It was a day of jubilation and fun-fare as Ighogbadu Secondary School, Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area Delta State organized her 3rd Inter-House sports competition. The programme which took place in the school premises was unique in its perspective.


Speaking at the occasion, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Ajayi Edirin said sports are very important for humanity of which students form a part as they form good exercises. She said, involving students in sports is part of psychomotor domain just as she said; they can help to discover students’ talents which can be harnessed for the students do well in life after leaving secondary school. She said:” Sporting activities are integral part of humanity because all of us need exercises because they help to prolong life”.

The Leader ,”Team Magamu 4 Sheriff/Jite Brown 2023″ in Udu LGA , Chief Frank Muwhen (aka) Magamu has felicitated with the Delta State Governor-Elect, Rt Hon. In his tribute to his late father, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, expressed thanks to Almighty God and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ for the kind of life the father led while he was alive. According to him, his father was a humble, peaceful and man who made friends with both the young and the old just as he said, the father was industrious hence he ventured into many businesses and had breakthroughs. It is often said, for every rumour, there is an element of truth. At first, it was a rumour that the Delta State Government may ban the sales of commercial tricycle (Keke) ticket and all forms of illegal collections on the roads across the state by sales agents and touts(Agberos) and a few days later, it filtered into the air that it has actually been announced by the Delta State Government led by Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa that the sales of the ticket in whatever form has been banned.


Against this background, Bailout Magazine went into investigations so as to unraveled the rationale behind government’s decision in less than two months of this political dispensation to wind up. A cross section of Deltans who spoke to our Correspondent said, the decision was taken by the state government to tell Deltans that the government of the Governor- Elect, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is not to be associated with the activities of touts(Agberos).

According to some, it was rather too late a decision saying, the state government should have done this years ago, not this dying minutes as the impact will not be felt since many of the commercial tricycles riders have suffered so much in the hands of tickets task force who are on the roads.

A candidate on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Hon. Whisky E. Ewubareh has lauded the victory of the Governor Elect, Rt. Hon. The Leader of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ofuoma Town, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, Olorogun Theo Mukoro has delivered his polling unit with a wide margin to the Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in the Saturday Governorship election.


Mukoro’s polling unit 035, ward 2/6, in Ofuoma Town, the APC polled 353 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic Party which scored 192 votes.

Also, in the State Assembly election, the APC polled 327 votes and while the PDP scored 217 votes.

Mukoro, the Ughelli North Coordinator, Tinubu, Chief Ede Dafinone and Ovie Omo-Agege Governorship Campaign Council, thanked the people of Ofuoma in polling units 035 for voting en-masse for the APC and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The much awaited day has come finally today, being the 18th March, 2023. This, after the election day was postponed from the 11th March by the National Independent Commission(INEC) on the ground that, among other reasons, it needed time to reconfigure the BIVAS in preparations for the election after it has been used for Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) Delta State chapter has appealed to Deltans to embrace peace in the Governorship election fixed on 18th March, this year.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested one suspected armed robber, recovered three- locally -made guns, cartridges, suspected stolen tricycle just as it arrested a suspected fake military personal and recovered a military uniform in Delta Community.


In a press release signed by the Delta State Police Command Image Maker, DSP Bright Edafe and made available to newsmen said on the 12th March,2023 at about 0900hrs, operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad, while on intensive Aberdeen system of patrol, sighted a tricycle with reg. no. RRU 773 QK conveying three male occupants.

The statement said, they were intercepted and subjected to a search during which a bag containing rice was thoroughly searched to see that three (3) locally- made- guns, one- live cartridge, were concealed in the bag of rice. The statement said, it was then two of the suspects took to their heels and escaped into the bush, abandoning the tricycle, and the rider named Ahmed Umaru “m” 26yrs of Ayingba LGA Kogi State was arrested, and the exhibit recovered. The statement said, efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects are ongoing.

