Leading sportswear manufacturer, Nike is the new technical sponsor to the Nigeria Football Federation, supporting all national team levels and grassroots development.
Nike and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced a new partnership in which Nike, the world’s leading football brand, is designing and developing football kits for the men’s and women’s national football teams of Nigeria from April 1, 2015, until at least 2018.

Nike is designing performance and training apparel, and equipment, including team kits and footballs, for the Nigerian national football team players at every level of the game. There will be an exclusive-edition team kit for all NFF teams until the 2016-17 kit launches in mid-2016.
In addition, Nike will design an assortment of products for Nigerians to show their support for the national team, to be available from mid-2016.
The Nigeria under-20 men’s team will be the first team to don the new Nike kit at the under-20 football tournament to be hosted in New Zealand from May 31.
“We are very pleased to partner with the Nigeria Football Federation, one of Africa’s premier teams,” said Laurent Payre, Nike Africa VP / General Manager. “The passion for football in Nigeria is renowned and Nike is committed to supporting and advancing the game at all levels through inspiration and innovation for young men and women.”

With peace and quiet from the usually vociferous Abubakar Shekau, supreme head of the Boko Haram in recent times, there are speculations within the security circles that the group may have been so disarrayed that it no longer has the luxury of issuing threats.

A military source disclosed Thursday that since the declaration of the final push against the insurgents in the middle of February, and directive to clear all terrorists’ camps before May 29 handover date,  the Nigerian troops have been on the lookout for Shekau and other commanders of Boko Haram.
“The guy simply disappeared from the radar and suddenly vanished. We wish we can catch him alive,” the source added. The last that was heard of Shekau was the unverified broadcast pledging allegiance to Islamic State (IS), early in March which was posted on Boko Haram’s Twitter account.
In that broadcast he also vowed to disrupt the rescheduled elections. Shekau was quoted to have said: “This election will not be held even if we are dead. Even if we are not alive Allah will never allow you to do it.” He made the statement in Hausa language.
Despite the threats however, the group was unable to disrupt the 2015 general elections as polls were conducted reasonably peacefully throughout the country on March 28 and April 11.
Since asking for a six week extension to the date of 2015 general elections in February, Nigerian troops have essentially flushed out boko haram terrorists from the 21 local government areas that they occupied in three states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
The military has invaded the notorious forest hideouts of terrorists and is systematically combing them to clear the entire Nigerian territory of terrorist elements.
On Wednesday, Defence Headquarters issued a statement detailing the killing of a notorious top terrorists’ commander, Abu Mojahid among scores of others in the outskirt of Alagarno on Tuesday morning.

