The Delta State Governor and Vice Presidential candidate on the platform of PDP Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the candidate for Delta South Senatorial District on the platform of Nigerians People’s Party (NNPP) Commodore Omatseye Nesiama(rtd) have hailed Nigerians for peaceful elections. The duo who spoke at separate interviews after casting their votes in Egboma Primary School Ward 2, Unit 17 in Ika North East Local Government Area and Unit 3 ward 5 in Warri South Local Government Area respectively of Delta State said, Nigerians tried to have come in en-masse to cast their votes. Speaking specifically, Governor Okowa said, he is sure that the People’s Democratic Party will come out victorious in the election.


He said: “We are very sure that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP ) will win this election, we have done all the work needed to be done and we have spoken to Nigerians, we are truthful, we are not like others. PDP is a prepared team, a prepared party and we are ready to take charge over the affairs of Nigeria”

The Delta Central Senatorial candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Hon. Chief Solomon Edojah has promised to give meaningful infrastructural development and better welfare packages for the people of Delta Central if voted to the Senate in the 2023 election.


Hon. Edojah gave this assurance during his campaign visit to both Otor-Ogor and Evwreni kingdoms in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. A former Secretary for Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade (Chief), Ovuozourie Macaulay , other prominent Deltans and five companies have been told they needed to be honoured for serving the country meritoriously as they were honoured at the 12th edition of the Annual Independent Awards.


Macaulay was bestowed with the State Public Servant of the Year Award along with others in the event which was held over the weekend at the prestigious Convention Centre of Eko Hotel & Suit, Lagos which was chaired by Prof Samuel Aghalino.

In a his speech after receiving the award, Comrade Macaulay said he dedicated the award to the masses and the entire Deltans he served over the years adding, as the award came to him as a surprise.

The Sarkin Hausawa of Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, Comrade Mohammed Kaliel Dan-kigo said, he remains the authentic Sarkin Hausawa saying, he was duly installed into the exalted position by the Chairman of Arewa Traditional Council , Delta State, Alhaji Ibrahim Babagero who has the legal right to do so. Comrade Dan-kigo made this clarification over the weekend when speaking to newsmen in Warri, Delta State.


Dan-kigo who said he was installed on the 29th January, 2023 said, this clarification became necessary as information reaching his office is that, one Abubukar Haruna who is not even an Hausa man was purportedly installed as Sarkin Hausawa of Udu in Udu Local Government Area by one Immam called Malam Sani.

It is no longer news that three banks namely Union, First, and Access in Udu in Udu Local Government Area of the state have been vandalized by hoodlums on Wednesday, 15th February 2023. The reason for this is not unconnected with the challenges Nigerians are facing at present due to the redesign of new naira note which many customers of the banks are unable to get access to. This situation has made many of the customers gather at the front of the banks each passing day wanting to do one transaction or the other but to no avail as banks always give one excuse or the other to customers outside the banks gates.


No doubt, the burning of the banks has scared many of the other banks to open for customers for operation as they don’t want to be a victim of circumstances. While there are different versions as to why the hoodlums took laws in their hands, which actually sparked this vandalisation of the banks, many Nigerians have reacted this situation in different ways.

A socio-political pressure group under the auspices of Midwestern have called on the region to vote en-masse to Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta State Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate on the platform of People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming elections.

A count down to 2023 general elections, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Police Command, CP Ari Muhmmed Ali FCIA,PSC+ said the Police are much ready to create a peaceful environment for the conduct of the 2023 general elections slated to take place on February 25 and March 11 this year. In press statement signed by the Delta State Police Command Image Maker, DSP Bright Edafe said the Commissioner made this known at a day’s workshop organized by the Command for Election Security Monitoring Committee which made up of political parties representatives, civil society groups, media practitioners and members of the public in Warri.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Delta State, Rev. Dr. Monday Udoh Tom said, the body is fully set for the elections as all logistics have been put in place. Rev. Rev. Dr.Tom said, election is not a do-or- die affair, urging all Deltans to go about the elections peacefully. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Dr. Duke Okoro as the pioneer Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.


The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, was initiated by Deputy President of Senate, His Excellency, Ovie Omo-Agege, and passed into law by the National Assembly and subsequently assented by President Buhari, Commander -in- Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, recovered two AK 47 riffles and 27 rounds of 7.62 of ammunition. In a press statement by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe said, on the 26th January, 2023,the Divisional Police Officer, Ovwian Aladja received information that two members of dreaded armed robbers/kidnapping gang were sighted at a club in Udu LGA. Based on this information, the DPO Aliyu Shaba swiftly mobilized and led police operatives to the club saying in the process, one of the suspects was arrested.


The statement added, the suspect has confessed to be a member of an armed robbery/kidnapping gang and then led the police to their hide out in Udu where the Police operatives were engaged in a serious gun duel by his gang members and in the process, one of the suspects was neutralized by the operatives.

