68816419:if Nairobi is truly developed, why didn't he show the major roads, the bridges and flyovers,the solar powered streetlights,the drainage systems, the supermarkets etc in low class place in Nairobi. This is simply because about 80 % or more of Nairobi is in the rural state. Most of the views were just like roads of villages and abandoned towns without any thing busy. A place like Iyana ipaja,Abule Egba has world class infrastructure Nairobiwalker, show me your low income parts of Nairobi with modern infrastructure.Abule Egba in Lagos has a world class bridge finer than any one in Nairobi CBD,it will have a brt lane. Ketu,Magbodo etc are nice cities in low class Lagos. Now show me a big giant infrastructure in low class Nairobi far far from the CBD |

My Nigerians,I just watched the regents projects and infrastructure transformation in PH(garden city) Mehn you need to see the modern schools, the road infrastructure, the parks,the state buildings and bridges. Pleasure park,PH city is a world class park that blew my mind The states transformation is massive, the aesthetics were glaring.The PH light rail will also make the city more advanced. If I show street views of yaba,Ikeja,surulere you might think its the island. The entire Lagos landmass has undergone urban beautification Meaning Even Ajegunle has its modern side with beautiful estates and businesses. The only filthy place without anything of such or any kind of modernity is makoko. BTW A full blown slum in Nairobi, about 4 out of 10 of the world is pathetic. meaning for instance about the land mass of Victoria sland plus lekki and ikoyi is occupied by a slum in Nairobi |

Failure to showing street views of other kenyan suburbs has shown Nairobi is a big failure of being a city. The government spends hugely on only the CBD to impress tourists.You will never find a white in mathare or kibera. 2 Likes |

That's why about 40 or 50% of Africa's biggest projects are in lekki. Now we have Lekki(consists of multiple and thousand cities and even small islands) VI ikoyi Lagos island I assure you that VI is bigger in land mass than Kenya's 2 CBDs VI has got its high rises spread everywhere. |

Its No longer news that the governor of Akwa ibom state Mr Udom Emmanuel is determined to restore the glory of the forgotten oil city of the Niger Delta. Eket plays host to the technical base of Exxon Mobil in Nigeria and accounts for 95% of its production in Nigeria. Projects ongoing in the renewal package include the construction of major roads, in the city. 2) widening/ dualization of major road Arteries. 3) underground storm drains/sewage channelization. 4) Yiwu international trade market/ mall - 3 storey containing 5000 shops. 5) Eket city park, simillar to the ibom plaza uyo and the raffia city park in Ikot Ekpene. 6) 17000 seater stadium All seater all covered at eket city centre. and many more. See the roads ambode commissioned last year in Alimosho,one of the most poorest suburbs or if not the most poorest, with road markings,street lights,brt bus stops etc. Nairobi can't struggle to compete with Lagos. This is what real developmentiis not the bbest place of a city. The government of Lagos made a huge infrastructure coverage to furthermore open up its inner towns. Alimosho is considered the poorest neighborhood in Lagos but now boast of huge infrastructure speaking in terms of roads. The LAGS government alone commissioned 21 road networks in Alimosho. Kenyans look very well,you can see the road signs,the street lights ,the road markings, the bus stops.Take a view at every where and tell me if it is like what you see in your Nairobi mega slum. See the houses again  .Check Google and be surprised to see the results on Google,that's a milestone achievement

Why is it that all Nairobi buildings are fused together in the CBD.Can't skyscrapers be spread across the entire City instead of just the Cbd. I will still continue to use Lagos as an example of a developed city. I will use Apapa as another case study for Nairobi. The whole Nairobi should boast of development with high rises and not only in Westland and upper hill. The whole island is considered sophisticated speaking in.terms of development and Nairobi's developed part isn't still up to 10% of the Island. Lagos continues to give its inner cities a modern outlook because virtually everywhere is almost urban. Lagos is generating power on its own,almost bigger than what the entire Kenya generates. Lagos urbanization is just so humongous than Kenya and yet Kenyans say Lagos has slums,not forgetting the huge no of slums in Nairobi with less population and less urbanization. Kenyans will come and say Lagos is ranked amongst worst cities. Lagos can only be ranked worst because of power issues and its population and nothing more. Nairobi is far from being developed |