It is now five years since the rap king, Dagrin died, yet his fame and name never at any time disappeared in Nigeria’s rap game. Reminiscing on his death reminded me of his bravery and guts in the use and commands of language which he best displayed in his last song ‘If I die”.
In the chorus of this song, Grin as popularly called by some of his followers stated clearly, about his abhorrence for pretentious tears and developed his verse to tell of himself as man who wanted his best and not self-pity.
Today, we celebrate a legend by obeying his lines:
“ If I die, if I die
Make you no cry for me
E jen simi, ejo kejen mi”
When the song was released shortly after his death , it triggered tremendous controversy, went viral and was even perceived as diabolical due to its’ contextual coincidence with the talent’s death but one can’t ignore that this same song gave the biggest succor to many of his fans who couldn’t bear his demise at the said time.
Putting the records straight, it will be unfair to misconstrue Dagrin’s creativity for diabolism as he is not the first artiste who did songs about the foreshadowing of one’s death. Foreshadowing, is just a literary technique which involves the use of indicative lines to set the stage for an event to unfold-Dagrin’s acclaimed mentor, 2pac Shakur had done something of this nature with songs like If I die tonight; I wonder if Heaven goota a Ghetto etc.
Dagrin mastered his musical works and he will forever remain unforgotten for it; his songs are trade-marked to sell both his brand and contents- From the release of his first sophomore album, “Still on the Matter” to his second album, “Chief Executive Omo-Ita, C.E.O”, he kept his head high and was unique among his competitors.
He had massive hits during his lifetime and he took this glory on even at his exit from Nigeria’s music scene with the track: “If I die”. He rocked parties with tracks like, “ Mo lenu bi Pon, Pon”;  ‘Efimile'; Kondo (Magic Stick), Swag among others all sold out.
Do you remember that laughter signature, “A-haaaaaaa!” which always gives him the majestic street entrance into any song he finds himself? This among other techniques won him an ‘ocean-size’ kind of followers in his short reign in stardom.
Some will love him in a way that you won’t help but ask why? I once criticized a staunch Christ believer friend of mine who is also a fan of Dagrin, she was one of those who effortlessly sing in and out every track done by or any which featured the talented artiste. I asked her, “are you not aware this is a worldly song?” she replied,  “Forget it! I am a born again Christian but I can’t just resist singing along the songs of Dagrin. He is deep, If singing him is wrong, please accept it as my bad habit.” She said smiling.
This is just one out the thousands overwhelming compliments awaken on the lips of the fan of this gifted artiste.  More tributes are coming in, Dagrin lives on.

Irele (Ondo State)- High Chief Moses Enimade, the Oyewoga of Ode Irele in Ondo State, says the recent death of 20 youths in the town was caused by sacrilege done to Molokun, god of the land.
Enimade, next in command to Oba Cornelius Olanrewaju-Lebi, stated this during interview in Irele on Saturday.
He debunked the rumour that the deaths were caused by strange disease or Ebola virus.
It will be recalled that no fewer than 20 youths reportedly died of severe headaches and blindness in the town recently.
Enimade contended that some stubborn youths broke into the inner room of Molokun Shrine on April 15.
“Molokun is a deity of the land, only the Chief Priest and High Chief Gboguron are qualified to enter the shrine.’’
The chief said the youths entered the shrine and made away with traditional items in a bid to acquire extra-ordinary powers and engage in money ritual.
“They were not qualified to enter the room (shrine). They had to face death penalty’’; he emphasised.
The Oyewoga said it he could not remember the last time Malokun or any other gods had to strike like this in the area.
According to him, there is no community or town without its own culture and tradition; what happened in Irele is the judgement of the gods on stubborn youths.
“Even the Kabiesi himself is not permitted to enter the Molokun Shrine’s inner room except the Chief Priest and High Chief Gboguron. Sacrifice must be performed before they can enter.
“Because these youths want to be rich at all cost, they entered the sacred place and made away with traditional items and 20 of them have died as a result of their desperate acts,
“We have to appease the gods or else many will still die and we have to bury them according to tradition. Their corpses belong to the gods and will be exhumed if buried by their families.’’
He restated that the deaths were not caused by diseases or ebola as widely speculated.
“The death caused by Molokun is characterised by severe headache and blindness.
“Proverbs 29:1 in the Bible say: `he that had been reproved and hardened his neck shall suddenly be destroyed without remedy; so youths of nowadays must be careful’’’, Enimade said.
Some residents who spoke appealed to the chief priest to make necessary atonement to avert calamity in the town.
They said news of the deaths had given the town and state a bad name.
Mr Sheed Osuolale said he was afraid when the news broke.
Mrs Esther Bantefa said the news had given the town and the state a bad name adding that the chief priest should as a matter of urgency perform necessary rituals.
“Our people in Lagos and other towns called us to get information if it was Ebola outbreak’’, she said.
Mrs Tayo Akinyelure said parents should warn their children against going near shrines.
“Many youths do not believe in all these traditions and customs. It is high time parents warned their children against committing sacrilege’’, she said. (NAN)

As the Nigeria Under-20 get set to commence training ahead of the FIFA Under -20 World Cup in May, Ademola John, an ardent reader of SL10.ng writes in from Canada - a letter to coach Manu Garba on grey areas he noticed in the team.

