Seven most important cv parts that need A CV is an outline of a person’s educational and professional history. It summarizes how your skills and abilities can contribute to an organisation. It helps get you a Job Interview. It is employers’ screening tool. Below are seven Parts of CV you need to consider when designing a CV. 1. Headings • Don’t write CV, curriculum vitae or résumé at the top. The employer/recruiter can see what it is. • Write your name in a bold format so they can find you quickly in a stack of CVs • Do not use italic format • Use a serious email address. E.g adakoleutaji@gmail.com, adakole.utaji@gmail.com, adakoleutaji@yahoo.com, • Do not use email like samcares4you@yahoo.com, sam4real@gmail.com, • Do not include your photo 2. Objectives • Also called ‘career objective’ or ‘job objective’ • An Objective can be helpful if you are applying to a company that interests you, but not in response to a particular job opening. • It isn’t necessary to write a full sentence • Make it short and specific. A vague, general objective wastes space and the reader’s time. 3. Key Skills and Experience • A very brief summary of your most relevant skills and experience. Employers/recruiters scan CVs for 30 seconds or less before deciding if they want to read further. Let them know what you want them to know about you in seconds • Customize! For example, use ‘Key Marketing Skills & Experience’ for a marketing position • Use phrases instead of full sentences • Capitalize the first letter in each new bullet point • Many companies and recruiters use internet to search for skills and experience that match their requirements. This is a good opportunity to include key words and phrases that would help them locate the required skills on your CV 4. Education • As fresh and young graduate, you will probably want to put the education section next. But applicants who have lots of work experience place that section before education in their CVs. • Starting with your most recent education list o Your HND/BSc. Or Masters Degree etc o The full name of the Institution of learning should be written in English, location - city and country o The period of time you have been there – month and year or year of graduation o Do not include grades unless they are above average o If you have received any academic honors, include them in this section o Do not write 2,1 instead write 2.1 or Second Class Upper • At the end of the education section, you can list any additional training or course(s) relevant to the job you are applying for 5. Experience • Using ‘Experience’ instead of ‘Work Experience’ enables you to include paid, and non-paid work, internships, volunteer work, and other experience that has helped develop your skill set. Employers care more that you have the experience rather than where you got it. • Identify the employer or organization, the dates of employment (month/year), your position and your key responsibilities and accomplishments • Use reverse chronological order: Start with your most recent experience and work backwards. • Use the present tense for current positions and the past tense for work you are no longer doing. • Use action verbs to describe your responsibilities and accomplishments. • Include any work-related recognition you have received at the end of this section 6. Additional Skills • Computer skills • Any other relevant skills including language proficiency Note: Skills that are particularly relevant for a job application should also be listed under Key Skills and Experience 7. References • References Available upon request’ is optional. It is understood that you will provide them when asked to do so. • You can include about three references in your CV • Try to avoid family relatives in your CV • Make it professional: Your reference may include your colleagues at work, your head of department, your lecturer, a friend etc Considering these seven parts of CV will help you design a winning CV Source: http://www.careersnig.com/2017/05/seven-most-important-cv-parts-that-need.html |

#TheMisplacedPriority of Nairaland, Vanguard, Punch, Govt, Some Nigerians etc. Woke up this morning expecting to see Hashtags in support of Super Falcons (Nigeria's Female Senior National Football Team who protested yesterday as a result of unpaid allowances having made our Nation proud). But this very important national discuss did not trend on Social media. Is this not enough to make sensible trends on Social media? Thanks to 2Face, Psquare, Linda Ikeji Channels Tv, TVC etc. The headlines MMM 30 days Account frozen has made is enough to land its participants to early grave. My question is " Will Nigerians be Happy if MMM participants loose their money to MMM? If not why this brouhaha? What is SEUN OSEWA's (Nairaland owner) interest on MMM that he makes all ill information about the scheme visible headlines on Nairaland while deleting useful information on the scheme which is unprofessional. Some anti MMM even go as far as calling MMM participants GULLIBLE. Hmmm! PARTICIPATING IN MMM AND BLINDLY SUPPORTING CORRUPT POLITICIANS. Which is more GULLIBLE? You have the answer! In the last one year MMM has positively touched lives of ordinary and common Nigerians. It has also reduced crime in this period of recession. Facts which most of us are blind to. Why spreading ill information on the scheme (MMM) when participants are not ignorant to the risk invloved before participating. We should stop disseminating false information on things we know little or nothing about. Why should we wish ourselves evil? Why Can't we stand together in pursuit of National Unity and Prosperity? It will be better for us to focus our strength and energy on things that will add value to us as individuals as well as a Nation rather than wasting our most precious asset (time) on mundane things Samuel Utaji John |
What is Seun Osewa's interest on MMM? Nairaland should be professional Pls. Tell Seun |
The acronym MMM is no longer a new thing to many Nigerians as over 2 million Nigerians are already in the system which they refer to as God sent in this time of economic hardship in the country. Some would say if not for MMM, how would they cope with the present economic hardship. Tropage went round to get people’s views on what MMM has done in the country. Here are some of the views collated by tropage: Reduction in Crime, Business expansion, Expansion in Internet Banking, Increase in the Use of Internet, Increase in Telecoms Communication, Increase in Consumption Capacity http://tropage.com/breaking-news-mmm-reduces-crime-increase-investment-nigeria-says/

Investment in Nigeria has been had hit because of the present state of Nigerian economy. The present realities is negatively affect Nigeria because most state in Nigeria has the following challenges: Revenue, Cost and corruption. Revenue Challenge Most states in the country depends largely on the allocation they get from the government at the center, any stop in the continuous flow of the allocation put them in a state of hunger and starvation. This allocation makes state government not think of better ways to generate revenue internally thereby bringing about state-owned investment and improvement in living standard of it’s citizens. This will also raise more business men and women in such states. All 36 states of the country are endowed with one or more mineral resources in commercial quantity. http://tropage.com/3-dimensional-challenge-nigerian-states-revenue-cost-corruption/

Being successful takes a lot of discipline. Every successful person is unconsciously discipline. Yes! I mean unconsciously discipline. This because discipline has become part of their day do day habit. They do not need extra effort of action to act in a discipline manner. 1. Never Live in the Past: Individuals that live in the past miss seeing what the future holds. They’re blinded by what could have been, instead of seeing what can be. 2. Respect Risk, Don’t Fear It: The fear of risk will lead to a lifetime of regret. That’s because when you don’t take that occasional risk, you’ll spend a lifetime looking back and wondering “if only” and “what if?” http://tropage.com/successful-people-dont/ |
