College of Commerce Old Students Association, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area , Delta State has donated sporting equipment to enhance sporting activities in the school. Among the equipment donated are high jump , volley ball and table tennis court .


Speaking at the occasion, the National President of the body, Enijuni Kolawale Victor said the body is poised to promote sporting activities in the school. According to him, the school is recognized for sporting activities as the institution has won several awards / prizes for excellent performances in sporting competitions in Delta State and beyond . He said, apart from the sporting equipment, the body has done several projects in the school.

According to him, the body has earlier donated challenge cup to the school- all to encourage and see that, they (students ) perform well sports wise in the school just as he said, the body would continue to do their best in this regard.

Chief Otunumeruke stated this in his congratulatory message to the Governor recently. According to him, with the support of Deltans, the administration of the state would surpass that his predecessor in the terms of achievements.

According to him, they should work as a team in promoting the activities of the state government. He therefore solicited the cooperation of everybody in the unit towards giving adequate publicity to the policies and programmes of the state government led by Rt. Hon. Link roads such as Aba Owerri Road , PortHarcourt Road in Aba, Faulks Road in Aba, Obohia Road in Aba and Ngwa Road all in Aba should be cleaned up and good / quality road constructed with beautiful flowers and CCTV that is, surveillance cameras should be installed in these roads to check / monitor crimes, same should be replicated in some important roads if not all at the capital city of Umuahia.

Deltans have decried the slow pace of the construction of convert work that is ongoing along Airport Road by Edjaba Junction and Okere Road Warri in Warri South Local Government Area of the state, saying, this has caused a lot accidents, apart from the hardships on the people because of traffic jam. Many of the respondents expressed their worry in an interview with Bailout Magazine over the delay of the projects.


According to them, they wonder what would cause a delay to such projects which ordinarily would not take more than a month before completion considering the importance of the roads for users. A lady who identified herself as Ameachi said, she wondered why the construction of convert along airport road would take almost three to four months saying, that has caused untold hardships on the part of the tricyclists and motorists.

Governor Okowa stated when he commissioned the lodge recently. Governor Okowa commended Dr. Tidi for putting up the beautiful edifice, the first ever in Warri South Local Government Area and therefore urged other council Chairmen to emulate Tidi’s footpath in this direction.


He said: “I want to thank you for leaving a legacy behind because, when you have a good lodge for the Council Chairman, they will actually stay in the council. I know that you have only a few months more in this place, but the important thing is that, you are leaving behind a lodge that other Chairman can truly occupy”.

He said, the establishment of a local government Chairman’s Lodge is a very important edifice that every council area should have because, he believes that, every Chairman should have a lodge. Governor Okowa added that, if all local government areas in the state have a Chairman’s Lodge, all the Chairmen will be living in their local government areas with their people.

According to him, he has the belief that the best Chairman is the one who can give listening ears to his people as he was opportune to be an elected local government Chairman in the past just as he said, he has given instructions to all the Council Chairmen in the state to be accessible to their people at all times especially from Mondays to Fridays.

The Oil rich Ugborodo Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State have staged a protest against Chevron Nigeria Limited as they condemned the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA insisting that, the oil giant company must dialogue with them as regards PIA.


The Community led by the Eghare-Aja of the Ugborodo, Mr. Daniel Uwawah made their position known in a protest recently. The peaceful protesters who are from Ode-Ugborodo, Ogidigben, Ajudaibo, Madangho and Ijaghala Communities under Ugborodo Federated Communities besieged Chevron yard within their domain.

The protesters who carried placards with different inscriptions: “We want our PIA as Host Communities. Ugborodo”,”All Local Content Contracts must be brought to the Community through the appointed organ”,”Enough of Chevron divide and rule policies” among others, said they would not accept this cheating from Chevron Nigeria Limited.

Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Isaiah Bozimo Esq, has expressed appreciations to members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in the state for their supportive roles to the State Government in the area of enhancing justice delivery.

Bozimo stated this in Asaba during a workshop organised for stakeholders including Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The Commissioner stated that he has received cooperation from the previous executives of NBA across all their branches in the state, especially Asaba and Effurun branches and urged the present executive members of the branches to sustain the support to Ministry of Justice.

Olorogun Jacob Djedjomahor said the ascension of the position of Ohworode of Olomu is not by birth as every son of the kingdom can ascend the throne. Olorogun Djedjomahor stated this today Wednesday, when he led Oghoro Ruling House to pay homage to the departed Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM.(Dr.) Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Ogho I JP. who recently joined his ancestors at the age of 106years, the homage which forms part of activities marking the burial ceremony of the Monarch.


He said: “Our Succession is not by birth. Every son of Olomu has the right to lead and ascend the throne. It’s not one family affair..”.

He said, Olomu Kingdom is made up of three ruling houses, saying the passage of the revered Monarch is not the end of Olomu Kingdom. According to him, the Otota who is the traditional Prime Minister and Spokesperson of the Kingdom will ascend the throne as the Ohworode at the due time.

Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo has reiterated the determination of the State Government to always interface and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the custodial elements of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law are correctly implemented in the state.


Mr. Bozimo stated this in his office in Asaba when the newly posted Controller of Corrections Centre, Delta State Command, Mr. Babafemi Jaiyeoba paid him a courtesy call .

He said that the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022 had introduced several reforms and measures to ensure that the efficient conduct of the trials regarding criminal justice sector.

Mr. Bozimo stated that the administration of criminal justice law had made it possible for the decongestion of the custodial centres across the state, adding,that it was the reason there was significant emphasis on reforming the administration of criminal justice law.