While we can admire how well the U20s did to become African championships, the coaches have admitted they are far from the finished product. Here's some advice from Ademola on how they go to that next level.

Dear Manu...


Defense - we were dominated at set pieces, corners during the AYC. We need height, a good header of the ball.

Midfield - Too many stray passes leading to cheap concession of possession. The link between defense and offense breaks down too many times for my liking.

Forward - Another option upfront in case Taiwo Is suppressed/injured or even a two-man strike force. Success, if still on song, or Moses would be good

Overview

My main concerns are in the defence. Set pieces- We were dominated here. Needs more work. Captain Musa Mohammed generates mixed feelings.

His energy and enthusiasm as well as his set pieces are not to be faulted. But defensively he is quite poor both in one-on-one situations and positionally. Moreover his crosses are more often than not ineffective.

He doesn't seem to raise his head up and seems to believe he can instinctively place the cross where he wants it. But he doesn't do that. So I am not at all convinced he should keep his 'automatic' shirt

Sour Point

I was just not impressed with the vision of the midfielders and also the ability of some players to move into the right space. The touch and the control was very good but now is time to improve their football brain and they will have to learn how to move the ball better after they all fall back to defend.

Goalkeepers? How healthy is Dele? Because if Ojo is the back up, we are in trouble

The midfielders didn't gel well when on the offence. Idowu is a good spoiler but can't distribute. I like Ifeanyi but he drops too deep to do too much defending. Defensive minded midfielder is a problem for me.

Who is Awoniyi's partner/backup? We are expecting Success but we need a different type of striker.

Observations

Your Left full back (Mustafa) is hardworking but not the real deal; he has to defend better...that is his first job.

Awoniyi is a worthy 9, but needs a swashbuckling support striker to take the weight off his shoulders...Chidera Ezeh is still not decisive enough to fit that bill.

Conclusion

I think there is need to seriously re-examine the shape in Midfield behind the press, to protect the team should an opponent play through the first line of pressure.

As currently structured, the team is too wide open sometimes and could be very vulnerable to the counter. Although talented, Ifeanyi, in his role, has to be far more disciplined and safe in possession.[/b]

For me the team is incomplete at Senegal but still the best team in that turnament. I believe every department will be ok when the likes of Ndidi, heanacho,Success, Yahaya and Nwakali arrive. Best of luck to my boys

Easter is the most important holiday for hundreds of millions of believers around the world. Yet thousands of Christians don't observe it. Do they know something that others don't?

Every spring, the anticipation and excitement of Easter is electrifying for many people. Churches prepare elaborate Easter programs that illustrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Parents take time to color Easter eggs and hide them so their children can hunt for them.
It's typical for TV movies this time of year to depict Easter as an enjoyable occasion of renewed happiness. Television advertisements and commercial businesses also get very involved with Easter as they offer colorful Easter baskets, Easter costumes and chocolate rabbits to celebrate this great religious event.
Many churches advertise outdoor Easter sunrise services, with any and all invited. Weather permitting, the Easter celebration is visually reinforced by watching the sun rise in the east.
But what do bunnies and colored eggs have to do with Jesus' resurrection?
And if this celebration is so important, why didn't Jesus teach His apostles and the early Church to observe it? The books of the New Testament were written over a span of decades after Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, yet nowhere do we see so much as a hint of any kind of Easter celebration.
So where exactly did Easter and its customs come from? Why do hundreds of millions of people celebrate the holiday today?
Can we find Easter in the Bible?

