How can someone just open her mouth and be talking such falsified information?
Not falsified information but fact though here in Oyo state. each local govt agric dept has information about BOA covering their LGC and BOA work with them to connect farmer or make sure the claim of farmer about their farm is genuine.

samuel25. Accept my expression of concern about the state of things with your biz. First, I don't think the feeds is the problem as I consider Amo Bygn feeds as good as Top Feeds, though change in the feeds given could lead to TEMPORARY reduction in production. However, it should not have lasted this long. Secondly, a level of reduction at this time of the year is expected due to the heat stress occasioned by the adverse weather. However, it doesn't account for this significant drop. I'll rule out pecking; because you never said you saw broken shells.
Having said all those, it is obvious your birds have some health issues. You can help your readers here in making better/more accurate diagnosis by reviewing the birds' vaccination schedule. However, in the interim, I'll like to submit that oral Lasota and injectable Komorov are the best treatment for NCD. Awaiting a review of your vaccination schedule. Success.
.
Thanks so much appreciated

URGENT HELP PLEASE!!!
Good day experienced farmers in the house. please help me out of this problem. my layers started laying by December and by January they reached around 79 - 85%. Early February I discovered their production reduced to 60% which made me to suspect they are breaking their eggs and I redebeaked them immediately, two days later I suspected Newcastle in them (shellless egg) which I treated with Virucida and intergendox. during the same week I moved them to battery cage and the Topfeed I was using finished, I went for Amoo feed because Top feed is not available. Since then till now the production stand at 50% and the egg size became so small. the worst is that my customers are complain that the eggs are bad since that period. Truly, the eggs look watery when break and when cook, half of it is water. Please what have I done wrong. can it be the change in feed or the stress too much for them.

Pls what can make some layers to be sounding like local hen on incubation after laying for some period like 2 months on deep liter system, and even stop laying for some day. Some even behave like sitting on the eggs like being on incubation.

Thanks.

however, I advice op not to risk more dan he can afford to loos

This sound like a 50-50 game. More like gambling

I don't like gambling

It should be on business basis.
Poultry business is not gambling it's only when you don't know anything about poultry, then it becomes gambling. Go for practical training on poultry, see things for yourself and participate in them, ask questions. then you know poultry is business and not gambling

samuel25. There is no problem in doing that. I had a similar experience when a few of my laying birds would leave their cages and be subsequently mated by the cockrels on the floor. None of my customers ever came up with any complaints about eggs brought from me. Success
Thanks so much.
AgricultureRe: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by samuel25(m): 12:44pm On Jan 09, 2015
I raised layer along cockerel in the same deep liter pen. some of the cockrel have been sold off remaining like 6 among the laying birds. And they are mating with the layers. As at now no any problem, the layers are laying well and the cockrel are not tampering with the egg. Hope my practice does not have any negative effects on the long run.

Akala should go and sit down and bury his head in shame. All through his administration, I couldn't mention anything he has done. I travelled to ibadan severally last year and I see massive improvement in most part of the state.

I'll advise Akala to go and sit down and plan how he will keep maintaining his bleached body with all the loot he has siphoned from the government purse rather than bothering himself by chasing shadows.

Ajimobi has performed and I think he deserves a second term
Leave the discussion to Oyo state residents, just passing through one area in a town is not enough to judge the performance of sitting governor in the state.
Watch what will happen in Oyo state and see how Ajimobi redefined Democracy as Government of the Husband through the Wife and for the Children who live abroad.
PoliticsRe: The Trouble With The Buhari Manifesto BY ABIMBOLA ADELAKUN by samuel25(m):
We are yet to see any realistic change in Buhari manifesto. Anybody can come with good idea on how to rule Nigeria but the question is, how realistic and achievable the idea is?
PoliticsRe: The Trouble With The Buhari Manifesto BY ABIMBOLA ADELAKUN by samuel25(m): 9:49pm On Jan 01, 2015
barcanista:
The writer is very hypocritical. Manifestoes usually captures what an incoming government aim to bring to the table, the "how" is another issue. This is why there is debate for people to scruitinize aspirants and ask questions about how promises can be achieved. Everything does not necessarily need to lump inside a document called manifesto. The criticisms of the author should be thrown into the trash can, he should have questioned the Buhari Campaign to ask them to explain the "How". You don't expect an aspirant to tell you "I will introduce stiff taxing to salvage the economy". I see nothing wrong with the document honestly! Support Change and Vote buhari in next month's contest.
Please go and check the meaning of manifesto and come back to edit your post. Because we have all used to how unachievable manifesto is always presented to us should stop us from appreciating good manifesto when we see one. How will somebody at this computer age should just present USUAL campaign promises to us and expect everybody to started jubilating. It is a known fact that we need change in this country but not just empty promises change but a honest change practicable in a Democratic setting. If Buhari can give us an elaborate manifesto with detailed HOW TO DO WHAT, it will be an added advantage to his chance to win the vote of elites in the country. Empty promises like this has filled our memory since 1999, therefore, we need something different not just ORDINARY CHANGE IN THE NAME OF PRESIDENT.

Congrats to you GMB for sticking with someone from the SW where the election will be decided.

In 2011, Buhari did not have the support of Tinubu, Fashola and all other APC politicians which he now enjoys. I am very sure that Osinbajo was nominated by Tinubu. So, Tinubu and the rest APC governors will surely deliver the votes.
And Amaechi and other APC in SS/SE will have their due if APC win. AMAECHI AS PETROL MINISTER WONT BE BAD IDEA.
Change indeed.

Land preparation is very important in farming.
I have once committed the sin of improper land preparation and it almost cost me my investment.

Get a good tractor provider service and make sure the land is ploughed twice (in some cases three times).
Not always applicable, depending on the crop. especially this day that the use of herbicide is the order of the day.

Day 2-4----Antibiotic/vitamin
Day 5-------Gomboro
Day 6 till slaughter (8 weeks and above)------V-mix

In as much as i'm not GEJ fan, i dislike APC as a party. Try to watch live APC campaign, rally or convention as a christian objectively, you will hate the party with passion no matter who they present as flagbearer. The speech of their leaders is full of islamic recitation EVEN IN PRESENCE OF SO CALLED FASHOLA. How can we now trust this set of people on issue of RELIGION. Anybody can verify my REASON given and come to his/her own conclusion. May God almighty give us a good leaders. My humble submission.

The truth is that our environment didnt support such. #MyExperience: Graduated in 2007, went for NYSC 2008/9, Busy searching for work frm march-sept '09, Started recharge card biz in Sept '09 when d biz started booming having moved frm retailer to wholesaler, d Abuja devt control demolished my kiosk on Nov 2011, tried another location but things are not the same again.