A count down to 2023 general elections, many Nigerians who are yet to be given their Permanent Voter’s Card have called on the Federal Government and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to disenfranchise them but provide their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate on this year’s general elections. They made this call over the weekend in separate interviews with Bailout Magazine at INEC’s liaison Office, Esisi Road, Warri , Warri South LGA Delta State.


Among those who spoke include Aaron Rebecca. She said, she has been coming to INEC’s Office at Esisi Road since December,2022 and was told to come 2nd week of January 2023, saying, each time she came, she was always given one excuse or the other for her not to get her PVC. The lady who said she is in unit 9 Igbudu Ward in Warri South LGA said, she did not know what to do as she really needs the PVC to enable her cast her vote in this year’s general elections.

Report reaching Bailout Magazine says the Delta State Police Command said it is not the Police that was responsible for the shooting of Dr. Adja Harrison as reported in many TV stations and online platforms. In a press statement signed by the Delta State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe said Dr. Adja Harrison said on the 24th January 2023, reported that he had an encounter with a VIP convoy in Agbor ,wherein one of the security personnel shot at his vehicle saying, the VIP is unknown as well as the identity of the security man that shot. The statement added that the registration number given by the Doctor showed that it was a privately registered vehicle and not a Police vehicle.

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has given 7 days ultimatum to the Delta State Government to liaise with relevant shareholders in Petroleum industry and reverse the Price of Petroleum Products which is now sold between N375 to N450 per litre and move to it its original price of N165 Per litre or face the mass protest of the body across the state.


The body handed down this order through the Chairman of CDHR Delta State branch, Comrade Jonathan Giama in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in his office in Warri ,Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State. According to him, before now, the price of the products was N165 per litre as approved by the Senate through the Petroleum Regulatory Agency to Independent Petroleum Marketers. He said, over three months now, the price of petroleum products has gradually risen to between N375 and N450 saying, neither the state nor the Regulatory Agency is saying anything. He said, this situation has led to high cost of transportation which eventually in turn led to high price of goods and services which has put the Deltans into untold hardships.

The Delta State Police Command have arrested suspected cultist, four- man- fraud syndicate and alleged Aro Bagger Cult group in Delta Communities. In a press statement signed by Delta State Police Command spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe said sequel to the cult clashes in Sapele, Oghara and some other parts of the state, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State CP Ari Muhammed Alli FCIA,psc+ deployed tactical teams to Sapele LGA to restore sanity in the affected areas.


Against this background, on the 23rd January 2023 at about 2000 hours, acting on credible intelligence, an alleged suspected financier and renowned member of Aro Bagger known as Chief Joseph Ologbo “m” 37 years of Otor Community in Sapele LGA was arrested by a combined team of the Command Special Anti-cult Unit(SACU) Operatives of the Department of the State Services(DSS) and men of Operation Delta Hawk. The statement added that when search was carried out in his tinted Toyota Tundra Van, one unlicensed pump action gun, two live cartridges, one expended cartridge and an Aro Bagger cult regalia were recovered adding, the suspect has made useful statements and soon would be charged to court when the investigations are completed.

All Progressives Congress APC’ founding member in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon. ( Dr.) Benjamin Essien Okiemute, has said the defection of former Delta State Secretary of All Progressives Congress APC, Nick Ovuakporie from the party to the Peoples Democratic Party is inconsequential on APC in Isoko Nation as that can not deter the victory of the party at the polls come February this year


In a press statement issued on Wednesday in Warri by Dr. Okiemute, a former member, Delta State House of Assembly said, Nick Ovuakporie was among major beneficiaries of APC led government since its inception contrary to his reasons for leaving the APC to join new found Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain and a top leader of Ijaw ethnic Nationality, High Chief Michael Johnny has said only the Isoko ethnic group that have been marginalized saying, it is time for all to support them to produce the next Senator to represent Delta South Senatorial District.


Chief Johnny stated this over the weekend while addressing the people of Ogbinbiri, Ogbudugbudu, Tsekelewu, Opuama, Gbokoda, Ebrohimi and Eghoro in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State at the campaign rally for Hon. Joel -Onowakpo Thomas, a candidate for Delta South Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).

As the 2023 general elections draw closer, the candidate for Delta South Senatorial Districts on the platform of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Commodore Omaseye Nesiama (rtd) said he has no godfather neither financier but ready to be accountable to the people if voted for in this year’s elections.


Commodore Nesiama(rtd) stated this when he paid a consultative visit to Igbudu Market Traders Association,(IMTA) to seek their votes in the forth coming elections. Commodore Nesiama(rtd) who is fondly referred to as the “Commodore of Hope” promised to be accountable to the traders and the entire people of Delta South Senatorial District just as he said, the people would form his structure if voted into office as the next Senator.

The Senior Pastor, Victory Revival Fasting and Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe said he gave thanks to God, his creator for vindicating him for the court to have discharged and acquitted him for the allegation of rape preferred against him by a member of the church and her daughter, Miracle Omalor.


Pastor Oronigbe stated in press briefing over the weekend in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area Delta State. According to him, trouble started on the 20th May 2020 after the church’s midweek service when a member of his church requested to see him and he granted her audience.