Easter is considered the most important religious festival in today's Christianity. "The Easter feast has been and still is regarded as the greatest in the Christian church, since it commemorates the most important event in the life of its Founder" ( The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, 1986, Vol. 2, "Easter". Given its popularity, one would think that surely this observance is found in God's Word.
Some cite Acts:12:4 as authority for celebrating Easter. But there's a problem in that Easter isn't really mentioned there at all. The King James Bible translators substituted "Easter" for the Greek word Pascha, which means "Passover." "The word [Easter] does not properly occur in Scripture, although [the King James Version] has it in Acts:12:4 where it stands for Passover, as it is rightly rendered in RV" (ibid.).
The vast majority of Bible translations recognize this error in the King James Version and rightly translate the word as "Passover" in Acts:12:4. The truth is, "there is no trace of Easter celebration in the [New Testament]" (ibid.)
Where did Easter come from?

If Easter isn't found in the Bible, where exactly did it come from? And just exactly what does the name Easter mean?
It's important to review credible historical sources to understand the celebration's true history. For example, The Encyclopaedia Britannica tells us: "At Easter, popular customs reflect many ancient pagan survivals—in this instance, connected with spring fertility rites, such as the symbols of the Easter egg and the Easter hare or rabbit" (15th edition, Macropaedia, Vol. 4, p. 605, "Church Year".
In the ancient world of the Middle East, people were far more connected to the land and cycles of nature than we are today. They depended on the land's fertility and crops to survive. Spring, when fertility returned to the land after the long desolation of winter, was a much-anticipated and welcomed time for them.
Many peoples celebrated the coming of spring with celebrations and worship of their gods and goddesses, particularly those associated with fertility. Among such deities were Baal and Astarte or Ashtoreth, mentioned and condemned frequently in the Bible, whose worship typically included ritual sex to promote fertility throughout the land.
It was only natural to the peoples of the ancient Middle East to incorporate symbols of fertility—such as eggs and rabbits, which reproduce in great numbers—into those pagan celebrations for their gods. As The Encyclopaedia Britannica notes above, Easter eggs and the Easter rabbit are simply a continuation of these ancient spring fertility rites.
Nineteenth-century Scottish Protestant clergyman Alexander Hislop's work The Two Babylons is still considered a definitive work on pagan customs that survive in today's religious practices.
On Easter, he wrote: "What means the term Easter itself? It is not a Christian name. It bears its Chaldean origin on its very forehead. Easter is nothing else than Astarte, one of the titles of Beltis, the queen of heaven, whose name, as pronounced by the people of Nineveh, was evidently identical with that now in common use in this country. That name, as found by [early archaeologist Sir Austen Henry] Layard on the Assyrian monuments, is Ishtar" (1959, p. 103).
The name Easter, then, comes not from the Bible. Instead its roots go far back to the ancient pre-Christian Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar, known in the Bible as Astarte or Ashtoreth .
Ancient resurrection celebrations

What did worship of this goddess Ishtar involve? "Temples to Ishtar had many priestesses, or sacred prostitutes, who symbolically acted out the fertility rites of the cycle of nature. Ishtar has been identified with the Phoenician Astarte, the Semitic Ashtoreth, and the Sumerian Inanna. Strong similarities also exist between Ishtar and the Egyptian Isis, the Greek Aphrodite, and the Roman Venus.
"Associated with Ishtar was the young god Tammuz [mentioned in Ezekiel:8:14], considered both divine and mortal . . . In Babylonian mythology Tammuz died annually and was reborn year after year, representing the yearly cycle of the seasons and the crops. This pagan belief later was identified with the pagan gods Baal and Anat in Canaan " ( Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, 1995, "Gods, Pagan," p. 509).
Alan Watts, expert in comparative religion, wrote: "It would be tedious to describe in detail all that has been handed down to us about the various rites of Tammuz . . . and many others . . . But their universal theme—the drama of death and resurrection—makes them the forerunners of the Christian Easter, and thus the first 'Easter services.' As we go on to describe the Christian observance of Easter we shall see how many of its customs and ceremonies resemble these former rites" ( Easter: Its Story and Meaning, 1950, p. 58).
He goes on to explain how such practices as fasting during Lent, erecting an image of the deity in the temple sanctuary, singing hymns of mourning, lighting candles and nighttime services before Easter morning originated with ancient idolatrous practices (pp. 59-62).
Another author, Sir James Frazer (1854-1941), knighted for his contributions to our understanding of ancient religions, describes the culmination of the ancient idolatrous worship this way: "The sorrow of the worshippers was turned to joy . . . The tomb was opened: the god had risen from the dead; and as the priest touched the lips of the weeping mourners with balm, he softly whispered in their ears the glad tidings of salvation.
"The resurrection of the god was hailed by his disciples as a promise that they too would issue triumphant from the corruption of the grave. On the morrow . . . the divine resurrection was celebrated with a wild outburst of glee. At Rome, and probably elsewhere, the celebration took the form of a carnival" ( The Golden Bough, 1993, p. 350).
A new celebration with ancient idolatrous roots

