Interesting Concept. |
Sagamite:Absolutely true!!! Our education system failed a long time ago. Our ability to critically think through issues went with it. We've become a country of the blind. |
can someone actually post how to integrate sms to an application. Who provides the most reliable sms gateway in Nigeria? |
Avis Nigerial. Used them over the Christmas Break. You can google for their website. |

@ekas Thanks. Can you (anyone) give me an idea how much apartments are in Maitama or Asokoro? |
@Abujabooks Can give us an insight as to the cost of houses in these places you mentioned? Also, how do those places compare to Gwarinpa? Thanks for your input. abujabooks: |
Web based applications are typically sold as a service via subscriptions. In most instances, companies are charged an amount per user including setup fees etc. How are web based software priced in Nigeria? Is it subscription based per user, or is it just sold outright with support fees. I will like to chat with Software marketers or consultants or anyone with good knowledge on software sales in Nigeria to give me some insights so I can better price an application I want to offer to financial institutions in Nigeria. Pls contact me via email (in profile). I can also forward links with username/password for individuals interested in sales relationship. |
@brosious I will like to speak with you about reseller opportunity on a web-based solution. Send me an email so I can send you details(Your email is hidden.). Also, let me know if you have any experience selling software solutions to corporate clients. @poster FYI, This is very unrelated to your offerings. |
@sbucareer Thanks. Hope he doesn't get overwhelmed. By the way, I have something I want to discuss with you based on one of your previous post. I will send you an email so as not to hijack this thread. @davidt This is really what you will be needing. Feel free to post any questions you may have. |
You have little information but I will attempt to help: Tables and Data Points will include: Student Table: StudentID FirstName LastName MidName DateAdmitted CourseLevelAtAdmission Course Table CourseId StudentID CourseLevelID CourseName CourseDescription Score1 (e.g. Exam1 score) Score2 (e.g. MidTerm score) Score3 (e.g. Final Exam score) Cummulative Score FinalGrade GPA Table UID StudentID CourseLevelID GPA CourseLevel Table CourseLevelID CourseLevelName CourseLevelDescription This can be an approach to your DB design. Let me know if you need further help. |
Rlst84sale:Sure. The state of Texas charges 300.00 to Incorporate: https://direct.sos.state.tx.us/help/help-corp.asp?pg=fee And an additional $25 for expedited service. My point remains that the cost of Incorporating in Nigeria may be deemed fair. However, lawyers and accountants should offer better transparent services to their incorporating clients. |
While information on incorporating a business is Nigeria is somewhat lacking and confusing, i will have to disagree with the point that the cost is too high. For those making comparisons with the US, the cost of incorporating in the US varies by state. I know it costs atleast $300 for my state of incorporation if you do it yourself. An accountant or lawyer can charge anywhere from $150 to $400 to provide you this service. In the case of Nigeria, we need lawyers and accountants to provide better straightforward information and education on business registration since it is a service they offer. They should offer better transparent services to their incorporating clients and then charge accordingly based on their service level. |
Kpac , are your solutions Web-based or Desktop solutions? |
I was searching for the stock last year but about a month and half ago my brokers jobber gets in touch that he has about 2million units for sale Hmm, Abeg, what is a broker's jobber? |
aktopgun:It may be because of this: Cement: Yar’Adua intervenes, orders massive importation President Umaru Yar’Adua, yesterday described the high cost of cement in the country as unacceptable and ordered the relevant authorities to take immediate action to not only force down the price, but also increase the quantity available for local use. The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chief Charles Ugwu made this known in Abuja when he addressed State House correspondents, saying the president was highly incensed by the development and had taken steps to reverse the trend. As an immediate step, he said the president had directed massive importation of cement at affordable prices for a specified period of time as a way of making the commodity readily available and stabilizing the price. http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2008/feb/26/national-26-02-2008-009.htm |
Kobojunkie:Simple! I don't get why a project has to be killed because something similar is in the works. Folks, concentrate on this project. There are so many things to gain and virtually nothing to loose. Worst case, you gained a great experience and and increased your network of like-minded friends. |
Like the other posters indicated, your data has to be consistent for a join to work. However, inconsistencies are common when it comes to dealing with data. The best solution is to handle each inconsistency programmatically. My suggestion: Use a replace function in the join (replace all st. to street and all rd to road) replace([addressfield],'rd','road') and do the same for str. Let me know if you need more help on this. Also, what kind of DB are you using? |
Sick, Sick, Sick!!!!!!!!!!! My daddy this, My mummy this. I can't believe what I am reading here. People have no regards for others. All ye Saints. @Romeo That's the truth. Maybe they should just kill the "Maid". Poster is a sicko! |
The great Novel "Passport of Mallam Illia" by Cyprian Ekwensi. I think if properly directed and portrayed by a cast of both Nigerian and International actors, it can be a cannes festival film winner. |
Take a leave or vacation time, travel to the US and get ur necessary documents ie get a Drivers Licence (if u want), open a bank account, apply for a Social Security Number, and most importantly wait for your Green card to arrive. The longest wait is the green card which takes about 6wks or so. Once you get that, you can go on back home. To keep your Immigrant status, you just have to visit every year (pls double check on the frequency and required lenght of stay). It isn't that difficult. Let me know if you have any questions. |
Hello louieK, I have an interest. Send me your proposal as well. My email is in my profile. Thanks. |
What exactly is a mini-flat as opposed to a flat? Also, how many years upfront do you have to pay and is this rate negotiable? |

Isn't it obvious by now that what we need are younger technocrats to move our country forward ? During OBJ's first term, the bulk of the folks of his cabinet were the oldies - Danjuma, Ali Chiroma, & co. During his second term, he appointed people like Okonjo-Iweala, Oby Ezekwesili, El-rufai & co. We all know how much the younger technocrats have contributed to our country within the 2003 - 2007 period. Rather than appointing the likes of Kingibe, Yar 'Adua should take a cue from the accomplishments of OBJ's second term appointees so we can move this country forward. This post says it all. Do away with the past visonless leaders and inject some fresh blood with ideas and visions. Could it be any simpler ![]() ![]() ![]() |

from sunnewsonline.com A young Nigerian, Husainin Solomon, has risen up to the challenge to satisfy quest of the mobile telecommunications operators’ quest for cheap oil in the country by producing bio fuel as a cheap and green alternative fuel to power base stations. The pilot scheme is being funded by the GSM Association Development Fund, Ericsson, together with MTN Nigeria. Olabode Sowumi, head of Corporate and Marketing Communications of Ericsson, West and East Africa, explained how the bio-diesel process works. "The bio diesel is produced from crops that are rich in oil like groundnut, soya bean, palm oil and so on. A local entrepreneur can buy excess of the crops from farmers and convert the biomass into bio diesels, using special processing plant. The bio diesel is then sold to the telecommunications operator." Behold! Sustaining Solomon has emerged as the first local entrepreneur to buy into the idea of bio fuel and invest his time and money in the business. Convinced of the value propositions of the idea, Solomon approached Diamond Bank Plc, and the bank promptly invested a whopping N20 million in the idea, under its Bright Idea initiative. Solomon, who spoke with Daily Sun in an exclusive interview, argued that the bio fuel idea can help solve the hydra-headed issues of power supply in the country. I'm wondering what happened to shopforless.com. Did they close up shop since their website seems to be shut down? |
