I discovered that thread of IBOs and Yoruba's competing with each other, in the areas of businesses.

That's how it should be,I will destroy this thread with the those achievements,to send Kenyans away. That's why Nigeria's manufacturing industry is second or third biggest.

The results there are too much.

NASENI Launches First wholly Made-In-Nigeria Motocycle
As a proof of potential capacities of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to provide necessary engineering and technology infrastructure for industrial development of Nigeria, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Agency, Dr.Mohammed Sani Haruna yesterday launched first ever wholly made-in-Nigeria motor cycle called ‘NASENI M1”. The motorcycle was test-run working perfectly. The 80C engine motorcycle was conceived, designed and manufactured, using local materials by Nigerian engineers at the National Engineering Design Development Institute (NEDDI)-one of the nine (9) research and development (R& ) Institutes supervised by NASENI.

World Wide Web Foundation names Nigeria’s former ICT Minister, Omobola Johnson to its board
[b]Dr Omobola Johnson has been appointed as the newest member of the World Wide Web Foundation Board of Directors. Her expert knowledge of technology policy and life-long commitment to enabling connectivity for all will provide invaluable guidance for the Web Foundation as we fight to ensure everyone can access the web and use it to improve their lives.
Omobola, who is currently a Senior Partner at TLcom Capital LLP, brings over 30 years of ICT experience across the private and public sectors. From 2011-2015, she served as Nigeria’s Minister of Communication, where she developed the country’s ambitious 2013-2018 National Broadband Plan, and worked more broadly to bring down the cost of internet access in Nigeria. During her time as Minister, the percentage of people online in Nigeria nearly doubled, growing from 24% of the population in 2010 to 43% in 2014.
Under her leadership, Nigeria became the first African country to join the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) — a global coalition, led by the Web Foundation, working to make broadband affordable for all. Since 2015, Omobola has served as A4AI’s Honorary Chair, where she has provided the Alliance with strategic policy guidance and has led high-level advocacy efforts to drive down the cost of internet. She will continue in this role through October 2018.

What is the impact on crime. Installing CCTVs is part of the solution. You need an integrated approach like in Nairobi. It has go beyond camera - you need smart cameras with facial recognition, with number plate recognition, you need police officers armed with gis enabled video enabled gadgets, you need the whole shebang. That is why we invested 150M usd...which in Naira would be like nearly 600B NAIRA!

Can Lagos state afford to invest 600B Naira on smart security systems like Nairobi & Mombasa?

Our policing has greatly improved. Police have brand new cars because we no longer buy them but lease them - and they are operational 24-7s. We have hired more police and are about UN recommended size.

Our police have health and life insurances. Their terms of services have improved greatly.

And now we are digitizing police - all police are going to be computer trained - OB (occurrence book) and all police work will be digitized.

Yes they are still corrupt and thuggish - we have vetted and fired the really bad ones - but ultimately that challenge we will confront - easily when we have all these stuffs in place.

Otherwise nearly every serious private or public premise in any city now has CCTV - so installing CCTV - without monitoring center - or number plate recognition or facial recognition - is not helpful.
Are you alright at all,why did yo think we suspended Vehicle inspection office.

See your childishness, trying to make me feel Nairobi is developed and advanced and making me feel Nairobi is richer than Lagos.
When Lagos economy alone is bigger than whole Kenya, you simply lack knowledge of basic economics, you are still comparing currencies by mere denominations, instead of Purchasing power parity.

So if you split your money into pieces and it is almost same as dollar and more than Chinese yuan means your economy is better than China's(what a childish thinking)

I told you Lagos alone is better than whole Kenya.
Lagos for instance banned the use of VIOs to give room for technology to help monitor and inspect vehicles, use technology to beat traffic

Now just use this as key word on Google and come back with the answer
" Ambode bans VIOs, to replace them with technology"

You went ahead of even saying monitor control centre.
For God's sake why will there be CCTVs without monitoring centres.