In various forms, worship of this god under the names Tammuz, Adonis and Attis, among others, spread from the outer reaches of the Roman Empire to Rome itself. There a truly remarkable development took place: Early Catholic Church leaders merged customs and practices associated with this earlier "resurrected" god and spring fertility celebrations and applied them to the resurrected Son of God.
The customs of the ancient fertility and resurrection celebrations weren't the only ones morphed into a new "Christian" celebration, but they are among the most obvious. After all, many historians readily admit the origin of the name Easter and the ancient fertility symbolism of rabbits and decorated eggs (which you can verify yourself in almost any encyclopedia).
Frazer observes: "When we reflect how often the Church has skilfully contrived to plant the seeds of the new faith on the old stock of paganism, we may surmise that the Easter celebration of the dead and risen Christ was grafted upon a similar celebration of the dead and risen Adonis" (p. 345).
He goes on to note that the desire to bring heathens into the Catholic Church without forcing them to surrender their idolatrous celebrations "may have led the ecclesiastical authorities to assimilate the Easter festival of the death and resurrection of their Lord to the festival of the death and resurrection of another Asiatic god which fell at the same season . . . the Church may have consciously adapted the new festival [of Easter] to its heathen predecessor for the sake of winning souls to Christ" (p. 359).
Surprisingly, the celebration of Easter didn't finally win out until A.D. 325, nearly 300 years after Jesus Christ's death and resurrection!
As the Catechism of the Catholic Church explains in the section titled "The Liturgical Year," "At the Council of Nicaea in 325, all the Churches agreed that Easter . . . should be celebrated on the Sunday following the first full moon . . . after the vernal equinox" (1995, p. 332).
Up until this time, many believers had continued to commemorate Jesus' death through the biblical Passover as Jesus and the apostles had instructed (Luke:22:19-20

; 1 Corinthians:11:23-26



). Now, however, with the power of the Roman Empire behind it, the Catholic Church enforced its preference for Easter. Those who wished to continue to observe the biblical Passover had to go underground to avoid persecution.
Would Jesus Christ celebrate Easter?

The record of the New Testament is clear: The faithful members of the early Church continued to observe all that the apostles taught them, as they were taught by Jesus Christ. The record of history is equally clear: In later centuries new customs, practices and doctrines were introduced that were quite foreign to the original Christians, forming a new "Christianity" they would scarcely recognize.
So a key question is, should a Christian follow what Jesus taught or what later religious teachers taught?
It's always a good idea to ask the question, what would Jesus do?
If Jesus were in the flesh today, would He celebrate Easter? The simple answer is No. He does not change. "Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever," as Hebrews:13:8 tells us (emphasis added throughout). Jesus never observed Easter, never sanctioned it and never taught His disciples to celebrate it. Nor did the apostles teach the Church to do so.
Today, Jesus would observe the biblical Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread as Scripture teaches and as He practiced and taught (John:13:15-17


; 1 Corinthians:5:7-8

). In fact, He specifically said that He anticipated observing the Passover with His true followers "in My Father's kingdom" after His return (Matthew:26:26-29



).
The feasts of Passover and Unleavened Bread have deep meaning to Christ's true disciples. They reveal aspects of God's plan for the salvation of humanity—commemorating the fact that Jesus died for us and lives in us and for us (1 Corinthians:11:26; Galatians:2:20; Colossians:3:3-4

).
Should you observe Easter?

