Saddamochieng00: You didn't get my point right. For the African case many mineral countries have developed themselves. The likes of Algeria and Morocco. Didn't they have bigger issues than Nigeria. How comes with less resources than Naija they were still able to beat you guys.
Is there any other non mineral driven economy that has done much better than Kenya.
Algeria and Morrocco has done well but they are not far off from the rest of Africa...the rest of Africa resourcesless countries are absolute shiithole so it is easier for Kenya to lead the PAck..
Austine1213: Trade between nigeria and benin is happen through legal means
Nigeria strengthning its borders was good, no cheap imports from china via benin, no illegal goodsin ro the country andand also when there are strict borders even milatants groups boko haram /el shabab cannot expand freely
Africa free trade is not a boderless africa, but its similar to southen african customs union on a grander scale
They do that get it and I don't care...that singular action that we took has saved us a lot of industry and created jobs for the masses with value..
misky2000: Eko Atlantic City marina is finally taking shape, this is just wow. I just love e the design. At the side you can see the Azuri towers, it nearing completion
This place looks stunning...it's looks like something I have never seen in africa...
Saddamochieng00: You know you guys have the upperhand right. You had enough mineral and natural resources to develop yourselves.
Kenya on the other hand had very little mineral and natural resource. We had a lot of issues to take care of post independence but we lacked the resources to do so.
Right now are we not the biggest non mineral driven economy in Africa. We've set the pace for other non mineral economies. We may not be on Singapore level but for an African nation we've done well for ourselves.
Compared to your fellow mineral driven economies Ghana and Naija seem like a joke. Why aren't you leading the pack of mineral driven economies.
Nigeria had it issues bacK to back post independence..the Biafra war amongst others... No mineral is not an excuse, you are still undeveloped like the rest of Africa...Japan,south Korea, Singapore are just as resourcesless as you are but they carved an economic path to prosperity and they are better than most resourceful countries in Asia, Europe, south America E.t.c....
rvp20182: Ruaka and Kiambu metro are cheaper than Nairobi. Westland, upperhill, name them - an acre will set you for 4-5M dollars. That is like 1.5B Naira. Nairobi is not for poor people like you.
When you see people build skyscrappers - it cost land is damn expensive - you can only have ROI by building vertically
Learn boy, learn...once again expensive land propyis nothing to be proud of..the fact that 91% of Kenyans are home renters should tell you how stupid your overly priced land has made the lives of ordinary kenyans miserable..no wonder it is a political tool for Kenyan politicians jostling and hoarding lands to themselves for their own enrichment....does Kenyatta, sinking and other drug crew ring a bell....those that lives in pricy nairobi are expats not middle class Kenyans and they make up about 2%..the rest enjoy either their slum or their cow muddy-hut villages... Lands in Kenya are probably the most expensive on planet earth yet the can't compete with Neighbourhoods around Africa leave alone outside the continent....one would think with all that pricy land y'all will develop heaven on earth yet you are still a shiithole boasting of pricy lands.. mediocre! Mediocre!! Mediocre!!!
Abohboy: For the largest airport in Africa with 32 berths, building a four lane road is just stupid, if it as big as you are bragging about then you will need a 8-12 lane road, along with four lanes of railway to keep operations smooth
They need like 12 lane superhighway..that's what ibom and bakkasi seaport is doing......2 lane road is a sick baby step joke.... They will also need to connect it to a rail .
Saddamochieng00: For Kenya we've done quite good for ourselves. Are we not the Sixth biggest economy in Africa.
Have we not done far much better than many mineral driven economies.
You get it do you...y'all keep saying Nigeria is like the Saudi Arabia of Africa oil s d SA is like Saudi Arabia in term of gold mining... Now here is my point ..Kenya is like the Japan and Singapore of Africa's resourcesless...so if you think Kenya is doing well for herself them we mineral couniare doing well as well..
rvp20182: Those guys are richer than most Nigerians you ever know. You know in Ruaka - an acre of land is more than 1M dollars. So basically those folks sell one point of an acre (50 by 100 feet plot) - each for 30m - and they use it to build an apartment - and keep their cows and their land for future even crazier appreciation.
Check land prices here
One acre of that rural land - boss - is 1.2m dollars. Those people have maybe 2-3 acres. Each kiambu resident is a millionaire if they want...and so are others in Nairobi metro.
Look pricy plot of land is no a thing to be proud of ...$1m should give you about 420m naira..now a single plot of land in ikoyi is about 400-450m... Those living in the pricy areas of kiambiu are like 0.5% of kiambiu's population which is 90% expats like Nigetians and British..the rest 99.5% lives in their poverty village huts with thatched roofs and muddy walls...
Saddamochieng00: Yes those two West African countries are truly cursed and I don't see the situation getting better anytime soon.
