Most xtians usually attend one program or the other on the day of xmas so they may not necessarily wear new clothes then but if people dont wear new clothes on the first day of the year...some may cry all day...but i actually dont know what's so special about First of January

This often baffles me now that i'm a bit mature. Anytime a new year is approaching when i was still much more younger i usually cry for new year clothes whenever my parents threaten to deny me. My dad will always give me a task whenever we resume for new session in school of which i have to do if i'm to wear new year clothes but now it has become a must do thing for both young and old people.
Does it really worth it?...whatcha say to this?
