overdue anyways lol. Hmmmmmm... Where do I start from... God has just been too good and merciful. I won't say it has been easy and won't say it has been hard.... Its been in between fluctuating to both sides at intervals, most times the latter.

I left Nigeria in April 2016, headed to UAE... With fear of the unknown or what was on ground. I just had to take that bold step cos naija wasn't a joking sturvs as Falz would say.

Got here and it was indeed a diff world, my 1st day was hellish as looking for a place to stay wasn't easy. A cab guy (naija man private cab) walked up to me at the arrival lounge of DXB and said he'd take me to Sharja (One of the Emirates/State where my sponsor told me to go) for 180aed...i looked at my map and checked the distance from the airport to sharja, called my friend but he was asleep as I landed 2am (stayed at Jomo Kenyatta Airport for 23hrs all through a whole day...transit is a b***ch). I declined d cab guy. Ended up paying 50aed and got to behind safeer mall at al Nahda, sharja accompanied by a naija guy I met at MMA...

Was taken to a room where there were 16guys and 5 babes all clogged together like sardines and it was then I thought I had made a mistake coming here.. My liver cut cos I was saddened and discouraged on seeing that. Am like is this how nigerians in the uae live? Is this how I'd live? Tufiaaaa... The guy who brot us there (we met him at the airport said he has a bedspace in sharja so we followed him, silly risk.. But who did we know?). He simply said "guy shift 2 ppl there sleep in their middle, in the morning we'd talk about how you'd pay me 800aed for the space". I just went to their balcony and stayed there till morning... Couldn't sleep. This was around 4 to 5am. Brainstorming and thinking what my options were.

Daybreak I told the guy sorry I can't stay here so he said if I can't stay I shd Park ma bags... He threw my things out lol.. I waka oh... I later got a place i shared with 3 other guys in a room.. Cos me 709aed at 1st then was paying 500 afta 1 mnth..

I started my hustle, going from coy to coy dropping my CVs all about. For two whole months.. Went for many interviews, the one I had hopes for was an Etisalat job an agent told me to pay 1,900aed for. I took the money and went to meet him... I was desperate. He said I'd give him the money, then he'd take me to the link guys house in Ajman (work is supposedly to be in Dubai oo) , then in the morning I and the link wld go to Etisalat building. Lol. I said hell NO... Why don't I come directly to the Etisalat then when I see the HR I'd drop the money after beign employed. The guy started cursing in yoruba that if am not interested I shdnt waste his time. I just boarded the next train and left and held my 1900aed strong.

This went on, open interviews from Jebel Ali to Oud Metha, from Deira to Mall of the Emirates, where my leg no touch? Mehnnn... The last interview I went for was a month left more to my visa kalas. My friend was like let's go somewhere am like am tired, after all ramadan is almost here and am sure people r prepping so no need. He forced me (I owe that dude till date) and we went.. Two Emirati women were the interviewers, we did it and left... Then ramadan started.

Ramadan month is he'll for job seekers here in the uae.... Don't ever come during that period... I stayed home mostly cos coys close at noon, and it's till the next day, HRs are never on sit. So i and ma friend stayed indoors mostly during ramadan sending applications online frantically.. A times we send in 100 to 120 apps a day.. Am not exaggerating, that's the actual figure range, and immediately afta ramadan I had 15days left and visa wld kalas.

Ramadan ended and no job yet... 15days more.. I just said nna na naija sure pass, be like the swear one babe swear for me for nairaland wan happen sha lol (pun intended). My friends visa kalased and he left for naija, anoda friends visa kalased he also left to naija and I escorted them to the airport to familiarize myself with departure tins lol.

I started startegising, I said NO, how can I go back to naija?? What's waiting for me? Nothing... I started making frantic calls, had some savings....called my sponsor and he said I can do same day visa change but I'd go to Oman and come back. I said Oman? He said yes... Muscat international airport. So we started the runz and all was set... I left UAE around mid July, visa was to koalas same day in July.

I got to Sharja Intl Airport... And I was stamped out... That was when I said mehn na wa oh am jo more in the uae o... I sha waited for ma Oman flight. Then I met some naija guys that had been at the airport since 2days their visa wasn't out, and I remembered when paying d visa deposit J saw where it was stated that if after 2days ur new 3 months visa isn't processed you will have to leave for your home Country and reapply... Fear grip me I said nna dis guys don jonze oh, the look on their faces said it all.. I sha faced ma Own cross..

Flight to Oman took an hr.. We ddnt even sit down they called for visa change ppl at Muscat International Airport to move their way... I followed and they ushered us into same plane that brought us to Oman. We boarded.... 15 mind in the air again back to UAE... I really hate flying, my ear de block almost a week...