Unlike Tanzanians we Kenyans wish well for our brothers. That's why I' ll be delighted to hear that Ethiopia is getting her shit right. It always pain me when I hear of my fellow African brothers dying in containers trying to reach foreign land.
On the other hand anytime Kenya is attacked by Alshabaab wabongo are quick to celebrate. This is one of the reason why those mofos will never get anywhere.
Lol those two west African countries are cursed...I am still trying to wrap my head around why Kenya is yet to be Singapore or Japan..
rvp20182: Well said. Nigeria and Ghana are biggest disappointment because they have gold and oil. South Africa did well when they were the Saudi Arabia of minerals but know they are . fu..cked.
Tanzania will never get anywhere as long as they are obsessed with being better than Kenya.
Ethiopia is opening up - the trucks at Moyale are building up.
All those countries listed will be er get there but Kenya will get there and rule....
I know you won't get common sarcasm, it usually eludes you....
rvp20182: Runda is Nairobi. No Runda resident will ever find himself in Ruaka. Runda is part of the larger westland district. Runda have probably some highest mall per capita...close to Two Rivers, Riviera, Village Market, Ciara, name it.
Ruaka is Kiambu - Nairobi Metro.
Ruaka is coming up very fast - just like other Nairobi metro.
rvp20182: LOL; The sour grapes are becoming bitter.
Nope I am just giving you fact... Is runda not under ruaka town...true or false.. Have you seen how Ruaka town looks like ...like one big poverty village with suffering farmers..
mtisTheQubit: There is more to mombasa than diani...diani is in south coast...but have beautiful north coast..likes of Nyali an Bamburi ..just google Nyali beach
Lol test me you do the want to even get me started in Nyali which is apparently the best neighbourhood in Mombasa...one video on Nyali and you will hate me forever
rvp20182: What you count as Tanzania - industries, banking, tourism, name any sector - are mostly kenyan owned. They only have Assam . Kenya is manufacturing, financial and name it behemoth of East Africa. No question about that. You can start asking questions on Ethiopia - we are moving there big time. South Sudan, Congo, Zambia and such.
Kenya manufacturing companies are ones calling shot in Tanzania - all the way to Nigeria and Ghana.
We only fear South Africa and Egypt.
Call the shot in Rwanda before you ever think if Nigeria or Ghana.....cos apparently it's the other way round.... He said Kenya feeds east And central Africa and I was letting him know that is TZ's duty.. remember maize and stuffs..
mtisTheQubit: have you seen Nostra or Lionezza or jace guy or even the boer (ok sometimes he goes nuts ) concerned with sh.itness of other countries...they only patcipate when SaA is called..your boy is different i tell you
He(jiln5) goes nut to you via he is picking it lies like a cotton...
Jace blaze, nostra, lionezza are not ardent followers of this thread..there stroll in here every once in a while....same cannot be said about frequent users like jiln5 and austine hence their involvement in every convo here.
rvp20182: UN staff rent from Kenya landlords. Runda was a coffee plantation. The UN compound is not visible from there - Drone restriction and it also sit besides the US embassy - and I guess that is where RUNDA got her name...but UN itself really lies in Gigiri. Runda is an adjacent coffee plantation - that was started getting built about 30yrs ago..1990s.
There are UN approved areas for staff to stay in - Blue Zones - but like I told you Nairobi posh estates are numerous - they cover nearly 1/2 of Nairobi landmass.
Some have turned commercial like upperhill, westlands and kilimani.
Runda I bet is under risks town which is an extension of Westland into the metro....13km.away from the city centre and runda gives you the feel of a dusty little town with massive infastructural deficit..
mtisTheQubit: few cities in africa can compare with mombasa on beauty..trust me on that...
Beauty and development are two different things...never mistake one for the other... Take away Diani and Mombasa will be a hot choatic, concrete slumpolis..
Just30: Can you post the sectors that kenya will even come close to Ghana?
Physical Infrastructure you say.
Internet traffic out of Kenya is far lower than Internet traffic out of Ghana. Only you will believe that 45 million Kenyans have access to internet especially when they say their population is 48 million and and more than 50% is below the age of 18
Old people in Ghana that are deprived are given LEAP benefits monthly.
Transaction on their momo is far lower than in Ghana per annum.
Kenya national airline has been making losses for more than 15 years, that nothing to write home about. Ghana operated a national airline for more than 40 years when it was necessary.
Kenyans are busy being enslaved in the Arab world because of hardship in their country. Ghanaians are not drowning in the med.
Our informal sector is unmatch in progress by anything in East Africa.
Come for a free ticket to Nairobi and you will run back to Ghana in a week.
That is one of the greatest lies ever told in the history of mankind....Kenyan govt are just so dam good at it..