If you want to be a true disciple of Christ Jesus, you need to carefully examine whether your beliefs agree with the Bible. It is not acceptable to God to merely assume that He approves of or accepts non-biblical celebrations, regardless of whether they are done for proper motives.
The fact is that God says, "Learn not the way of the heathen"—those who don't know God's truth (Jeremiah:10:2, King James Version).
His Word gives us explicit instructions regarding worshipping Him with practices adopted from pagan idolatry: "Do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.' You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods . . . Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it" (Deuteronomy:12:30-32


).
Jesus Christ now commands everyone to repent of following all man-made religious traditions: "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts:17:30; compare Matthew:15:3).
Will you honor Christ's lifesaving instructions so that God can bless you? He said: "If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor" (John:12:26).
God wants you and me to obey His life-giving Word. When we do, we can serve Christ as His ambassadors on earth. There is no greater calling on earth and throughout time. For your ongoing happiness and security, turn to God now and seek His complete and perfect way. GN

Nigerian troops battled scores of Boko Haram fighters outside the northeastern city of Bauchi on Sunday, residents and a military source told AFP.
Soldiers supported by two fighter jets intercepted the militants who were in 20 pick-up trucks at Dungulbe village, seven kilometres (four miles) from the city, and engaged them in fierce fighting.
“The fighter jets are pounding the enemy position while ground troops are engaging them,” said a military officer in the city, who asked not to be identified, in an account supported by residents.
“The operation is still ongoing but the terrorists have suffered serious losses and are in disarray,” the officer added.
The fighting was taking place as Nigeria was holding a second day of voting in its general election after technology failures hampered polling on Saturday.
The Islamists arrived in the village around 10:00 am (0900 GMT) and set up camp in preparation for an invasion of the city, said Dungulbe resident Mudassir Hambali, who fled to Bauchi.
“They came in 20 vehicles carrying heavy weapons. As soon as I realised what was happening I fled through the bus with my family.
“I saw a large convoy of soldiers heading towards the village while I and my family were trekking to Bauchi.”
Anas Uballe, from Inkil village, two kilometres from Dungulbe, said: “I saw two military jets dropping bombs and the huge explosions terrified our village which forced us to move into the city.”
The militants were believed to have come through the town of Alkaleri, 60 kilometres away, where there was a dawn raid on Saturday, according to the military source and residents who fled.
Gunmen in several vehicles attacked public buildings and security checkpoints.
A police station, the office of the paramilitary Nigeria Security and Civil Defence force and the local electoral commission premises were all burned to the ground.
“They moved to Bishi, 35 kilometres away, where they shot dead a man in his car on the highway,” said Alkaleri resident Babale Shehu.
“They were no doubt the same gunmen that went to Dungulbe.”
The gunmen also on Sunday attacked polling stations and destroyed ballot boxes in Bauchi, state police spokesman Haruna Mohammed said.
“Today… at about 0025 hours, unspecified numbers of unknown gunmen in a convoy of over 10 vehicles stormed many polling units in Kirfi… and destroyed many electoral materials,” he said.
“(The) hoodlums further attacked Kirfi and Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters but were repelled and pursued towards Dindima town.”
The police statement did not mention Boko Haram or the operation in Dungulbe, which comes after at least seven people were killed in suspected Boko Haram attacks in neighbouring Gombe state Saturday.
“The entire surroundings has been cordoned off by combined security forces and effort is being intensified to restore normalcy in the area,” said Haruna.