Got to Sharja Airport and that's where d game started...i said God I de ur hand, give me anoda 3mnths to hustle now ramadan is over it should be better this time. I waited at the airport for 6hrs...then the visa came out... Went to immigration, got stamped in. Then I entered town again...

That I got u was on my laptop for almost 8hrs all night in to the AM... Sending applications like no man biz. Next day came, day after that... Then 5days into my new visa.., the two Emirati women sent me a text that I shd come see them at the office in the morning. I wasnt sure this message was for me So i called. And they said yes e they want to see me.

I sent whatsapp to my guy we both went for the interview if he was called as well, I couldn't reach him (naija matter no lite to charge his fone no data sef). So in the morn I went.

I saw them and we got talking and she said that word every hustler wants to hear, YOU ARE HIRED!!! I was dazed and amazed and shocked. Then she presented me the contract I read, saw the salary ☺ and I signed... Then she said your friend you guys came together is also hired. You guys were the best candidates we interviewed over 100 selected people in UAE..my boss ddnt allow me exit to naija as he felt would be stressful and wasn't happy I did the Oman thing so she applied my work visa while I was in UAE... I for like exit see ma family sha but all join sha.. .

That's how God did it, I wish I got the offer before exiting for the new visa but all join, the cat is in d bag so it's all good.

As i type, I have done my medicals and passed (no Hiv, no hepatitis, no tuberculosis). I have days left for my emirates ID to drop as I have also used my passed medical to apply for that.

I am just like anyone here, am not special, am not Sheikh Maktoums relative, I was just favoured. Not that I go to church often but I believe God and have always put him 1st in all my doings. Anyone can get a job here.

If you believe uae is ur way, show here like tv and hustle... Send ur apps continually, tell people you r looking for a job (not job agents, 99 percent r fake}, be steadfast in praying.. God will come to your aid most definately.

Currently I stay in a room in a flat with my colleague... Just two of us, I de sleep well like pikin fresh for the days job in d morn. And I have sweet working hours and coffee always ready anytime I want lol. God bless this forum I hope my testimony would inspire one or all of us here... Somebody say haleluyahhhhhhhh.....

He said it's used to indicate that the dollar is original and its from them should in case they said its fake outside the country, i can return it. But he assured me, that how he has been doing it for people and they had no issues. But me dey fear ooo. how person go dey inscribe on US dollars. Has anyone encountered such? or whats your view on that?

@op you can use Emirates and transit in Dubai, you don't need a transit visa to transit through Dubai as far as you are not entering Dubai, Hong Kong is a lovely place but very expensive in terms of living cost so pls take enough money, you can get the visa at Chinese embassy but note that you can't enter China with Hong Kong Visa and you can't enter Hong Kong with Chinese visa, they both have their own visas but if you want to go to both places then you can apply for both at once, I left Hong Kong in 2007 so maybe some things must have changed, but note it's a very expensive place

Good day house, in lieu of my post here yesterday, I want to let you know that my sponsor checked their system and it was confirmed that I exited the UAE, how come my passport was not stamped, I can't say, but I will like to advice us all to be very vigilant when we are passing through passport control, cos these people are also humans and they are also bound to make mistakes, they may make mistake stamping your passport but you are cleared in their system, but the issues is when you want to apply for visas for most countries you will need the entry and exit stamp pages of the countries you've been to, to boost your visa application, I never used to check these details, I was actually trying to apply for a different country visa yesterday and needed to scan my stamped pages when I noticed this abnormality, so pls let us always make sure our passports are stamped before we leave the passport control area

use ur entry permit number to check on de edrnd web, it would show d date u exited if not it shows u are still in d country (overstay) or left illegally then serious fine/ban beholds you.

Thanks, I've notified my sponsor in the UAE and he said they will check the system for me, if it is showing overstay then my sponsor would had been notified by now, that is what he said, since they are the ones that do my visa, anyway I have my boarding pass of the day I left, I guess they entered it in the system but just forgot to stamp the passport, I will let you all know when I hear from my sponsor

Check second to the last page, it might not necessarily be on the same page. Am not one of the gurus in the house o but mine was stamped at the last page. I doubt UAE immigration officer will do such mistake.

I've checked every single page, including my old expired passport that was attached to the new one, but it's not there

Hello house, pls I need some information and I will appreciate your contributions, I was in Dubai Dec 2015/ Jan 2016 for a month's stay, I was just going through my passport this morning and noticed that my passport was not stamped exit when I was leaving unlike my previous trips, and I' m supposed to be going back soon, pls what does this mean and will I have any problems with the immigrations? And how can I check that I don't have any issues in their system? I can remember vividly when I was coming back, I did join the queue and submitted my passport and I was cleared and it was returned to me and I was allowed to pass, the passport only has the entry stamp and no exit, thanks
