Fynestboi: LET'S TRY THIS GAME: to keep this place lively

It's called "THE LAST MAN STANDING"

The one who comments last wins, with each WORD that ends ur sentence, the next person to comment will use ur last WORD to start his or her sentence.

Example: "welcome to the game", next person'll start with "GAME" E.g "Game of this sort is for matured minds"
Next person'll start with "MINDS" and so on....
Please if u find out ur comment is not in line with the GAME'S rule, delete and try again.
I'll start with:
Life is a teacher the more we live the more we learn.
Next person should start with "LEARN" Let's go....
Learn how to give us prior notice before bringing any game here! cheesy

papindinho: then I put it that underutilization of material and non-material resources is the bane behind the lingering mindset of the averages.

Soyinka being a case study here is not so feasible as compared to a pauper's kid in the village. Minds are diverse though, but the SETTINGS we find ourselves is a predominant factor as to what our thoughts are.

I wouldn't argue the whites being smarter as rightly nored earlier as it was conspicuous in the words of Von Goethe that "character develops itself in the stream of life and that life starts from our immediate surroundings".

Several Africans have sailed through the thorns to learn abroad and the SETTINGS gave them the befitting NEEDS they lacked in Africa. So, there is nothing wrong with Africans but their settings is the debilitating factor the beclouds the dexterious riches in African race.

#just a thought.
Very Very Right thought.

phtemie: I think you guys have discussed this and reached a conclusion..But I just want to contribute my own little cents..I just hope it's not belated.

In as much as I believe that inferiority complex is a syndrome affecting many nigerians,I still believe it would be self-deceit if anyone asserts that the whites are not smarter than us..Yes!I said they are smarter..Not subscribing to an idea doesn't confute the reality of the idea..Atheists/agnostics don't believe in the reality of God's existence and religious mysticism, yet that doesn't discredit the reality of God's existence..Synonymously,that we nigerians, africans and blacks in general don't believe the whites are currently smater than Us doesn't refute the credibility of the idea..A Man city fan is likely to tell you they lost to Bayern due to tactical problem or managerial incompetence, but anybody reasoning from a neutral platform would concur with me that if the team had featured two Messis and two Ronaldos or both pep guardiola and mourinho the team would probably have lost the match.

It is only in Africa that a mechanical engineer would take his faulty car to a roadside Mechanic.

Only in Africa a Medical doctor would advise you to take your sick child to a local church instead of a hospital

Most technically advanced gadgets we use were made by the whites..Same thing applies to the cars we use.

Until I see an african syndicate produce a car archetype or an aeroplane prototype, then the idea would remain unrefutable.

Seriously,Nigerians like self-deceit and complacency..I think facing reality is another mental emancipation Nigerians need.
Actions speak louder than words..Let them know they aren't superior through our own actions.
You're very right Big boss.

However, I still say you've spoken from the general overview.

Very True, Africa is way out of place compared to the white.

But, I still stand to say it depends on the The Mindset

Professor Wole Soyinka, The Literatus Will in no way feel inferior to the whites.

Why? He crossed the Prejudice boundary through his viable actions. He Lectured the Whiteman's Language in the WhiteMan's country.

Just like a Sage said 'No Man Can Make You Feel Inferior without your Consent.'

Its high Time we developed our Mindset and grow out of the Cage.

Oluwatola5: OUR AFRICAN CULTURE

Our culture can b traced down 2 d early ages, times wen finz were done in order 2 carve a niche 4 deir dieverse tribes, and all these were passd on 4rm generation to generation, but it stands logic on its head 2 know dat 2dai, d our culture is being washed away by d rain of d moments. Our culture is being demeaned by modernization, civilization and globalization. Som of d finz gradually fading away are arts making, modes of dressing, tribal marks and so on. Talkin abt d ish of TRIBAL MARKS, dis marks were cr8d 4 d purpose of beautification, identification and recognition. Dey are rily peculiar to ethnic groups in Nigeria. But wut do we av 2dai? Trival marks are bein dominated by tattoos, d invent of tatoos seems to have sent tribal marks to d bench. Now my question is this, in a bid to revive our culture, do u fink we should all go back to tribal marks beautification in order to revive it or we watch it go off? Give ur rsns peeps. Good aftunoon
No doubt, the African culture is sound and Rich in Morals, but I'm also quick to Point out the fact that most of these cultures make us look Primitive and backward.