Think RVP,think

Nairobi has cctvs in low class and high class estates

You Should also give us proof that lagos has cctvs everywhere
Thank you for accepting that Narobi CCTVs are only in the CBD

Fashola had Launched.the use of CCTVs in Lagos as early as at 2013 in Lagos to curtail criminal activities in Lagos, about 10,000 CCTVs were installed

Now Gov Ambode installed additional 13,000 CCTVs plus CCTVs attached to the vans of Lagos state rapid response squad police and streetlights security sensors and not minding additional ones from FG

A place like Agege, oshodi etc all have street cameras

Lagos will start using smart street lights in order to detect and reduce traffic

Nairobi can't measure up with lagos

Now tell me those shantty towns in Nairobi has cameras

Nairobi & Mombasa are covered by smart CCTVS and more than that. That is why terror activities became alien and crime is under control. The whole project cost 150M dollars - was finance by Safaricom license fee for 4G - and was executed by Huwaei.

Huwaei won awards for rolling out that system in Nairobi & Mombasa.

"Huawei’s deployment of a new communications network, which links over 1800 surveillance cameras with 195 bureaux and 7600 police officers in Nairobi, is of great strategic importance in terms of national and economic security. The National Police Service Commission of Kenya, for example, has a high-speed private broadband network that partly relies on the company’s propriety wireless enhanced long-term evolution (eLTE) solution.

“The wireless infrastructure links the National Police Service Commission’s command centres with over 1500 high-definition cameras in downtown Nairobi. Furthermore, it supports more than 200 cameras that are installed at city checkpoints and several wireless devices distributed to officers in the field,” said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst, Joanita Roos. “Thus, authorities can conduct panoramic video surveillance of Nairobi’s urban centre, as well as maintain a highly-agile command and dispatch setup that runs on satellite-based global positioning system (GPS) and software-based geographic information system (GIS).”
You can see it took you long stories to write this. Are the CCTVs in the low class parts of Nairobi

Oshodi has CCTVs monitoring its axis

Ibadan has CCTVs monitoring all over its cities.

There is virtually no Estate in Lagos that has no CCTVs

Now proof that Nairobi has CCTVs in low class suburbs and cities

Nigeria exports Agricultural products,plastics,cotton,Entertainment, fashion, expatriates,rubber,tyres,electrical wires,finished products , motor vehicles,technology etc

Nigeria's telecom sector even contributes about 10% to GDP

But you are always so quick to Cry Oil like a little kid.

Wait for Lekki deep sea port that's going to be the deepest, wait for iboms deep sea port

It appears only Afgan is red outside Africa . Africa need to really stop breeding. Whatever economic growth (3-4%) we have in sub-sahara africa is in vain if the whole map is Red.

It appears only Kenya has bucked the trend outside South Africa 3 (RSa, Bots,Nam) in Sub-Sahara Africa. Which is quite impressive considering Kenyans were breeding like no one else in most of 70s & 80s. On average kenya women had 8-9 kids. Our economy for most of 60s & 70s was growing at same rate with Asian tigers..but all that became nothing as we breaded like Nigerian rats. We learnt our lesson and began one of most impressive population control programme...that was not forced like China but more rigorous family planning education and investment in making sure contraceptives were available and free. We just have challenges in few remote areas - that were neglected - but generally contraceptive usage in kenya is pretty impressive.

Nigeria and TZ should really learn from Kenya.

India like Kenya - need to go down to blue - 1-2 kids from 2-3 kids.

See strong correlation btw fertility and HDI.

Nigeria alone has more than 7 ports + the ibom deep seaport and others under construction.
What of the already completed inland dry port in Kaduna commissioned ago.

Ikeja alone has more industrial clusters than whole kenya(Google is your friend)

Thanks. Let me add Nairobi Dry port has capacity of nearly 0.5M TEUS now. We will also build a bigger Dry port in Naivasha as part of currrent SGR expansion. Then last phase of SGR will also entail building a big PORT in Kisumu - Lake Victoria. And we have LAMU 3 berth nearly ready - so in few years - Kenya will be kicking arse - economy and logistic wise.
Kaduna recently comisioned its Dry inland port
