Report reaching Bailout Magazine is that Delta State Police Command have arrested one suspected kidnapper, neutralize two just as they rescued the victim and recovered two –locally-made guns in Delta Communities. In a statement signed by the Delta State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe said on the 18th January 2023, at about 1800hrs, the dragon patrol teams 19 and 20 were on stop and search along Ughelli/Patani Expressway by Quest FM. The statement said, while there, they were informed that the vehicle of man earlier kidnapped in the day was seen at Ohoro Community saying, the Police quickly mobilized to the area to rescue victim in a view to arresting the suspects.


The statement said, the Police together with active support from the members of the community, were able to trail the suspects to Patani Road and that, when the hoodlums saw that the police were closing on them, drove recklessly and involved in an accident. The statement added that, the Police quickly intercepted the car in their attempt to flee the scene and arrested one of the suspects called Lucky Owofasa “m” aged 28 years of Ewu Community in Ughelli North LGA while others escaped. The statement said items recovered from the suspect are a cut-to-size-locally-made gun and three (03) live cartridges.

Top echelon in the Niger Delta struggle have called on the Presidency to prevail on security agencies to stop further harassment of Mr. Godwin Emefiele over unsubstantiated allegations.


The leaders also frowned at the perceived ill-treatment being melted on Emefiele, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, adding that security agents should discontinue any plan to arrest Emefiele.

It would always be on the Newspapers, Magazines, Radio and Television News, how houses get burnt in Nigeria nay Delta State, Warri and its environs in occasional basis but more frequently, during the festive seasons such as Christmas and New Year. If other years are forgotten, one can not forget in hurry the houses that were raised down by fire during the yuletide- Christmas 2022 and the month of January, 2023 in Warri and its environs. The areas mostly affected are Iyara, Odion, Ajamimogha and Karien, to mention but few – all in Warri South Local Government Area of the state.


In these, many families were and are still being rendered homeless and properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed. No doubt, the people affected by these fires cried for help from Nigerians both from home and Diaspora: Individuals, Corporate Bodies or Government at the different levels, still using the same media. What they wanted was some cash to enable them fix their accommodations and purchase some clothing materials as many of them were left with nothing but what they were wearing before inferno started.

It is no news that after the celebration of the Christmas (2022) and now in the New Year (2023), Pupils/Students are set to return to school. The question is: how prepared are the pupils/students, the parents, the school authority, the government and other stakeholders in the education industry to ensure they (pupils/ students) are well taught and unitize the knowledge acquired for the advance of their lives, and the society at large?


Today’s education systems have not helped in any way. Though, the Government has its policies on education, but the challenges of curriculum development on education policies at different levels have not helped to a large extent. It is pertinent to say that the system of education in Nigeria prior independence and after independence has taken a different dimension. Research has shown that, to a large extent, Nigeria system of education has fallen. This is largely due to many factors. Prior to the Nigeria’s independence in 1960, Nigeria operated the 6-5-2 system. That is, six (6) years of primary education, five (5 )years of secondary and 2 years of Higher Level / A Levels system to mirror the British’s system.

The Delta State Police Command has rescued a kidnapped victim while one suspected kidnapper lost his life in the hospital in a bid to be treated of the injury he sustained during a gun duel between the Police and the kidnappers.

As part of efforts to be committed and ensure All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the forthcoming general elections, All Progressive Congress(APC) Orogun Ward 2, Ughelli North LGA, Delta State, had over the weekend held a meeting of the party across the six (6) units in Aragba-Orogun Ughelli North LGA to re-strategise on the way forward.



Addressing the members of the party, the Chairman of the party, Chief Gabriel Orogun hinted that the meeting was convened for them to be united and work together in order to win the election come 2023.

As the electioneering campaign for the 2023 general elections in the country gather momentum, the national leader of ‘Team Duke Atiku/Okowa, Comrade Duke Onokoasa woos Deltans to come out en-masse to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards(PVC) and vote all People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidates in 2023 election.

Comrade Onokposa made the call in Warri, the economic nerve of Delta State while addressing the mammoth supporters of PDP during the party ward-to-ward campaign.

The Isoko Development Union(IDU), the Isoko Nation’s highest socio-cultural organization has endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Delta South Senatorial District, Hon. Joel-Onowakpo Thomas as the candidate to vote for in 2023 general elections.


The President of IDU, Prof Christopher Akpotu led the endorsement ceremony on behalf of the Union’s Executive, Isoko Traditional Rulers Council, all Clan President Generals, Isoko Branches Council (IBC), Clergymen and all Isoko people at the Annual General Conference of IDU, held at Isoko House, Oleh, Headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