CHANGE!- as they say, is the most constant thing.

I cease to imagine how humane it is to mutilate the delicate face skin in the name of Recognition, beautification or identification.

However, Preference is the Rule of Life.

One Sunny Afteroon, Miracy came running to me that she desperately needed a Job. She complained that she's tired of staying at home and she wants anything just to while away time.

Being a nice dude who has connections in most Top eateries, I decided to fix an appointment with the Famous Mama Cass and her at one of their restaurantz in Oregun, Ikeja.

I asked her if she can cook very well and she replied in the affirmative.

Hmmmm......

We got to the restaurant in no time and we both headed straight to the Director's office. Fortunately, we met Mama Cass and after exchanging pleasantries, I explained the predicament of Miracy to her.

She Decided to help her.

"Don't worry Sam, I'll employ her as a cook " she told me.

I was Happy. Miracy was happy too.

Mama Cass decided to conduct a Mini unofficial interview with Miracy and She took her to the adjoining office.

The following conversation ensued between Mama Cass and Miracy:

Mama Cass: (with Smiles). Young Lady, what is your Name?

Miracy: (Fidgeting with her nails) I'm Tosin.

Mama Cass: Why have you Decided to take up this Job?

Miracy: I just got admitted to study Law in Oau, but the lingering ASUU strike is slowing the pace of things Ma, so I decided to while away time with the Job ma.

Mama Cass: That's thoughtful of you.....

###Meanwhile, I was leaning by the wall, listening to the interview.###

She continued,

Mama Cass: Are you sure you can cook very well?

Miracy: Yes Ma, I'm very skilled. I can prepare Tea,
Cook indomie, and I can heat water for Garri(Eba)

###Mama Cass and I exchanged glances### She was confused.

She decided to probe further,

Mama Cass: What are the procedures for preparing Amala?

Miracy: (smiling sheepishly) Firstly, you Rinse the Yam Flour(Elubo)............

Mama Cass: shocked shocked shocked...(With shaky Voice) co....n...t...i..n..u...e

Miracy: .............After, you parboil the water and cook it like Rice........

###Mama Cass Fainted###
### I Fainted too###
###Miracy is Currently Jobless###

Nairalane: Join me in my structural thought. It goes thus. People generally believe that the whitemen are wiser and unquestionably superior to we blacks. But sometimes ,they act meaninglessly and unattached to the dictionary of human behaviours. For example, naming a child woodgate, stone, hazard, blunt, churchill, green, sand. The most annoying is tiger woods. If "woods" is d surname, how can i name my son "tiger". Does this make any sense. Despite this personality-debasing whitemen displays, we ourselves still believe that the whitemen are so superior to us. We blacks consider ourselves as less important. For instance, when papadinho and samtolly park their clothes out yesterday and ready for a wash, they wash d white ones first and then to wash the rugged black ones in parallel channel. So, u too practise racism-superiority of the supercilious whitemen above the black. Maybe its natural, hypothetically stated. But i cannot explain. I believe we blacks are gifted, as created by God. Thank God that salvation was made free, the whitemen would have hijack the whole with their mere-haughty colonising spirit and a sublime piece of mysticism. Thank you for your time.
Nice piece sire.

I think the black race is still suffering from the degrading situation we were made to face during colonialism. Countries like Russia still pride themselves in their supposed Superiority complex thereby forcing unsuspecting Africans to cringe away as the underdog.

I'm however happy that this act of prejudice is gradually fading away as we black are always proving our worth.

Ben Carson- The Famous Surgeon, is a Black American.

The World President, Obama, Is an African.

Countless sages too.

Up Africa!