ABUJA- PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO, Saturday lampooned the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega over the card reader machine glitches during the Presidential  and National Assembly elections, saying  that Nigerians should hold the INEC boss responsible.
In a statement, Saturday  by the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDPPCO, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, said that the malfunctioning of card readers in many polling units in parts of the country has forced the INEC to extend the election to Sunday in areas where the card readers failed and the electoral boy had resorted to manual accreditation.

Fani-Kayode who noted that the fears that PDP had all along expressed over the use of card readers for this crucial election have now been confirmed, said, “We had raised a number of issues about the card reader; for instance, we had argued that the card reader should have been test-run for a smaller election before deploying it for an election of this magnitude; we had raised other concerns, but the INEC under the Chair of Professor Attahiru Jega, had insisted on using the machine.
“Now that the machine has messed up the elections in many polling booths in parts of the country, necessitating the extension of the exercise to Sunday, it is now very clear that our party, the PDP, and the Presidential Campaign Organisation were right after all in their reservations about the use of the card readers.
“The malfunctioning of the machine is just the first instance of the imperfection and deliberate sinister designs for which INEC, acting in cahoots with the APC, wanted to deploy the machine.  The other components of the sinister designs will soon unravel to the shock of Nigerians.
“Apart from the card readers that largely malfunctioned to the extent that our presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan could not have his fingerprint verified, result sheets were not provided in many places

No insult please I was only trying to know what is going on. I have never heard any report from the north about card readers falure and delay in electoral proceSs or any bomb blast. I'm not blaming anybody but just wan't to know why is all the bad news coming from the south

Is anything there to worry? Why are we not hearing any complaint from the north, even in the north East apart from Yobe all is well no carD reader falure, no absent of Inec officials at any polling unit, no delay in Electorial materials. But the oposite is what is going on down south. Sign of good thing or bad thing to come?

There is tension in the opposition All Progressives Congress as a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Abdu Kafarati, has given an order for accelerated hearing in a suit brought by a non-governmental organisation, Global Center for Conscious Living Against Corruption, asking for an order of mandamus to compel the Inspector General of Police to investigate allegations of forgery and perjury against the party’s presidential candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari.
In the suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/172/2015, filed by Professor Andrew Chukwuemerie, SAN, the plaintiffs are seeking the order of the court to order police investigation into the “alleged acquisition and possession of the West African School Certificate by Gen. Muhammad Buhari at Provincial Secondary School, Katsina in view of non-production of the said School Certificate of certified true copy thereof”.

The court originating summons, supported by a 31-paragraph affidavit, sworn to by Joy Odoh, averred that the Inspector-General of Police has an obligation under the Nigerian Constitution to investigate allegations of forgery and lying on oath made against the APC presidential candidate and that the police had refused to do so despite repeated demands.
One of the exhibits attached to the originating summons by the plaintiff is a copy of a letter written by the Test Department of the National Office of the West African Examinations Council in Ghana which states that Buhari’s name and records were not in its examinations archive thus suggesting that he was never a candidate for the examination set by the body.
The plaintiffs contended that Buhari lied on oath and ought to be tried for perjury when he declared in an affidavit submitted to the Independent Electoral Commission that his Secondary School Certificate was with the Military Board, a claim denied by the Board.
The group said the allegations of forgery and perjury were too weighty to be ignored by the police “which has a constitutional duty to investigate all allegations bordering on crime in the interest of justice and that all efforts made to make the police perform its duties have proved futile”.
Meanwhile, subsequent upon an application by the plaintiffs counsel, the court gave an order for accelerated hearing and directed the Inspector-General of Police to enter his defence within seven days.
The plaintiffs are also asking the court to determine whether by virtue of the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and the Police Act, the Inspector General of Police is not duty bound to investigate the allegations especially when the APC candidate has not submitted either an original copy or a certified true copy of his secondary school certificate to INEC as required by law.