Contrary to the rumours making the rounds that the Deputy Senate President and Delta State Governorship Candidate on the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC), Senator Ovie Omo- Agege plans to reverse the teachers’ retirement age of 65 years which is backed by law and since been implemented by the federal government when he(Ovie Omo –Agege) becomes the Governor of the state is not true.

Following the rumours in some quarters that High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, did a video to have hailed the outcome of the Presidential election which was concluded on the 25th February, 2023, which has trended in some online media, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo has said, there is nothing as such.


In a press statement signed by his media consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo and made available to newsmen said, there is no truth in such reportage. According to the statement, High Chief Tompolo did not say anything on the outcome of the election neither he did any video to that effect. The statement added that High Chief Tompolo is not an enemy to any of the Presidential candidates neither the Governorship candidates for the elections saying, he is a friend to all. The statement therefore called on all and sundry to disregard such reports.

Part of the statement reads:”The attention of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo has been drawn to an alleged viral video on the 2023 general election, where some online media quoted him to have hailed the outcome of the election. For the avoidance of doubt, Tompolo did not do any video of sort. Tompolo has not said anything on the outcome of the Presidential election. Delta South Senatorial District -Elect, Hon. Joel Onowakpo Thomas has urged Deltans to vote massively for the candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Governorship and House Assembly elections which have been rescheduled to take place 18th March, 2023.

The Governorship and House of Assembly elections earlier scheduled to take place on the 11th March, 2023 has been rescheduled to take place on the 18th March, 2023. In a press release signed by the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee , Barr. Festus Okoye and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, said, after the ruling by the Presidential Election Tribunal (EPT) on the reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) used for the Presidential election held on the 25th February 2023, the Commission met to look at the impact of the Commission’s readiness for the Governorship and State Houses Assembly elections earlier scheduled for Saturday,11th March,2023.


According to him, since lack of a clearly defined timeframe for the inspection of the BVAS could disrupt the Commission’s ability to conduct the election saying, that the BVAS could be activated on the specific date and time of the election. He said, since the BVAS had earlier been used for both elections, it is necessary for it to be reconfigured and activated for effective elections to take place.

Reports reaching Bailout Magazine say the Delta State Police Command have neutralized one suspected kidnapper just as the kidnapped victim rescued and one cut-to size gun was recovered. In a press statement signed by the Delta Police Command lmage Maker, DSP Bright Edafe , Asaba, Delta State, and made available to newsmen, said on the 6th March 2023 at about 0015hrs, the DPO Ozoro Division received a distress call that one man (name withheld) was kidnapped and is being conveyed in his Toyota Corolla car and that the kidnappers were along Akiweh Express heading towards Ozoro town.


The statement added that the DPO Ozoro Division, CSP Ogedengbe Areguamen, swiftly mobilized and led a combined team of Police and vigilantes from Ozoro and Akiweh Communities saying, they created a partial hold up on the road and conducted intensive stop and search adding, they were able to sight the said Toyota Corolla car.

Barely three days to 2023 Governorship elections in the country, over 9000 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members cut across the 25 local government areas of the state under the auspices of Delta Youth Decide have dumped the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) to All Progressives Congress(APC)just as they have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Senator Ovie Omo- Agege to be the Governor of Delta State in the next political dispensation.


The body made this known in press conference held on Wednesday in Udu in Udu Local Government Area of the state. In his address to endorse the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo -Agege as the incoming Governor of the state in the next political dispensation, the President of the group, Comrade Ikimi Efekoha said, the group have chosen Senator Ovie Omo- Agege as the candidate that everyone should vote for as he is the best and most qualified candidate to govern the state.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, has lauded the efforts of officers and men of Nigeria Police Force for their brilliant performances in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections across the country. The Police Boss gave this commendation when he held a meeting recently with four (4) Strategic Police Managers comprising Deputy Inspectors-General of Police and members of the Force Management Team, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, Commissioners of Police, and heads of tactical investigative and operational units of the Force at the Goodluck Jonathan’s Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, based on the officers posted for elections security management duties.
